Island Mann Plumbing came here on Friday afternoon. We had hot water when he got to our house. After 'checking' it he left us with no hot water for the weekend and didn't care. He blamed our electric supply. Two licensed electricians said that he didn't know what he was talking about. Run away from these guys. Run fast.

My husband called the owner and it's been 2 weeks and he still hasn't returned our call.

I used them through my Home Warranty American Home Shield. I paid $125 to American Home Shield and they contracted Island Mann Plumbing. Island Mann Plumbing sent a "plumber" (I could not verify if he is a licensed plumber and his name is not listed with the State of Texas Plumbing Examiners). This individual who goes by the name of "Saint" (if Saint shows up, ask for his Texas Plumbers License card and take a picture, if he doesn't have one don't let him do plumbing work in your home, its illegal, if he is not a journeyman or a master plumber he must be supervised by one directly while doing work in your home) came to my home and meet my elderly father who allowed him in to work on a running toilet and replace a kitchen sink faucet. Saint spent less then 5 minutes (proof from ring camera at door, kitchen and hallway near bathroom) in my home and did nothing. He sent a work order to Home Shield that flush valve needed to be replaced but wrote on my work order that he simply adjusted the chain, no replacement needed and no follow up visit required. Gave myself and Home Shield two different diagnosis while leaving me with no fix to anything and I'm out $125. I feel that he took advantage of an elderly man thinking he could collect from American Home Shield and do nothing at my home thinking I would call again for another service call. Island Mann Plumbing lies to the Home Warranty and leaves the customer with no service while collecting a service call fee. I recommend that if you ever had a bad experience with this company and you use a Home Warranty, make a formal complaint and get your Home Warranty company to stop doing business with them. File a complaint with State of Texas Plumbing Examiners if you feel that you have been cheated, don't let this company do this to another person in our community. BBB, FTC, State Attorney General, don't let any company do this to you or anyone else. Galveston and surrounding areas deserve better.

So, I thought my pilot light in my water heater went out. I say I thought because I didn't really understand how to check a water heater. The pilot light is the small light in the window towards the back. Back to reviewing though. So, we knew we had warranty on the water heater, so I was only expecting to spend $95 for them to come out and evaluate the issue. Yes, $95 just to schedule them to come to your house. So when the guy got here, he began to explain the possibility of an issue with the thermocouple on the water heater and it would be about $500 to fix. Including the warranty items. When I say I was livid...words don't even begin to explain how I felt. So basically we would have possibly paid $595 altogether. That's crazy and I had no idea that was potentially I may have to spend. Thankfully, we didn't have to do it, but it was really a shock because I kept asking how much possibly and I was under the impression that it was covered under warranty, but only parts are covered under the warranty, not the labor.

Would Not Hire This Company!!!!
Island Mann Plumbing overcharge for mediocre work, customer service is rude and unreliable, cause more stress to the homeowner.
If I had known hiring this company would cause more problems, I would have hired a much better, professional company to deal with.
My paraplegic son was without his shower and bathroom for over a month because the company could not get their act together. I was informed by their technician Nick that he would provide a breakdown of the job detailing everything they did to give to my insurance company. He lied to make the sale because when I asked for an itemized invoice to provide to my insurance company, they would Not provide an itemized invoice. They don't want to show that the work they actually did was Not worth the outrageous amount they charged.
The job is still not completed, my paraplegic son has no sink in his bathroom, and my floors are not completed from the water damage I had to begin with.
Also, I found out that the revolving credit they had me apply for Only works with Island Mann Plumbing! :( Great!!! :(
In July, I had them come back out to finish my floors because the water damage ruined my carpet. Their technician Eric had Island Mann Plumbing draw up an invoice, and the project was set in July. Here we are in August, and I just found out that my project was canceled.
No One communicated with me in any way to advise me that my project would not be done!
I am now sending emails, phone calls, and text messages, and no one is Returning my calls or My Money!
I need my money back to hire a better, competent company to finish my water-damaged home. I can't believe how they treat a paraplegic young man or their current customers.
Very Poor Service on the part of Katherine Mann, Nick, Eric, Rudi V., Anthony, and their rude customer service agent who raises her voice and hangs up the call on you.
Please do your homework first; better companies out there can help your family with your plumbing situations.
Customers are already dealing with plumbing sewage backup, water damage, leaks, or other plumbing situations. Also, dealing with insurance claims that take forever, mortgage companies that make you jump hoops to get the reimbursement endorsed, and also dealing with getting the house repaired, customers Don't need Island Mann Plumbing adding to their stress!

