The professionals at J. R. J. R. Lane Plumbing was founded by my father, W.R. Lane (Bob). He graduated as a civil engineer from NC State. After working in construction around his service in the Korean War, he gained significant expertise in construction and became a general contractor. Eventually, he expanded his skills to become a plumbing contractor. In the 70s and early 80s, he found success in residential remodeling and rental projects. He constructed apartment buildings for HUD across the state. During this period, his sons actively participated in the business. Jim developed an interest in managing construction sites and was involved in installing utilities for various projects. This ignited Jim's enthusiasm for plumbing. Over the next decade, the Lane family participated in numerous projects, from the new terminal C restaurants to installing gas lines for Hewlett Packard's advanced laboratory equipment. Jim became licensed in 1986.
