Tory C.Had a brand new Lennox AC installed by Isaac in 2018. The interior evap coil now has a visible refrigerant leak that I have photos & videos of using soap/water to show the leak. Evap coil is still under manufacturer warranty, so it's covered for replacement. However, Isaac won't order parts until they come for a ""diagnostics visit."" This is fine, but they won't schedule that visit until 8 days from now - THEN, they'll order parts and schedule an install another week later. 14+ days to perform a warranty replacement for a broken AC. Meanwhile, it's 95° in my house, and they don't seem to care about that. Cool - thanks guys. Fortunately, Holbrook HVAC was able to come out on the same day, diagnose it, and they are ordering the parts to replace it -- all in less than a week, and well before Isaac can even come for their ""diagnostic visit.""
ISAAC is one of those known names in HVAC, a big business, so I thought I had good reason to trust them to come out and diagnose a problem with my elderly mother's gas furnace. A trickle of water had appeared on the basement floor from the furnace to the drain and that obviously needed diagnosing. The tech was left for about 30-40 minutes to look things over and then tells me that the ""secondary heat exchanger is likely shot."" Hmm. Strange issue to have, considering that unit is behind a seal and that panel wasn't taken off. But we nod and ask what one does about this problem. His response was that the expense to replace it was likely so high that it would be better to just get an entire new furnace unit, and before I knew it he was calling his dispatch to schedule a project manager to speak with us. ""Yikes,"" I think. ""Well, we'll make an appointment and see what they say."" No mention on how much it would cost to repair or replace the current heat exchanger either. I asked for a digital copy of this diagnosis (which was promptly emailed, thank you for that by the way) and I started thinking. After all, a furnace is a huge purchase! Thousands of dollars! I wanted a second opinion.
After some file-searching I found the name of the fellow who originally installed our furnace some 14 or so years ago and asked him to come for a look. He popped the panel off, dug into it and discovered the REAL problem 10 minutes later -- a fan motor that was failing and a leaky seal around the exchanger. He showed me exactly where the visible issues were and I agreed, seeing the wear and tear with my own eyes. Cost to repair? $350, parts and labor included. Our furnace runs perfectly now and will for the foreseeable future. The heat exchanger? Is fine.
My elderly mother, on her fixed income, might have been talked into buying a whole new furnace for no good reason. I'm very disappointed, considering what a reputation ISAAC is supposed to have in our area. We shan't be using them again, and I hope this review encourages others to be very careful about accepting their recommendations on face value.
Rick G.Always happy with Isaac. I have had a warrant contract for probably 20+ years!
Our furnace blower motor burned out yessterday. Called and explained the problem. I was put on hold and after several minutes the call was dropped. I called back, got a different person, told him my call had been dropped, explained the problem again, told him I was not interested in a quote for a new furnace, just a replacement blower motor, he transfered me back to the original person and she told me, in a polite but smug maner that they couldn't be out for about a week. I asked about their advertised open 24 hour emergency service, she just repeated that they couldn't be out for a week. Very disappointed
We had a technician come to the house to diagnose our air conditioning. Jimmy was unbelievably nice, professional and thorough. He talked me through every option in great detail and left me feeling confident that we made the right decision. Thank you!
Called ISAAC today to get a furnace worked on in Canandaigua, the lady told me they were not taking new clients at this time because of their workload. She said to call back in a month or so . lol no thanks ! I will give them one star for answering the phone .
I have had 3 projects done by Isaac (boiler/water heater, stand alone generator, full house insulation and could not be more pleased with the quality of work and the installers themselves.
My latest installation of full house insulation was done over a 4 day period by two men named Kieth & Cordell. Very respectful, always on time and cleaned up everything each and every day.
I recommend this business fully for any project that you have.
I was freezing without heat and they never showed up for their first appointment! When I called, they apologized and rescheduled for the next day, leaving me freezing without heat another night. When they finally came, they flat out took advantage of me. I was charged $658 for their tech to install a $100 part in 45 minutes. Avoid Isaac!
There are some things in life you just want done and others you want done right. When it comes to HVAC I want it done right. I have never been disappointed with the work Isaac has done for me.
Their technicians are always knowledgeable and they take the time to do good work. I have had them at my house in the dead of night during a snow storm and out fixing air conditioning units in the high heat of summer.
Sooner or later I am going to have to replace my aging HVAC units. Isaac are good but some things are just a reality. When that time comes they will be top of my list to talk to.
Very poor communication about appointment time. Ended up waiting 5 hours for the tech to show up after traveling 2 hours to a clients house on the Finger Lakes. Perfect example of how a small local company w excellent service grew far too rapidly and didn't implement quality control measures to maintain the service that created the demand. Customer service training for staff who are communicating to clients and scheduling appointments needs to be dramatically improved. Despite numerous errors on their part, no one seemed to care about the inconvenience this caused. When I complained and finally spoke to a manager I was told that I could reschedule. Totally missing the point and further disrespecting my time and business. You have lost me as a client and my numerous referrals.
