EUREKA!!! A truly honest and knowledgeable plumbing service! This was my second experience with J & S. The first was for a sewer break and they were expert in handling this complex repair for me--and talked with my insurance company as well to explain the cause appropriately (my claim was covered!).

Today, I had two small jobs, get a faucet to work and check my sump pump and back-up sump pump. Paul took the time to ""try something"" to get the faucet operational but wasn't sure it would work. If not, I would have needed to order a whole new cartridge for my faucet. It worked! Paul could have taken the easy way out and not even bothered to try to fix it as had no idea this fix was even possible--honesty and knowledge. He also checked out my sump pump and back-up sump pump and all was well. (As opposed to an inspection I had TWO years ago where I was told I would need to replace the sump pump in a year.) Paul also took the time to show me how to test both of the pumps.

To me, J & S is one of the few honest and knowledgeable services out there. Finding them was the best thing that came from my sewer line breaking. :-)

These guys are great!

With a new house, we had a list of issues we needed handled on every floor, from the basement sump to a busted upstairs shower. Even the yard sprinkler system needed work! We got a few other quotes, but J&S came recommended by a friend and so we had them just come out ready to work. So glad we used them. Sean and his team were on time, efficient, and got our issues sorted in no time, at a really reasonable price.

We will definitely be calling them the next time something comes up!

Today Gasper and two other gentlemen came to rod out our sewer line after a different, commercial, company failed to open the line last night, leaving my husband and I, our dog, and our two week old newborn without water. Not only were Gasper and his team incredibly friendly and professional, they were clean, and extraordinarily reasonably priced--they provided the same service as the other company, successfully, for half the price. They were at our house within an hour and a half of initial contact, and had the job done quickly and thoroughly. We were so impressed with their service, and will definitely be contacting J & S for future plumbing needs!

In a jam over this holiday weekend when my water heater went out.

Called Saturday night they were at my door by 8:30am on Sunday, replaced my water heater with hour and a half and I couldn't be happier

Techs were fantastic, super nice and on call girl was great also!!

Oh and price was exceptional .... I saved hundreds going to J&S rather then Home Depot or anywhere else I looked.

Love this company! we had an emergency last night - I smelled ""dampness"" when i went in the basement so hubby checked our crawlspace and sure enough we had water - assuming it was the recent rains/snow melt we went to clean up til we saw an area by a drain pipe (from shower behind wall) that had water bubbling up under it hubby had to sit there for hours using shop/vac to suck it up and it would only keep coming back so we assumed it was a busted pipe i called several plumbers and they were the only to respond (mind you its super busy for them all w/the recent rains/etc.) so i get it but they were the only to call back right away i explained what we thought it was the nice woman on the phone gave suggestions (sump pump being one we didn't think of that thinking that was fine no water in utility room) so they would send someone when available - i went to investigate the pump anyway and lo and behold it was that - the balloon switch thing broke off and it was not draining we had to manually do it (and sit there all night to do it til fixed) the water ended up seeping into our foundation/crawlspace - they came out finally at 10:15 pm checked it all knew we needed a new pump and quickly installed one in like 10 mns! yes didn't want to spend the $ but at that hour we had no choice but was pleasantly surprised it was not as costly as one would think (more than if we did it ourselves obviously but still considering it all not bad) they do not upcharge for evenings and weekends that alone sold me AND the guy gave us a coupon! totally trust them - the techs were so super friendly and helpful even at that late hour and we were able to peacefully go to bed at 11 pm! :) totally recommend!

I have used J & S Plumbing for a number of years and will continue to do so. Customer service and work quality are excellent. Their plumbers are reliable. That's important when somebody takes time from work. When they are finished they clean up after themselves.

Great plumbers you can count on to do good solid work.

We have been using J & S for several years now. Our need for a plumber is never planned, and every time we have a situation J & S Plumbing is quick to respond and does good solid work. Just today called in a panic, and while they were very busy they squeezed us in and got the problem fixed.
I recommend them to all my friends and family, and would recommend them to you also.

February 1st, gotta' love Chicago weather; right?
-24 degrees with a wind chill of -54 degrees; the pipes in my house can take it; NOT! After my house and the people and pets in it survived 4 days of non-stop Arctic weather, just when the temps were to reach a balmy 2 degrees, it happened. The dreaded cracked pipe. Luckily, it must had just burst, when we noticed the rec room carpeting was a bit squishy. We're grateful it wasn't flooded.

In the past, J&S had been great installing a new ejector pump and adding (I think this is the plumbing term?) a frost proof shut off from the outside hose spigot. So, with this latest ""event"", I called J&S.

Unfortunately, Ed told me that there were about 50 calls ahead of us and maybe I should call other plumbers, as well. Well, other plumbers had wait lists of hours to 2-3 days. Who can go that long without flushing a toilet? When the phone rang a few hours later and it was Ed saying a crew could be over in 1/2 an hour. We were ready to have a party!

The two guys got the repair made quickly. They were competent, did neat work and were friendly guys. We were glad that the bill didn't cause us a heart attack or stroke. We were thrilled to have water.

So, thank you J&S, once again. You guys are the best! Call them whenever you pipes decide to give you an indoor swimming pool.

Excellent!! I called with a sump pump not working and beeping. J & S had the service man out early Monday morning. The pump was working by 10:30. They give a 10% discount to seniors and military. I am very pleased and recommend them to all.

Don't call J & S!!
Answering service said plumbing tech would call me back in 5-10 minutes for my 5 AM emergency.. I really needed a hero and due to the ratings and reviews, I chose this company. I waited an hour...no one called back. I called again but this time asked to cancel my request for service since the tech had been unresponsive - I was told ""someone will call you back in 5-10 minutes""...what??? I repeated, NO, don't call me back, I'm cancelling, this has been a very disappointing experience.
After I cancelled my request, someone from J & S DID call me back and left a sarcastic message on my voice mail!! You'd think they would have apologized instead, right? smh...
