Diana M.More like Stinkley & Sons. Father Binkley ghosted us. Came to the house and said he was going to order us a new water heater bc we were experiencing rust with our hot water. It's been 2 months of unreturned phone calls and messages left with his receptionist (who I believe is his daughter and wife ) and no new water heater. This one left a bad taste in my mouth especially after he gave me the ""we are a small family run business and we don't give you the run around blah blah blah."" I'm an understanding person if you couldn't complete the job - no problem... a phone call back to let me know would have been nice there Jimbo
George D.Hey they actually showed up...that gets 5 stars right there. They were great though. Replacement my oil tank, what a job! They cleaned up and it looks great..as much as an oil tank can.
The service technician prompt and very knowledgeable. He identified some areas of concern that aI will address. I will use them again
Ed M.Had a seasonal AC service done today. Jim and his son spent 3 hours working what appeared to be a problem based on printed specs. Once it was determined that the system was cooling as it should, by thoroughly testing actual performance Jim packed up all the equipment and charged for only a basic service call. He could have charged for far more based on all the testing and time spent. That is an honest craftsman. I would recommend him to anyone that needs plumbing and HVAC service work. I would give 6 stars if it were possible.
Jim and his team are amazing! We have had multiple issues with our heat & hot water this year and they have gone above and beyond the call of duty. They are very responsive, professional, honest and knowledgeable (we have a Navien system). I'm not one that generally writes reviews but it is Friday night at 7pm and Jim returned my call and offered to come out tonight! If I could give Binkley 10 stars, I would!
Good people who know what they are doing and are honest.Response time amazing. Would recommend them to anyone.
Excellent and prompt service
Figured out what was wrong with my boiler when others were stumped
Manhattan N.Wonderful, honest - good humans. I would hire them again and will recommend them to everyone I know.
Thank you!
David A.These are good people, who know what they're doing! I have had many bad experiences with plumbers and HVAC technicians, so I know that finding a company that is trustworthy and capable, is a huge deal. I do not use anyone but J.A. Binkley & Sons, if I can help it. They have earned my loyalty. JIm has often told me that repairs that I thought I needed, were not needed and he has saved me vast amounts of money, steering me in the right direction, rather than charging me as much as he could. They've been there for us in plumbing emergencies, power outages, heating/cooling problems, a new furnace, you name it. They are all courteous and professional. They wear masks and keep things clean and neat. They back up their work and they are all about helping people and maintaining long-term clients. Knowing that we have J.A. Binkley & Sons just a phone call away, brings peace of mind for me and my family, which is hard to put a price on.
When the technician came to perform annual service on my oil furnace he ran a combustion test. He said the results showed that I had a cracked heat exchanger and suggested I call the office to get a quote for a new furnace. He said it's extremely dangerous to continue operating the furnace as is, but dodged all my questions and said there's nothing more he can do.
My suspicions aroused, I hired an independent HVAC plumber who thoroughly examined the heat exchanger and found no cracks. The first thing he noticed was that the heat exchanger was full of ash, despite Binkley saying he vacuumed it. He also find that all 3 gaskets were worn (see photo), which likely skewed the combustion analysis results. I readily paid to have new gaskets installed. Technicians from my new oil company, Blue Flame, also inspected the furnace, ran a combustion test and found nothing wrong with the furnace. If you use Binkley, it pays to get a second opinion before shelling out $6,000+ for a new furnace.
