I'm not sure what has happened to JD Hunter but the quality of service has gone downhill over the last few years. We've used the company with success before.

But this time was disappointingly quite the opposite. When we hired them to install a new bath/shower, they cut the hole for the water shut off valve in a place that makes it really hard to reach and then JD broke the new faucet for the bath. He also installed a silver drain rather than a matching bronze one and tried to tell me that it matched and no one would notice.

Rather than being upfront and honest and telling us that he broke the expensive faucet piece, he just told me that he couldn't finish the job. He was literally running to the door, when he told me ""In all my years of plumbing, I've never come across a faucet so hard to install. You know what we're going to have to do? You will have to call Lowe's or someone to finish it."" He then bolted out the door and took off. He had already been paid prior to this so no incentive left to work on it. Later that evening my husband realized he broke one of the pieces to the $100+ faucet. Lowe's kindly gave us the piece and my husband finished the job but that's the last time we will ever use JD Hunter again. When he walked out that door, he lost our business and our respect.

J D Hunter is the WORST!!!! I found them on Home Advisor. They came and fixed a drain clog. They charged me $365 for less than an hour and gave me a 90 day warranty. When my sink clogged again in a month I tried calling them and got no response - only voicemails. I called 5 time each day for 2 days and never got a call back - some warranty! I finally gave up and got a local plumber who cleared the clog and charged me $120. J D Hunter is a real rip-off company - do not trust them.

They are the WORST!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I repeat DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! This is not a real plumbing company. They charged me $200 to clean my main drain and they did NOT do anything! They never cleared anything! They came 3 times to supposedly clear it and nothing was done. The 1st time we thought it was clear so they left and when my husband went to put the toilet back water was still rising. So I called and they came again. The 2nd time they also attempted to clean it then they said they were missing an equipment and would come back in 45mins. 45 mins-1hr passed and they did not return. When I tried to call no one answered but I received a text they were not coming. I requested a refund and they denied stating they would come again. They apparently came a 3rd time when no one was home!! Still drain was not cleared. I have various texts from Aaron stating he was going to refund it and they were sending a check. 2 weeks later and still no refund. They also tried to blame and state my home had bad plumbing but only a good plumbing company would not make any excuses and complete the job!! Look for a plumbing company who actually cares about customers do not waste your time with these people. I will be posting this on every website so everyone who is looking for a plumber does not hire them!

Hired them to unclog a drain, they used a snake to unclog it, they put the pipes back together, charged me $245.00 and were here less then 40 minutes. Out the door they went. When my brother checked the pipes, they were still leaking. Called Home advised back and they had the plimber call me, and I explained that the pipes were still leaking. He told me that he would be back in 30 minutes, after he got finished with another call. Be fore the thirty minutes were up, he called me again and said that I had lost a washer that goes on one of the pipes. there was no washer on that pipe when my brother pulled the pipe off. Anyway, as a plumber, he should have had the parts on his truck. Also, the hot water hose that goes from the water mine to the knob was bad. I had to go to Lowe's to get the part myself. Whey they called, he talked to my brother, and my brother told him that any decent plumber would have fixed what was needed and charged accordingly. The plumber told my brother to talk to his partner, because that was who put it back together, then the plumber hung up. I call home adviser and the new plumber that they put me in touch with, was an excavating company that only did large underground jobs. We found a local plumber. I am not telling the plumbers name for fear of a lawsuit. I would advise to never use these people for your plumbing needs. I am also going to try to get some of my money back. I doubt that I will, but my home warranty will reimburse some of it. Oh, and just a note. After they finished, one of the guys stood out in front of our house and peed in a jug, So very unprofessional. If I could give them no stars I would. And what really got me is they were acting so nice and friendly, and once they got paid, they were out the door and gone as soon as the guy got finished peeing. So sad!

Snookered my tenant into a $300 service call for simple repair. FOLKS, the entire water heater costs only $389. You choose if you want to use this company....

I hired JD Hunter Plumbing quickly because they answered a Home Advisor call for a weekend, emergency water heater replacement. The repairman responded quickly (dropping everything just for me!), explained what needed to be done and collected payment for parts and labor. A couple hours later the new hot water heater (with a large dent) was installed minus a shut off valve and the expansion tank. During the installation of the new heater the hot water line to the laundry tub was made inoperable. Hunter and his crew scheduled appointments to return and finish repairing the laundry line but no-called, no showed three times. JD Hunter himself told me ""his money didn't grow on trees"" and he wasn't responsible for items that broke during the install part of the project. After receiving Hunter's sarcasm I began to investigate and learned several things. First, I was price gouged $350 for the new water heater. Secondly, JD Hunter did not apply for the work permit required by the City of Dayton to do the install work. I also discovered I was one of many people that he had taken advantage of. Home Advisor has many reviews from folks just like me, that have been price gouged and then ignored after an inadequate, sloppy repair job. I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the City of Dayton, Fairborn City Chamber of Commerce and with Home Advisor. If my problem goes unresolved I will speak to Clark Howard's syndicated radio program airing on WHIO - News 7 radio at 6PM weekdays. If you hire Hunter and crew you will be abused and scammed.

To be honest, I have never used this company. HOWEVER, on my way home from work I had an encounter with one of there company vans around 4:30 pm on US 35 just before the junction with 675. I was in the inside lane, I was going faster than other traffic, and the van was following extremely close and motioning for me to get over. I accelerated and they got closer to my rear bumper. So I took my foot off the gas and slowed to 55, the posted speed limit. At that point they made some reckless lane changes and exited on 675. I happened to look over and saw the driver letting me know I was ""number one""...so I smiled and waved.

If their drivers have that much disregard for others, there is NO way I would ever use their services.
