This company was sent by my warranty company when my water heater went out. The receptionist was really helpful in setting up my appointment and the technician was knowledgeable when he diagnosed the need for replacement. I had a larger Rheem unit and the company procured a Rheem to replace it. When the technician arrived with the unit, he was very careful in bring it in, he did the work professionally, and cleaned up everything, even sweeping up the floor before he left. Thank you J-Star!

This company has a contract with my Home Warranty provider and was not willing to travel 1 hour to honor that contract. However, that is not my issue. Upon contracting this company directly to get an idea of how many days it would take to get my AC checked out. (Oh by the way it isn't working and the temperatures are in triple digits and we are elderly and handicaped.) They made an appointment to come out the next day. We waited in the heat for them to arrive (which they never did). I made several attempts to call and left messages to see if they would make it and no one ever responded. This morning I called to see if they were going to reschedule and was disconnected. Seconds later I received a text message that the appointment for yesterday was cancelled. I'm thinking that they never intented to come out. Could have just been honest to begin with and not cost me time in the heat. Now my warrant company has to try to find someone else. Well it's Friday and will probably not get anyone out before Monday. Next time J Star just be honest with the customer and don't leave them hanging in the heat.

This company is very unprofessional and have incompetent, technicians, like Charles who came out and replaced a working ac unit and never fixed the actual unit that was not working at all. They claim will be there at one time but never show up until 5 or 6 hours later, order wrong parts then place's blame elsewhere. Will not start work until payment is in hand. Also damaged my generator and sat a 200-pound AC unit on top my generator. Poor communication skills on what is going on and cost me four days f work having to be home to meet them. I would never recommend them for service.

The office is prompt and accurate in all of their tickets and customer service is top notch. The owner, Jim, is extremely responsive and runs the business with customer satisfaction in mind. The technicians are always on time to customers and even after following behind their work, you can see the pride and dedication they do when completing a job. Horrible customer service. Was assigned this company through my home warranty company. They never called to schedule an appointment. The only call I got was to ask if they could show up in 10-20 minutes. Was told that they would schedule me for the following day. The following day came and I had to call because I didn't hear from them. Was told by the technician that I hadn't been scheduled but they would swing by and take care of my issue. The technician came by and was unable to do anything because my tankless electric water heater wouldn't power up. Was told that I needed to call the home warranty company to send out an electrician and that they would submit their report to the home warranty company. It's been over a week and the home warranty company has not been able to get a response from them and I am still without hot water in my home. I've called multiple times, left messages, and have gotten zero response from anyone at J-Star. Utter disappointment from everyone at the company. Save your self the headache and go elsewhere!

It's pretty sad when a company miss-diagnoses an issue, on two different occasions, to a home warranty company so that they will decline the approval to fix just because they are either lazy or incompetent to do the work.

The WORST! The lady who sets appointments and answers the phone was extremely rude. Tried to set an appointment with them for the last 4 days through my home warranty company and they kept giving short answers that made no sense through text. I called them to verify my date and time because they didnt specify clearly just in text "Next Week" after giving a window of 9am to 5pm. That's literally all day.. unacceptable. Called a few times this week, no answer, no call back. I texted a few more times and they finally responded "Friday" 3 days later. I had to ask what time and they just said "Morning Call".. that is so confusing. I just called them and they finally answered.. she literally told me, "You should have picked up the phone and figured it out if you didn't understand!" I told her there was no reason to be rude I just needed to verify my appointment. It said right on the text to reply to the text for scheduling. She said and I quote "I'm not rude, you're rude! Good luck finding some one else to do your warranty, we're the only ones!" And then she hung up! I attached the screenshot of the Text because they will lie. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE.

**Update: I reported them to AHS (American Home Shield) and they said they have had numerous complaints for this company and will hopefully be dropping them as a recommended contractor. If you have AHS and had terrible service with jstar then I highly encourage you to report them to save others from their nasty and rude services.**

Whomever handles the phones and dispatch is not a happy person. I do admit we had an initial issue, but their communication, e-mail messages, and then getting yelled at and cancelled was the end result. Oh, and if you provide them a review during service and it is not good, they will cancel your appointment, after yelling!

Our house to do a 6 month check and gave us a great check. However 2 weeks later my ac is out. When they come back they find a Freon leak. Hmmm. When I reviewed the service order from 2 weeks prior, the tech did not even bother to check Freon. Now they are saying we need a whole nee unit. They are horrible to deal with and will lie to
Your face. Do not use them.
