Company Overview

Skilled Irrigation Specialists
1. Installation of irrigation systems
2. Sprinkler repairs, backflow testing, and winterization services.

We offer a one-year warranty on parts and labor for all new sprinkler systems we install.
In the summer of 2018, we founded Inland Sprinklers & Landscaping to provide exceptional service to the Coeur D'Alene community for their sprinkler and landscaping requirements.
Kim was a student of Mike's entrepreneurship class in the 90s.
Mike was a business owner, and Kim worked underground for years.
Before selling, Mike operated a different sprinkler company for more than a decade.
In 2017, Kim and Mike came together again to embark on the venture of Inland Sprinklers and Landscaping.
Their aim is not to be the largest company in town, but to be the most effective.
Our main emphasis this year (2022) is on installing and repairing sprinklers, as well as conducting backflow tests and blowouts.

I appreciate Inland Sprinklers starting from dealing with Nicole on the phone who happens to be a class act and Kim had come to my home and helped me with an issue I had that NOBODY could identify. He is extremely knowable and professional.
I look forward to using them for all my sprinkler and irrigation needs!

They do the minimal required during blowouts. Don't check your sprinklers and don't care if they work or not. When asked how much they charge to fix sprinklers I was quoted the ridiculous amount of $75 per hour and parts. This company is very lazy and dishonest.

Truth is not their strong point. Very difficult to work with. Work was mediocre. Would not recommend.

RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

If I could opt to give no stars, I would. First off, I had to call and leave a message (they never answer) just to get an appointment set up to have our sprinklers turned on after winter. I finally receive a text a few days later, granted it was a holiday weekend, so it likely took a few extra days. Fine. The text message was vague stating that I would be on the schedule for the next day. No time frame, nothing.

So, what apparently is the owner and another person arrived at my house this morning without a text or phone call ahead of time (I didn't get names). They simply showed up unannounced and wanted to get this job done and on to clearly more important jobs. I work from home and was in the middle of a meeting and was agitated and caught off guard that a courtesy call was not given. Apparently they could tell. They asked if I wanted my water turned on (ours is located inside our crawlspace). I said yes, but it's inside so my husband will do it. There was a breakdown in communication because apparently ""turn the water on"" means ""turn on water, check all sprinkler zones, make sure all is functional, etc."" This difference was not explained to me (although in a phone call later between my husband and the owner I am apparently a liar.). The entire reason I called in the first place was to have my sprinklers turned on (it was in my message I left). Well, once the water was turned on, they did the backflow and were on their way in record time (2 minutes or less) without another word to us. They didn't stop to thank us for our business, tell us they'll send us a bill, nothing. And yes, we did get a bill this afternoon...and despite this atrocious experience, we have already paid for the ""cheaper"" option.

About 10 minutes after they left, my husband noticed one of our zones going off in the backyard. Our system is still set to off from winter and we were unable to turn the zone off. The fact that any sprinklers were going at all is surprising since it was only a back flow test. I'm not sure how it works but they obviously switched something on to activate the zone. So we called several times (no answer again). We texted and got a response that the owner would call us after he finishes his next job. There wasn't an apparent urgency to help the situation that they caused. We ended up having to just turn our water off in the meantime.

The owner finally calls my husband a bit later and it is clear from the start that a resolution is not what he called for. He called to argue and prove he was ""right."" My husband tried to explain the breakdown in communication but he didn't care. He informed us that ""we made the choice for the cheaper option (just the back flow) and it is not his problem that it is now biting us in the butt."" He also let us know that he did not have time to come help us because he has a full schedule and we need to deal with our choice. My husband stayed calm the whole time attempting to resolve this. The owner did not want to resolve this issue. Before abruptly hanging up on my husband, he let my husband know that he won't help and we need to call someone else to fix this. Apparently business is so good, he can afford to lose a customer. I guess unless you are a big bucks customer, you are disposable to this company. The owner made this clear by continually telling us that since we chose the ""cheap"" option, we are just going to have to figure it out. Their statement from their website that ""Ultimately, our end result is a happy satisfied customer"" must only apply if you are doing a high cost job and not the ""cheap"" option for spring turn on. Everyone needs to keep in mind that they do not know what others are going through in these ever-changing times and as often as he mentioned ""cheap"" option and we wanted ""to save a buck,"" he belittled us and made us feel as though we didn't matter. If that was the goal, then mission accomplished. I'll make sure to spread this wherever I can and through word of mouth.

