Patricia C.My hot water would not run hot in my bathtub but was hot in every other sink and shower. I went through 2 plumbers and an electrician before I called Waltz Plumbing and Heating. Their plumber solved my problem in 5 minutes! He found a tempering valve under my sink that had burned out, and he told me I didn't even need it. He turned off the cold water line and redirected the hot water to my tub.
They are very knowledgable, and I will definitely use Waltz Plumbing and Heating again!
***WARNING***WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Never in my life have a dealt with such a joke of a company. They charged Me $300 for a drip in my water heater, whicH didn't actuually fix it. I called back and they said I would have to pay the guy to come back to try again!!!! What a joke. I paid 300$ for the first visit and 49$ for him to come back out and Check again.. after all that they wouldn't return my calls or schedule to fix it ! I had to seek out a new plumber. I WOULD CALL ANYONE ELSE !!!!!
I have used Richard P Waltz multiple times in the past, they can be very expensive but are generally reliable so I continued to use their services. However, after this most recent job I will no longer be doing so. I had 3 sprinkler heads installed to cover 4 gas hot water heaters in order to comply with Portland City standards. The materials consisted of 3 sprinkler heads, 3 elbow joints, 6 total pex fittings and 12 feet of pex piping. The materials cost alone was over $330. Comparable sprinkler heads to what was installed go for about $10 online and at plumbing supply houses. The elbow joints are similar in price and all of the pex material could be purchased at home depot or probably anywhere else for about $20. In total I could have purchased the materials for less than $100. I called to speak with a manager about the materials cost and was told that this is just the way it is done, they have to mark up their materials. I understand that a business needs to be profitable but a 200% markup is absolutely ridiculous. He obviously couldn't have cared less that he was losing a customer and in fact when I told him I would be taking my business elsewhere he said fine, I'll note your file. If you do choose to use this company I would highly recommend getting a detailed workup of the materials and costs prior to committing to them. There are plenty of other plumbers out there who do great work.
