My wife and I recently bought an older two story home in Sparks. We had been living in the house for about five days when we noticed the ceiling leaking in the kitchen right underneath the upstairs bathrooms. Worried that this might have been a prexsisting problem and we could have a problem with mold we decided to call a plumber. My wife read the reviews hear on yelp and decided to call Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing. Tracy showed up at our house very promptly as so many have commented before. I showed him the leak and before doing any kind of free inspection he let me know that if he couldn't find the problem with the visual inspection that it was going to cost $150 dollars for any further inspection and any damage done to the drywall would have to be repaired by some other professional and couldn't even give me an idea on what it would cost to repair but the supposed good news was that if he found the leak and repaired it that the $150 would go toward the repair of the leak. I reluctantly agreed and after looking at the tub and running the water for about 2 minutes he let me know he would need to cut into the ceiling to find the leak. He started cutting and after cutting out TWO sections of about one foot by three feet he finally found the drain to the tub. he went upstairs turned the water back on and asked me to watch for a leak sense there wasn't one present just by turning on the water after a few minutes of directing water at different areas he found the leak there was no calking around any of the fixtures and let me know that he could do it for an additional $100 thats the part that really gets to me is that they would charge $250 to put calking around to fixtures because remember he said the original $150 would go towards repair as well. I decided not to pay the extra $100. The other reason I am giving such a low rating is for the mess they leave you to clean up by yourself. He didn't bring any kind draping or tarps and asked to borrow some sheets to put on the ground under his ladder to collect the dust and after he got his payment he left no clean up what so ever! You think they could afford a shop vac with how much they charge for calking!!!

My regular plumber was out of reach, so I contacted Hansen Plumbing. Tracy came out promptly and took care of the plumbing needs to my satisfaction. Very thankful for his professionalism and courtesy. I would use them again, if my plumber is unavailable. One side note, Hanson's plumbing costs are on the higher end of the spectrum, so don't expect an inexpensive fix, but they are thorough and responded quickly to get everything done. Thank you.

We got an appointment the same morning we called. Tracy came out and was very friendly and professional. He quickly figured out what was wrong with the hot water in our kitchen faucet. He had all the parts in his truck and fixed everything in no time. He also identified issues with our hot water heater that would have caused major problems in the near future. Would definitely recommend Tracy and IHS plumbing to my friends.

Ralph at Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing arrived quickly for a bid on a semi-major plumbing job. They were one of 5 plumbers I called to get bids on the needed work. Ira Hansen and Sons was the ONLY plumbing company to provide me a written bid on the spot after reviewing the needed work.
Other companies took days to get a bid back to me, one would not give me anything in writing (only verbal) and several didn't even bother to measure anything nor view the inside plumbing that the damage line connects to.
I was beyond impressed with Ralph and his worker and the quality of their work. Ralph seemed very thorough in all that he did. I would highly recommend Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing and they will be my first call in the future if need arises.

Very pleased with the service I received from Aaron @ Hansen and Sons Plumbing. On 06/10/2016 my basement flooded and I had extensive water damage, mold, etc. I have had many adjustors, contractors, landscapers etc to my property to assess the damage and reason for the flood. Hansen and Sons came out and did a free estimate and determined that the previous contractor had installed an incorrect sump pump that was not designed for a basement. He provided an estimate to replace and install within one day and followed up a few times to see if I had any questions. We were finally able to schedule the work yesterday. Aaron was on time, polite, and explained everything. He went above and beyond to test and check the new pump once it was installed and also recommended other things I could do to prevent additional water damage. I really appreciate the knowledge, professionalism, and experience he showed and I feel much safer now than before. Thank you Aaron! :)

Can't say enough good things about this company. From the very first call to job completion, they're excellent.
Tracy did a fantastic job. He was prompt, professional, and an all around great guy. I will definitely use their services in the future.
Five stars.

I had a plumbing problem after hours but it wasn't immediate so I filled out the online form for the appointment. They called first thing in the morning to let me know they didn't have the time I requested but had one close. Tracy showed up an hour earlier than they said he would be here. He was very friendly even showed me how and where to shut off the water if I ever needed to know. He was very quick and professional. I will definitely use them again if I need a plumber.

Our water heater pressure tank was leaking. I called another plumber, but they couldn't send someone out for two days. Ira Hansen and Sons sent Tracy out the day after I called. He discovered that not only was the tank leaking, the hot water return valve, after shutting it off to replace the pressure tank, would not open again, so that had to be replaced too. Tracy worked hard and as fast as these two items would allow. The connecting bolts on both the pressure tank and the hot water return valve would not budge. He had to cut the copper tubing and solder new connections into the line to complete the repair. Unfortunately for us, the original quote of $385 was increased to $489 because of the additional labor. We were surprised that the increase was so much, but pleased to have the job done. Tracy also recommended that we be prepared to replace our water heater in the near future at a cost of $1600 including the water heater and his labor.

Booked an appointment online through Home Advisor. Called the next day to offer a same day appointment late in the afternoon. Tracy, the installer, called and offered to come by earlier. He was friendly and professional. Fair price for the service. Highly recommend, will be using them in the future for all of my plumbing needs.

Got a service call within a couple of hours after calling. Tracy got the job done in a more than reasonable amount of time. He was extremely pleasant and very helpful. Great service overall!
