In December, we went to court and we were awarded a judgment in our favor AGAINST J&D Plumbing. The judgment was appealed by Defendant and a new trial was held on 4/21/17 wherein a new judge ALSO awarded us a judgment AGAINST J&D Plumbing. Two judges agreed with us in two separate trials. Do not trust Robert Mungo, or his associates.

STORY: In June, our main sewer line (which lies in an easement on the rear of our property) became partially blocked and was backing up into our home. We contacted J &D Plumbing to come and snake it out to clear it. First off, Steve H. comes out with a cable machine that does not work. He leaves for an hour to go get a working machine. Steve makes several alleged attempts to clear the line and yet he is unsuccessful. He declares that he's positive that we have a broken pipe and he puts a camera down the line and marks the spot where his equipment allegedly stops. The following day, Steve repeats the same procedures. He says he cannot see anything, as there is water in the line because he could not clear it. We are billed for each visit though there was no resolution. Steve declares he knows a broken line when he sees one. He calls over ""Buddy"" from J&D who stops over to take a look. They jointly tell us the line is broken and we need to start digging but the last resort before digging it all up would be to have the line hydrojetted. Steve says if it's not broken, hydrojetting will get through it. So, we have their ""friend"" Robert from Robert's Plumbing, out the next day to hydrojet our line. Ironically, he could not get through either and Robert marks their spot next to J&D's marking. We commence digging for three days and now have an 8' hole down to the City's main. There is no water to be seen anywhere. I sent a picture of the hole exposing the City main and Steve declares ""That's your sewer line The city main would be a lot bigger."" Steve was wrong. It WAS the City's main line and being a plumber, he should've recognized it. This speaks volumes about J & D Plumbing and their inadequate qualifications and integrity.

As a last resort, I have the City flush their main and put a camera down their main looking up into our main connection. Note: J & D Plumbing is found at the end of our street stalking the City employees for information on our address and what was happening. The City shows me a picture of our main with simple root blockage, so after a week of hell, I call out another plumbing company with hundreds of reviews on Yelp. This plumber was able to put their cable machine through our line and clear it in LESS THAN 15 MINUTES!! We were inconvenienced for over a week with minimal water usage in our home due to J&D Plumbing and Robert's Plumbing's greed and incurred additional financial loss digging an unnecessary hole in our rear yard and tearing out tropical landscape. Pure hell!

It is my opinion that J & D Plumbing were working together with Robert of Robert's Plumbing & Rooter to try to scam us out of thousands of dollars. The judge AGREED with us.

Further, Robert Mungo, President of J&D Plumbing somehow illegally obtained Public Records from the Long Beach Water Department on our address without completing a public records request form. He was obnoxious and demanding while trying to obtain said records, which were denied by the record clerk.

AGAIN, I obviously do NOT recommend using J&D Plumbing, as they are dishonest.

As a Property Manager in Long Beach, I must say finding a good plumber has been a challenge......Then I met J & D plumbing! They have saved my life on more than multiple occasions, holidays, weekends after hours they reply with a smile, punctuality and professionalism. I appreciate everyone on the team. I strongly suggest, if you want a great experience, give them a call.
They have done renovation projects for us and simple toilet replacement and everything in between and they always, always impress me.

J & D Plumbing and Heating does way more than plumbing and heating. They just finished putting a new roof on my 2,300 s/f home and did a superb job. Working with Bobby Mungo was a pleasure. He was professional and very knowledgeable. The roofing crew knew exactly what they were doing and were finished with the job in five days. What I really appreciated was the detail work they did. I would not have known to ask, but they did it because they take pride in their work. Bobby came to me a couple of times to suggest they move or change something to make the roof (or vents, etc) work more efficiently. I thought they would charge me more money, but they didn't. The only extra charge was the replacement of some rotting wood, and all the estimates I received included this cost, should it be necessary. J & D Plumbing was very fair in the cost of the roof. They are general contractors, so before you choose a company to do any project at your home, call J & D Plumbing and get a quote. You will be glad you did.

Another outstanding job by J & D Plumbing. Had contacted the Roto Hero for a blocked sewer line. They spent two days and gave me an estimate of $16,000 to complete work. J & D cleared out blockage on a Sunday and it was only $500 then came back and did new clean out and piping and was under $1000. btw Hero had revised their estimate to $7200 when they heard me getting a second opinion.

Service Home Warranty sent the Home Plumbers to our home to correct a stopped drain. Alex looked and said he could nothing unless we installed a second clean-out at the back bathroom. It would cost $2800 to $3500 and then the drain could be cleared. He may have thought he had senior citizens who were easy marks. I said I wanted to talk to SHW before proceeding. I called another company, J&D Plumbing in Long Beach and on the phone said it should not cost that much. The man came to house, could not snake the line from the clean-out and had to lift the toiled and was successful from there. The total charge was $176. Hooray for J&D Plumbing. They are trustworthy, do good work and do not try to gouge you. We have used them before and certain will use them and recommend them. A reliable company.

Great job! We had a grease and food clog in a kitchen drain that I couldn't clear on my own. I called J&D around 4:00pm and a very nice lady said one of her guys was just finishing a job in the area. By 4:10 Steve H was pulling into the driveway. He was professional and friendly. By 4:30 the clog was cleared and he was on his way for under $100. I couldn't be happier with all aspects of this experience.