These guys are great! They designed our backyard system and it works perfectly. Their bid was very competitive. I watched their crew the entire day and their commitment to quality work was obvious. I called them about some dry spots about a month later, and they had someone out to make the adjustments the same day. Impressive! Mike and Kim are clearly interested in quality and satisfying customers. Believe it. You won't go wrong with these guys.

Update: kim and the other owner (mike, I believe), reached out to me. They offered to come out and make any other necessary repairs needed to my yard, which are virtually none. They came by within the same day as speaking with me on the phone. They informed me that they are extremely short staffed and ask existing customers to reach out via email, which I was unaware of before. I'll do that moving forward. While out at my house they wrote me a check to reimburse me for the expense of hiring the other company. Overall I am satisfied with their effort to repair our relationship and I appreciate their reimbursement for my expenses. I asked them about scheduling my blowout/winterization for the coming season, and they said they would reach out to me in the coming weeks. So I hope to hear from them, if not, I'll send an email.

And an edit to my previous post: my grass is green and lush now. It was brown when installed but looks amazing now after 2 seasons of good and consistent watering. I wasn't going to write a bad review until I learned about the drip line issue. That is what pushed me over the edge to report all my grievances with them.

We had our yard done by inland in spring 2020. Kim and the other man who came out to bid our project were very nice. They got us scheduled for sprinklers and sod in 3/4th of our yard. Leaving an area clear for a deck and play yard, and 3.5 feet wide of planter beds around the perimeter fences. Everything seemed fine as they did the sprinklers. But then the ground wasn't completely flat for the sod. They laid down completely brown, dead looking sod. It was INFESTED with spiders. I didn't think to complain because I felt like it must be normal, since I don't know grass stuff and they do. Fine. The sod we laid on bumpy ground, and still to this day, there's bumps and holes in the yard under the sod. One corner of the yard completely floods every time the sprinklers turn on. I tried to contact them in fall 2020 to do my sprinkler blowout and after several calls, I finally got through to them. I brought up some of my concerns and they said they would deal with it in spring. I didn't see them do the blowout, so I'm not convinced it even got done. When I questioned this, the receptionist was less than helpful. Come spring 2021, I tried to contact them to turn the water back on, with no reply. I was able to contact one of their former employees, and he said the company had received many complaints along the same lines of my complaints. He turned my sprinklers back on and did a small repair. It's now the end of summer 2021 and I have dont gotten a return call from inland sprinklers or their former employee.
I got another company to come and look at our drip line that was installed by inland and they found out IT HAD NEVER BEEN CONNECTED TO OUR WATER MAIN! They had to install a line from the water main in the front yard to the backyard drip system! I'm so completely disappointed and disgusted with this company. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone.

I highly recommend Inland NW to anyone looking for landscaping and irrigation. Our job included a little bit of everything (irrigation, rocks, sod, flowers, plants & trees).

Our area is growing probably faster than landscaping companies can keep up. This initially concerned me prior to having the job done because I thought ours might be rushed. This was absolutely not the case, in fact it was the complete opposite.

From my first interaction with Inland NW starting with the scheduling department, to getting a bid on the job from the owner Kim, to installation of plants and irrigation, everything was five star service.

The team that came to do the the yard consulted with me every step of the way and made sure that I was happy and gave their professional recommendation as to placement of plants and trees (which I truly appreciate since I am not in the landscape business). Right away you could see they do quality work and don't cut corners or rush the job, they take as long as it needs to make it perfect. During the span of the three days that it took to complete the job, the owner stopped by at least three times to check in and make sure everything was going as planned and we were happy. Once completed, the team took the time to explain how to work the new sprinkler box and how to take care of each individual plant and grass. With Inland NW, you will get not only get a team who are very good at what they do but also take pride in their work and give you the yard of your dreams.
