Company Overview

We focus on all aspects of plumbing repair and renovation. This includes water heaters, faucets, showers, toilets, encased leaks, sewer stoppages, visual camera inspections, leak detection, re-piping, re-routing, gas re-piping, and gas line repairs.

We have been a family-owned business in the Coachella Valley, Hi-Desert, and Inland Empire for five generations. We have a diverse team of male and female plumbing professionals. Our mission is to assist our customers in every possible way.

I am Jim, and I value honesty and am always ready to help. At 16, my grandfather imparted his plumbing knowledge to me. I have passed this knowledge on to my daughter and son, just as their great-grandfather did for me. Our approach is always professional and respectful towards our customers.

I’d like to point out that we collaborate with three home warranty companies and take on over 80 calls a day. We adhere to strict guidelines and regulations set by their contracts regarding what we can and cannot do. The majority of bad reviews are due to warranty companies not covering certain problems, making us the middleman who gets blamed. I do not pay Yelp to highlight my positive reviews, despite their regular outreach. We have our own rating system through the warranty company, which is why we are preferred by them. If we were as terrible as these reviews imply, we wouldn’t maintain these warranty contracts. Thank you.

Now I understand why the rating is so low for this company. They have very unprofessional plumbers. Customer service does not exist. They are very confrontational and crazy. Why would you work in a business when you hate it (This is for the two plumbers that I deal and they hate their life and other) . Avoid using this company at all cost. If the home warranty assign this company ask them to transfer you to a different one. Otherwise, you would be dealing with a few no good people that have no business being in any business.

What a joke. Unfortunately I have an American Home Warranty and they sent out Inter City Plumbing for a simple bathroom faucet leak. A few weeks after the repair, the same issue came back... it came back because they did a poor job in the first place. I would not recommend this company.... and if a home warranty company like American Home Warranty refers them to you... refuse and request another plumbing company... Any OTHER plumbing company.

We were referred to Intercity Plumbing through our warranty company to fix a slab leak. It took 10 days for them to come out. The technician Adrian was late and he did nothing but look around. The next guy, Jim, came out 2 1/2 weeks later. He was 2 hours late. He had equipment to find the leak, but said he had to come later to find and fix it. We had to call the company because we heard nothing from him for a whole week. The company said he was sick and they did not have anyone else to help us. Now we still have a leak, wet carpet, mold, and we had to shut off the hot water!!! Awful customer service!!!

I had a positive experience with Inter-City Plumbing. Mine too was a referral through my home warranty company. Inter-City followed up after the first plumber they sent out messed up a shower faucet repair.
I was contacted by the Desert Hot Springs office and the job was scheduled within the next week. I received notices about my appointment and was able to track the technician on his way to our home. The work was completed in a professional & timely manner. They even did a quick follow-up visit to adjust the water pressure at our request.
Our experience overall was good and we would definitely request Inter-City for any future plumbing problems.

This is my second attempt to have this company come to my home to fix plumbing issues. I have a home warranty plan that sends contractors for a set fee and this is how they have been assigned to me. The first time they sent a plumber that did nothing but bad talk his own company including specific individuals that worked there and secrets about how they operate. He turned in his paperwork stating what I needed done and sure enough the company was doing exactly what he said and were adding things that didn't need to be replaced. It added up to over $1,500.00 in work that was unnecessary. I saved myself money by paying a plumber out of my own pocket to replace my water heater. Come to the second attempt, they couldn't come for over a week and a half and then called me 25 minutes before they were scheduled and said they can't come today and will have to reschedule for next week. Mind you I already took a day off since they said I had to be here and if I didn't answer their call or call back in 15 minutes they would cancel my scheduled appointment. So now I have taken a day off and still have to call out on Monday so I can finally get my work completed. This is the most unprofessional company and horrible customer service. I would never recommend anyone having this company in your home. When your own employee speaks so bad about you, I guess that says it all.UPDATE:: So the company also cancelled my appointment on Monday. The office personnel that make these calls to you to advise that they won't be coming, are quite possibly the rudest women I have come across. They have absolutely no customer service and provide you with no help. My home warranty company finally assigned me to another company and I couldn't be happier. I genuinely feel that this company could benefit from having new office personnel and new employees in the field.

