Do not use this plumber.

Filing complaint with BBB and Secretary of State of CT today.

After OVER charging me (which I still paid in full) for a small job done at my home, they sent me another bill even after being paid in full, because their plumber arrived the first time with the wrong material.

This company thinks I should pay for this plumbers mistakes. Go anywhere else but this company charges outrageous rates and blames customer for their incompetence.

Came to our home to see what needed to be done. Stayed 45 minutes followed by 15 minutes in his car writing the invoice.
Massively overcharged and they put their sticker in 4 locations in my basement, without asking, 2 of them on top of existing stickers of other service providers.
Very bad experience

I echo all the previous reviews that this company over charging a lot! The plumber spent 1.5 hours filling air into our water tank and replacing the shut-off valve. Then spent a long time in his car to generate the invoice and quota for replacing the water tank. I told him I can call office to get quota. But he insisted in doing that. After he got my credit card information and gave me the quota verbally, he left my house and it was a little bit 2 hours short since he came. But he stayed in the car for a long time before drove away. We were charged 2.5 hours for his work. The office told me that the GPS showed that the time he arrived and left my driveway was 10 minutes more than 2 hours so he charged me 2.5 hours. But he finished his work in 1.5 hours. I had no control of him staying in the car on our driveway to do his other things instead of working for us. I will definitely not work and recommend this company!

Very satisfied customers!!! We had shut-off valves that were corroded and needed to be changed in addition to a replacement pipe for our water tank. The gentleman, Dimitri, that came to our house was prompt, courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable. He explained what needed to be done and showed us as he explained everything. It was so refreshing to be talking to someone that understood our lack of knowledge with our plumbing needs! After explaining the process and giving us an estimate for repairs, he proceeded to do the work in a timely manner. We are thrilled and will continue to use Mulvaney for all our plumbing needs!

If you want to pay a plumbing company like you're hiring a supermodel, J. Mulvaney is for you. We were charged for the time the plumber drove, while we was at my house chatting me up--saying in appropriate things that made me uncomfortable--and then offering to dig a hole I said I could dig. All the while, $85 an hour no matter what they did. Pretty sure we also got charged for when I scheduled the appointment. That's a joke, but possibly not unrealistic. The most rip-off company I've come in contact with in Connecticut in our 12 years of living here.

Woke up to no water. Called Mulvaney Plumbing and they were at my house by 11am working on the well, and we had water in the early afternoon.
Prompt, neat, professional and a very fair price. Highly recommend.

We had our well pump go on a Sunday afternoon with 2 sick kids. They came out promptly to evaluate around 5pm and by Monday 10am they were done. Good quality. Local company, family owned and operated. Really appreciated their honesty. After pulling the defective pump, they told me that if I went with the original installer that I would be able to get the pump under warranty and that they would stop working if I asked them to. They told me the price difference and said that they would understand. I value honesty and quality work more than money as life has taught me you get what you pay for. I asked that they finish the job as I felt integrity these days should be rewarded No, it wasn't cheap, but we got an upgraded pump with good service. I hope they never lose sight of the importance of customer service.

Love using local businesses and Mulvaney is great. Always quick and easy to schedule, prices are reasonable, and things get fixed properly the first time!
You can't beat a company that is willing to be there for you when the rain is falling and the water is rising in the basement!
You won't regret using Mulvaney!

If I could give zero stars, I would.

I was misquoted on price, in that two men showed up for a one man job.

Not only was the fee ridiculous, but the hacks left trash in my hallway and left black grease all over my bathroom.

Horrible experience!

This once terrific plumbing business has fallen to not even calling back to schedule evaluation and not following up to work on a big job where my house was taking in water from a leaking main water pipeline my house, as identified by the water company.
Their office person was very nice, but don't let that fool you!
