Ironstone came out to the property I am in the process of buying to give me an estimate for costs to repair or replace the plumbing and heating system. While at the property he told me it was more than he expected it would be to look at the property and give me estimate and didn't seem very happy to be doing so. He was very honest about the work that may need to be done and didn't seem like he was going to rip me off but he was quite rude. He informed me he would have to charge me for the time spent at the house which I agreed and asked if he wanted to be paid in cash at that time. He said no that he would send me a bill. He told me he was going to send me an email with the estimate/report over the weekend, Monday by the latest. I never got the estimate and my realtor and I have called several times and left messages and got no call back. Very unprofessional, I would not recommend.

When I needed a new water heater and my then current boiler service company wanted to rake me over the coals, I searched for someone else to do the job. I called Ironstone because they were local and I like to support local business. John came out the next day, gave me a reasonable quote, and had his guys install the new heater when he said he would. When my boiler was due for its annual cleaning I called Ironstone again. Having established a relationship I did not ask up front what the service would cost. Having never paid more than $125 from any company I've ever hired to clean my boiler I assumed the cost would be similar. Nope. Not even close. My jaw practically hit the floor when he requested payment of $325 for a tune up of my boiler that companies advertise they'll do for $89. When I told him what I usually pay he acted shocked. Needless to say I won't be calling John at Ironstone for any of my future plumbing needs.