This was a home warranty claim and below is a summary of the unprofessionalism of ICP:

-Joey walks in without a mask
-inspects one of 3 reported problems
-finds an excuse to invalidate my coverage
-makes the problem worse
-claims that I need to cover the expense out of pocket without cause
-proceeds to leave without fixing the issue, leaving worse and says that it's not his problem, that it's mine
-walks out without explaining anything about the other two issues and does not inspect those at all
-Jim, the owner is worse...he said he would call me back in 15 minutes and never does. Even the warranty company has a hard time reaching the company and proceeds with switching me over to an other company.

Avoid this company! They are scamming people!!!

I am a Realtor and have something important to say about this Company.
NEVER, EVER USE THIS COMPANY!! As another review said, and I concur, they are DISHONEST, UNETHICAL, UNPROFESSIONAL AND A BAD TESTAMENT TO THE PLUMBING INDUSTRY.
I have a tenant in the area and the waste disposal was faulty. Jim went out to ""fix"" it THREE times. It was under American Home Shield warranty. It was never fixed and my tenant was getting upset and frustrated. I alerted AHS again (so many times!) and one day, I believe Jim just showed up at her door, with a new disposal in his hands! Neither I, nor my tenant, were made aware of this visit or the fact that a new disposal might be put in.
Jim then asked my tenant, (an elderly lady who knows nothing about home warranties, or how they are supposed to work etc) if she would like an UPGRADED appliance put in. If so, it would cost HER $100!! As she assumed that everything was correct, she said ""yes"" and handed him the $100.00!
If there was any payment to be made, it would have been my (landlord's) responsibility, but I was NEVER MADE AWARE of this transaction until it was too late. Now my tenant was out $100.00. Jim was completely UNETHICAL to have taken this money from my elderly tenant who had no idea about anything, except that she wanted a working garbage disposal!
I immediately got in touch with AMERICAN HOME WARRANTY and asked them to refund the $100. to my tenant, or me whereupon I would send it to her. After MANY PHONE CONVERSATIONS AND A LETTER TO THEIR CEO, outlining this grievance, they absolutely refused to refund the amount or take any responsibility for this unprofessional company they had on their books!
My renewal for TWO HOMES was due. I pointed out to them they could lose my renewals for over $1000.00 for the sake of $100.00!! AHS refused to comply and said I should get it back from Intercity. I wouldn't even go there, knowing the reception I would get to that request! So I did not renew my Contracts, and would never again use them or, more importantly, refer them to my Clients, which I have done many times in the past. I have now taken my business to another Home Warranty Company, in the hope they do not use such a plumbing or any company like this one.
Needless to say, I personally have refunded the $100. to my tenant, who should never have been put in this position.
So my advice to readers here: DO NOT USE AMERICAN HOME SHIELD OR INTER CITY PLUMBING if you want good service and professional dealings!

This was a referral with my Insurance AHS. I had a water leak in my master bathroom toilet water shut off valve was leaking. This company scheduled me really quick. The office staff was really nice and the repair person Mathew fixed the repair really quick and seemed very knowledgeable. He also looked at other repair needed for my other leak hopefully insurance covers it.

If I could leave a zero star review I would. Absolutely horrible workmanship and customer service. They were dispatched to our home and scheduled appointment one week later. Adrian showed up and complained the whole time he was there saying everything in our home is broken because it's old (mind you our home isn't even that old). Left some items pending because he said he ran out of parts. The ""fixes"" he did do were awful. Sinks continue to leak and showers do as well. After a week he returned to repair remaining items. This time he lied and said remaining items were old and improperly installed by the builder. He said he would have to confirm with our warranty company if items were covered. We called the warranty company two week later because we didn't hear back from anyone. We were told by AHS that Intercity plumbing never submitted any documents. When we called Intercity plumbing they said items weren't covered but then were caught in their lie when I asked how come AHS said nothing was submitted to them. Dispatcher said she would look into it and get back to us. As of today we have heard nothing. They literally made things worse and then disappeared. I will be reaching out to the BBB. Save yourself the stress and heartache and avoid these frauds!
