We wanted to change out the spa shower unit in our master bath and called Knox Plumbing- we used them in the past and dealt with Mr. Knox Sr. who was always prompt. I called and the lady who answered the phone took down the details and said that Mr. Knox's son would call me back. Three days later he called back and then finally came over 1 week later. I told him that we wanted a new spa shower unit, he hemmed and hawed and finally said that he had a salesman who came in to sell him these and he would look up options, then he asked about anything else that was needed and my husband went over some minor plumbing issues with the sinks. Now mind you, Knox Plumbing advertises ""bathroom remodels""...he said that he would be away the following week but he seemed to indicate that he would have this info by the end of the week before his vacation. Let me just say this- it has been 2 months and our bathroom remodel is completed, I found a beautiful spa shower unit online, all of the plumbing has been done and we have NEVER heard from Mr. Knox Jr!
Apparently the son does not want to be bothered with any type of work and blows off potential clients. Granted this turned out to be only an $800.00 plumbing job, along with the $600.00 spa unit that I purchased on the internet, but had we agreed to Knox doing the entire job and adding the spa shower unit purchased from them it would have been much more profitable for them along with the faucet plumbing installation. In reality, I don't think it is about the cost of the job, but more about the lack of motivation on the part of the son to want to work at all. I do think that it is very shortsighted on his part, since we live in a community that is always doing all sorts of repairs/remodels tour home and word of both bad and good plumbers, etc..spreads quickly. We will NEVER recommend Knox for any plumbing jobs!

In late 2012 I had a new heat pump installed by Knox and Son. The following summer a slow leak of compressant developed causing the unit to cycle on and off too rapidly. I called Knox and Son who, despite much labor and recharge of the system more than once, could not locate what must have been a very tiny leak. All this work was very willingly done by them at no cost to me under terms of the warranty. They concluded that unusual as it might be, the defect must be in the unit itself rather than in the pipes. Although by this time the warranty had expired Knox successfully obtained and installed a brand new unit from the manufacturer, again at no cost to me, despite the first unit being out of warranty. This is a company that takes servicing what it sells a giant step beyond the call of duty and I am most appreciative of their honesty, diligence and responsiveness.
