I got referred to Iron Horse from my friend who does remodeling. Got a call back pretty quick from Tom and I was able to text pictures of the issues I had with my gate valve. Repairs were done in about 45 minutes and all the neighbors were happy the water didn't have to be off for the 2 hours maintenance told them it would be. He told me how to prepare and what to expect. We found that the valve had actually been dripping behind the wall and had just melted the drywall, he offered to refer me to a drywall guy he's worked with to redo the wall and also explained how I could cover it on my own if I didn't want to pay someone to do it. Tom helped me screw in a plug box for a new disposal when my drill died then mounted. Total cost was explained and fell in line with what we had discussed because other than the drywall no surprises, fell just above the average for other quotes, good price for quality work that I don't have to worry about. Super nice, friendly, cleaned the work area after and explains what was done, and things to look for in a condo as old as mine.

When my water heater broke down and I started calling around for quotes on getting a new one installed, Tom was the only guy who said ""I can come check it out right now"". He showed up on time and did the job that day at a very fair price. While he was working, he pointed out a section of pipe that was in need of some attention. No hard sell, just a recommendation. When I needed some other plumbing work done, I didn't hesitate to call Tom to ask him to do both jobs. Friendly guy, good work, good prices. Highly recommended.

Beware of Iron Horse Plumbing I will not use Iron Horse Plumbing again. Thomas, of Iron Horse Plumbing, was hired to install replacement appliances in my 92-year-old father's condominium. Shortly after Thomas connected the dishwasher, it developed a leak that was not detected until damage appeared in the condominium unit below. Damage to both units was extensive and expensive. Thomas originally agreed to take responsibility for the damage and pay for the repairs. Later, he denied responsibility, refused to pay for the repairs, and threatened court action if he was not paid immediately. I have no trust in a plumber who denies responsibility for leaks in pipe connections that developed soon after he works on them and is so ready to threaten court action.

DITTO, BEST PLUMBER in Honolulu! Tom has been our plumber for four years. We used him to completely redo the plumbing in our home, and also to redo parts of our gas line. We own a house and a condo, and he has been helpful for repairs on both. He is very reliable, professional and easy to work with. He is always very professional, and I have recommended him to friends, realtors, and my condo manager.

The owner Tom is a no frills plumber. He can be a little gruff when stressed but he's a one man show and answers his own phone and does his own scheduling. One thing I've noticed is that if he says he'll do something, his word is gold. He'll work to get the job done, even if it means late into the evening. I had him repair my sink and a leaky toilet. He does a thorough job and cleans up after he's done. The best part is, his prices are reasonable. I highly recommend Iron Horse Plumbing. A few months later... I really thought I found a plumber who was reasonably priced and conscientious. Sorry to report that the owner Tom lacks professional courtesy. I called and inquired about a sprinkler leakage problem and he said he could come the next day. The day he was supposed to show up, he texts to cancel saying he can't make it and call him the next day. I dutifully call, and text him. No response. Finally I call in the afternoon and he gives me a lame excuse about not being able to come because he got delayed at the bank and it was too late in the day. Too late? He's been over at my house at 5:30pm before! Why don't these people just tell me if they aren't qualified to do the job, then I wouldn't wait around all day thinking they will come over?! If he was just up front with me, I would've found someone else right away.
