I would have to agree with the reviews regarding the integrity of this man and I have never used his services. I can tell that he is disrespectful of others and has no common decency just by the fact that he has parked his van and boat across 4 parking spots of a motel preventing any other guests from parking when he could have easily parked them in the back parking lot where there is sufficient space for exactly that reason.
If he doesn't have common decency and respect for others then I'd bet money that he isn't a trustworthy professional.

If I could give James a zero on this review I would because he and his plumber partner came out to help us with our 3 1/2 bath remodel and everything James touched had to be fixed by the next plumber who did an amazing job when compared to James! The first thing our new plumber told us was that the drain line James ran to our shower was not run properly, not to code, and he could only figure the reason was because it was harder to crawl back into the corner in the crawlspace under the house than it was to fix the drain properly to Code. In fact that drain line was twice the length it should have been ... totally not to code! Amazing since our new plumber is over 6 feet tall and Jim is comparatively shorter than that. An overflowed drain in that bathroom would've been disastrous since we did the shower curbless.
James was brought in to rework the plumbing in two bathrooms and get them ready before the tile was put on. Long story short: our tile man pointed out that James set the shower valves off about an inch and a half ... So James begrudgingly said he wouldn't charge us for redoing his work which he did and then sent us a bill for over $3000. That same day he repaired a toilet leak in the wall that had leaked for quite a while. He repaired it by putting a gum like substance around the leak instead of replacing the pipe. When I asked our new plumber about that repair he said that is only ever considered a temporary repair and would eventually start leaking again, so naturally we had to have our new plumber fix that as well. When I got the bill for over 3K I called James and he gave me a lot of BS that wasn't true! I wish I had not paid that man a dime because I'm still paying for his mistakes. We now have a water valve that won't get hot enough in one of those bathrooms he fixed. Do not hire this man or you will be sorry! Beware because he's a good talker and Will bend over backwards to call you and talk to you but that is only a front for his poor plumbing skills!

Jim came the same day I called him and worked on our R.O. system, fixed it. Then a very clogged drain, and fixed that.
Efficient, fair price, excellent work, and Jimmy is a very nice man. I would recommend him highly!

If you want a professional and prompt plumber who'll go the extra mile, Jim is your guy. We had a major issue with a blown pressure regulator and Jim and Eddie were there in a flash and stayed until it was all put back together, even bringing the parts back the next day for the insurance adjuster. Thanks!

Not a person of integrity or competence . Repair was not done correctly by the two apparently-teenage sons of his associate David Gonzalez. The pipe in question was still leaking (tho somewhat less) 2 weeks later, when my gardener brought it to my attention. At that point, James argued that the fact that the screws in question weren't originally tightened enough to stop the leak was ""an honest oversight"" and that ""I'm not perfect either."" Really? That's your professional response as a plumber? David Gonzalez came back with one of his sons, apparently showed him how to tighten screws correctly, and then tried to minimize the fact that the pipe had still been leaking for the two weeks since their first visit. Neither James nor his associate took responsibility for the error. When I presented to James that I shouldn't have to pay for what was apparently on-the-job training for the two teenagers, he argued that I was lucky not to be billed for the return visit, (the one where the leak was actually fixed). Wow. On top of all of this, he initially overcharged me by $100 and only when I questioned the amount was it rectified. And for all of this, I paid $150. I would avoid both James Crolius and David Gonzalez for any plumbing needs!!!

Jim came to my house to do some repairs and to run a water line to my dishwasher. He is extremely friendly, professional, and clearly very knowledgable. He made sure I was completely taken care of- his attention to detail and pride in his work clearly shows. I will definitely call him again for any plumbing needs I may have and recommend him to anyone in the Santa Barbara area that needs an excellent plumber!
