Thomas T.Prompt service by a very knowledgeable Rennai tankless water heater. Fixed the problem in under 5 minutes.
I needed the plumbing in my shower moved -- maybe a 2 hour job. They sent a man for an estimate on Thursday. Today's Tuesday and I haven't had a call. If the job was too small, they should have been honest. Now I've lost 4 days.
Turns out this company is not worth working for. My husband was highly qualified for this job, actually over qualified for it and they wouldn't even hire him as a helper. The secretary Barbara is very unprofessional and was bothered even by the fact that my husband called to inquire about his application. She's very rude and just plain out unprofessional as said above. I am in shock that a man that has plumbing, Carpenter, roofing, contracting work and did sheet metal for 18 years for the government can't even be hired as a helper. Barbara's exact words to my husband were and I quote "" well I hope you know you won't get $33 an hour at this job as he had gotten at his previous place of employment. He then explained or tried to explain as she acted bothered again by him that he doesn't care what he has to do or how much he gets paid, he just wanted a career for himself and his family to provide. The way I look at it is they were intimidated by the fact that at his previous job he made as much as the manager there I guess. Do not and I repeat please do not apply or use this company for any work they are very unprofessional and won't even take an over qualified candidate as a helper.
Tony E.We received two bids basically the same but decided to go with cayton based on a neighbor . We greatly regret that decision and the neighbor agrees now . It has not been a good experience at all. The sales guy Eric V. Has proven not to be honest and reliable . The workers who show up to do the work are awesome and decent people . Our first experience which should have given us a clue, was when we had an appointment for Eric to come over and look at our house and give us a quote. Our appointment was at 10am. I was sitting in the living room and well after 10 am , Darrin called him to see if he got lost ... he proceeded to give Darrin attitude saying he was at our house at 9:45 and we didn't answer the door . So Darrin asked me why I didn't answer and I said because no one knocked on the door . Eric said he couldn't come back until 12:30. We had other plans but we wanted the estimate so we delayed them . Well, we have ring door bell.. so guess what ? He didn't come to our house ( even though clearly he had our address). Darrin called him back to let him know. When he showed up at 1230 he apologized because he went to two houses over instead of ours.
That is minor but we just got more of the same after we signed the contract. We ran into problems with Eric and The worst part is the company owner refused to take our call saying he was too busy and whatever Eric says he stands behind, he's "" his man"". Well I guess we are old fashioned and honesty is important to us . Won't go into details but we are now talking with rinnai corporate about the outstanding issues. Hoping they can help or get involved with the local business . No matter how long you are in business you should care about the truth and doing the job you are paid to do . Sadly cayton has wrung us out on multiple issues.
Update : a call with Rinnai customer service revealed that Cayton is not a certified dealer which might explain their lack of knowledge installing the wireless module ( though we were not told that by cayton). If you want a certified dealer , check with Piedmont Gas, has we known that's where we would have gone . But Rinnai Corp is going to take care of us and we don't recommend James l. cayton for anything .
Lots of luck if you can get a call back from these guys. There telling phone answering machine is a farce. Not a company to call if you have an emergency of any kind.