My water heaters were not working. The waters heaters are in the attic and there's not any isolation valves on the water heaters! I check them and found there was a leak inside one and relight the other one, Knowing it had a warranty. I called the manufacturer and was given 3 company to call, ISLAND MANN PLUMBING was on the list. On the day they came out they remove the water heater and installed the new one. Work was completed in about 2 Hours! The workers came down and informed me GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS! I ask, WHAT HAPPEN? He stated good news your water heater is installed, the bad news is IT'S THE WRONG WATER HEATER! He stated he took a picture and send it to their BOSS and was informed, it was the WRONG WATER HEATER!
What happens is the parts order go to the warehouse and the warehouse worker pulls the parts and gives the parts to the plumbers, IT WAS THE WRONG WATER HEATER THE PLUMBERS WERE ISSUED, THE WAREHOUSE WORKER DID NOT READ THE ORDER CORRECTLY AND ISSUED THE WRONG WATER HEATER! Now they have to find the correct water heater for my house! But I do have Hot water! The correct water heater was delivered to my house within an hour, but upon opening the box to the water heater it was found it was damaged! Now That water heater has to be return and another issued which took another hour! Now the plumbers have to turn off the water to my house again! Remove the WRONG WATER HEATER that was installed and install the CORRECT WATER HEATER! Now a two hour job took approximately 8 hours to complete ALL BECAUSE THE WAREHOUSE WORKER DID NOT READ THE PARTS ORDER CORRECTLY! Now I have 2 working water heaters with 2 manual isolation valves and 1 with a automatic isolation valve! The plumbers informed me, they can't get on my roof to seal around the exhaust so water will not leak in from the roof when there is a rain storm, which is understandable due to the steep angel! Island Mann Plumbing has a roofer and and he did arrived the next day.
The plumbers and the roofer were nice and were very professional and excellent job!
But and there's always that but! A 2 hour job took approximately 8 hours all because a warehouse worker could not perform his job properly!

BUYER BEWARE!!!! I now realize these guys are total crooks. When I came to Yelp to check them out I see my exact same experience in someone else's review. I had a leak in my closet ceiling. This guy walks in, sticks his head in my closet for less than a minute. He then goes upstairs to the upstairs bathroom and proceeds to tell me I need a whole house re pipe for $8,800. I told him he was a salesman, not a plumber. Boy was I right! He also offered me their ridiculous financing. What a rip off. I told him repeatedly I only wanted the leak fixed. He submitted a re pipe to my home warranty and they denied it. And we had someone else come look and guess what?! It was the hot water heater!!!! He never even checked it. My husband changed out an O-ring for $15. I brought it to Island Scamm Plumbing and they said thank you and they will retrain the employee. Nooooo he is well trained. Apparently this is your business model. I only asked for my service call fee returned and they repair the sheet rock in my ceiling which is a small patch. They refused. Shame on this company.

02/25/2021 Worst experience. First, they lied about the plumbing they installed in my house. They sold me on the emphasis that the pipes are expanding pipes and will not burst in case of a hard freeze. Well, that was a lie! The pipes busted and water was all over my kitchen. Secondly, the crew that came and installed my plumbing (all plumbing in house was replaced) TRASHED my house and yard. I found black rubber gloves everywhere, I found trash everywhere, including all over my back yard and in my walls where they had to remove sheet rock to install new plumbing. Cans, water bottles, food wrappers, chip bags etc all over my property from the plumbing crew. I had asked them to clean it up before they left and they said they would but chose not to. When they removed the old pipes to install the new pipes they had a scrap man come by to take the old pipes away and they decided to break apart the old pipes by hitting them on the ground with other parts of old pipes to where sludge was flinging everywhere and got all over my wood fence. They were going to leave it there caked onto my fence until I noticed it and said something. So, they started to clean off the sludge and when I came out afterwards I saw that instead of scrubbing the wood fence they decided to scrape the wood fence to where now my wood fence is damaged. Pieces of the fence are broken off and the area is rough, ruined and looks really bad. Lastly, they had a plumber trainee with them the first day that they came to remove & replace my plumbing and he proceeded to hit on me, say very very inappropriate things, tried to grab my body and kiss me and then proceeded to expose himself to me. The owner Raymond & his secretary Rudy Bolton yelled at me, spoke over me, were condescending, belittling & just mean......conveniently after I spent over $15,000 with them for my plumbing to be replaced. Raymond is arrogant and unkind. Rudy Bolton is unprofessional, lacks communication skills & is a liar. Don't trust them! Awful & pathetic experience. BEWARE!




03/12/2021 Update: well, hasn't gotten any better it's been issue after issue. I have asked the manager Anthony & other receptionists to have the owner Raymond call me on at least four different occasions and he has never returned my phone calls. What kind of owner does not return the call of an unsatisfied customer?!?? Today I spoke to the manager Anthony and conveyed my frustration and unhappiness with the handling of my issues and he continued to speak over me, not listening to a word I was saying. Just disgusting & shameful. I feel taken advantage of by this company

We called Island Mann Plumbing two days ago for busted pipes in our house. The young man showed up today. We were excited to get water back in our home. Without looking in the attic he walks in and says "this is a total repipe and it's $9000. But you can make payments for $100/Month at 9% interest. And if you sign today, I got a real good deal for you. I'll throw in a tankless water heater for free".

To top it off, I asked when they could start. He said "I'll put you on the repipe or repair list. You mean to tell me you came out here today with NO intention or cabability to fix my home?!?!

Now, my husband and I were actually already considering a repipe. But we also knew cost wise what to expect. $9000 wasn't it. I had two more plumbers come out and both quote me $4500.

DO NOT give your money to Island Mann Plumbing. My neighbor had an appt with him after us and he told the same exact story to her. They're walking in selling repipes. Crock of . If I hadn't gone over there and stopped him my elderly neighbor would have signed her life away while on a fixed income.

This company was dispatched by my home warranty company. Inspected the problems and never returned to perform work. However, falsely submitted report to home warranty that clog was cleared.
