Called American Home Shield yesterday December 11, 2018 regarding my gas hot water heater. I was immediately assigned J & K Plumbing and was advised I would receive a call within 24 hours for my scheduled appointment. Within 30 minutes I received a call from the office staff at J & K Plumbing and they advised they would be at my home Wednesday December 12, 2018 between 8am and noon.
Today December 12, 2018 I received a phone call from J & K Plumbing at 10:15am and said the plumber was enroute to my home. He arrived at 10:45am and introduced himself and his helper and advised me he could repair the gas hot water heater. Within 30 minutes he replaced the automatic gas sensor valve and pilot coupler. He showed me that the heater flame came on and that we should have hot water within the hour.
These guys were on top of their game. Very professional, polite, and explained everything to me. Please don't believe all the negative reviews you see on yelp. These guys worked hard and fast & repaired my hot water heater. Thanks for the excellent service.

WORST company EVER! AHS also sent this company out to service my plumbing issue. This company scammed me and, by the looks of all the one star reviews, this seems to be the M.O. of this business. Do actual plumbers even work at J&K? Honestly, this company should be called JOKE. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. The man I spoke with insisted someone came to my home. Yes, they did, they left a note on the front door, but they NEVER KNOCKED! So bizarre. Why would you come to my home and not knock on the door??? Oh yeah, so you can collect the $75 service fee for doing NOTHING! The man on the phone was so condescending and rude. This company is the reason I am cancelling my AHS warranty. It was painful to give this company even one star!

This was hands down the worst experience I have had in dealing with an American Home Shield service request. The only thing I can say that was positive is that the service man was on time to the appointment. Unfortunately punctuality doesn't solve Hot water heater issues. I was chrystal clear on explaining the issue my family was experiencing with our hot water heater to the office administrator that fielded my service request. It was made very clear that this was an american home shield service request. Specifically that our water would no longer maintain hot temperatures as long as it typically does. The Office secretary didn't have any follow up questions for me at that time and scheduled the service. I was under the impression that the issue I was experiencing could be solved. When The service man arrived he simply looked at the water heater said that you know that is pretty normal in the Fall asked me to sign the service contract and left. I believe total time of the "service" was no more that 15 minutes from the time the guy arrived "diagnosed" the issue and left. I wasn't given any recourse to solve the issues with the sediment build up in my water heater either. I basically am left with a water heater that is under warranty and evidently working as it should. I was so upset that I called American Home Shield and expressed they could have the $75 service fee, or they could keep me as a customer on contract but they couldn't have both. If you have AHS and put in a plumbing request and this is the company allocated to you don't walk the other direction RUN.

J & K Plumbing is hands-down the worst company I have ever tried to work with!!! They were sent to my home after scheduling a warranty request through American Home Shield. I have had problems with this company in the past though, so I don't know why I was so surprised to have the same type of experience with them again. The time that I am referring to J & K Plumbing denied a claim at my house concerning problems with our water heater. However, the company that was sent to my house by American Home Shield in that instance for a second opinion, told me that my problem was covered under my AHS warranty, and they corrected the issue for me with no problems.
Going back to my current experience. I now have a water leak at my house. This was verified by the technician from J & K Plumbing while he was on the site today after he looked at the main water meter out by the street. However, rather than even coming into the house to try to see where it might be coming from, he left when I told him that I had an unpleasant conversation with Kathy over the phone on my way to the appointment from work. During that conversation with Kathy (J & K's office lady), she told me that the technician had been waiting for 5 minutes at the house, and that "if I was only 3-4 minutes away from the house" like I told her, that they could wait the extra 3-4 minutes, "she guessed." Long story short, as I said, the technician refused to come into the house and left saying that they would call American Home Shield to have a different company come out to our house for the leak. Every time I have dealt with this company they have been rude, impolite, non-courteous, and down-right unprofessional! I am not sure how a company that repeatedly demonstrates this level of unprofessionalism remains in business, but I hope that whoever reads this review will steer clear from this company in the future to avoid any problems like what I have experienced with them.

Awful company to work with. Lied about coming to my house just they would collect a $75 service call without doing any work.

Just bought a house in McKinney. Saw that water was leaking from the fridge yesterday, and the valve wasn't working to turn the water off. Called J and K as they'd been out to do something with this brand new fridge. It sounds like it's the same problem that they were supposed to have fixed. They refused to go back to look at it. They said it's a home warranty issue.

I would like to give -100 star rating. This business received our AHS contract. The issue is bad garbage disposal and the drain. But the service man told me the service contract was not covered it.

I would have given negative stars if I could. AHS sent this company out. They did not offer any service for my hot water heater. The representative initially came out and said the City of Plano must have adjusted my water pressure and was the reason we were not getting hot water. I contacted AHS again and they sent this company again. The representative then said I would have to run the dishwasher for the rest of the home to have hot water. So infuriating!! I am the original homeowner and have lived at my home for 20 years and know what hot water feels like.

Terrible customer service and very shoddy work I would never recommend these people extremely rude people in their front office and did not complete the work I am turning them into the Better Business Bureau as well

Please read the ratings for this company and know that there is a trend for a reason.
They are truly the worst company I've ever had to deal with. I had a leak in a pipe and they didn't even dig a hole and determined it to be outside the foundation, which isn't covered by a home warranty company. No big deal, so I called two other plumbers to get quotes and after the first dug a bike, determined the leak was inside the slab. The next plumber concurred. So, I decided to call J&k back which is just a complete hassle trying to schedule anything with them.
They did eventually come back days later as my water continues to leak. He said that it's a gray area and that it's really outside the slab still. Again, didn't visualize the pipe as it had filled back up with water and mud.
I had the first plumber I called myself come back out and make the repair with the hole being 6 inches within the slab, I have no idea how that is gray area.
I would avoid this company at all cost.
