I was hoping we could come to resolution and that I wouldn't have to write poor reviews, but it's clear we are at an impasse. There's not much else to say other than they STOLE OUR MONEY! Thousands of dollars. We engaged an attorney to help us get it back, and they have not responded. They WILL be seeing us in court.
Aside from that, they (Carelis and Ian) are the worst communicators you will ever encounter even when things are going well. They also do not properly plan or budget for things not going perfect. As you have seen in other reviews, this is not an isolated incident. We did everything we could to try to work with them and give them the benefit of the doubt. Clearly not a reputable company and absolutely no integrity. DO NOT USE.

This issue started back in January of 2018, we signed a contract with IM Home LLC to have our master bedroom/bathroom/great room remodeled. The original contract listed all the work to be completed with 50% down at signing (paid at signing), 40% after rough-in, and 10% upon completion. Work on the project did not start until August of 2018 due to various issues on both our side and the contractor's side. Once the work started, the progress was moving along as I expected, rough-in was completed on 9/13/18, and the additional 40% given to IM Home. It was around this time that we noticed the first lull in progress. It was about this time that Ian Murillo (GC) started to complain about the price his subcontractor, Red, was charging him. There were also some signs that the product was not quite turning out the way we hoped. The tile that we had agreed on did not quite look like what we thought it would and we expressed this to Ian and his Project Manager, Carelis Randall. Things slowed down to the point that there was a week (11/3 - 11/10) where no one showed up. On 11/8/18, Ian wrote an email that said: ""We regret to inform you that we have gone over our original bid. We sincerely apologize for the over-sites on the updating of actual labor & details of designs. We have gone over our original bid with higher labor & line items that we didn't actually include to update after designs were final."" Blah, Blah, Blah...""We bid your project originally almost two years ago (Totally FALSE, see above for bid date) with Subs that their pricing was more economical . MORE MONEY REQUESTED, shame on me for giving it to them!!! We were, of course, very disappointed but reluctantly agreed to absorb the costs outlined (with a few changes) and gave IM Home LLC a check for the additional requested costs (total is now at nearly $5000 over the original price). After that, not much work at all occurred. On 12/9/18, I sent an email to Ian and Carelis with a list of things that we felt were done incorrectly (punch list). Again, no response and no one showed up to perform any work. On 12/15/18 (4 months since starting!!), Carelis responded with a list of when things would be done and also a couple of things that we had to choose from. A couple of minor things were done. On several occasions, we asked Carelis/Ian for updates on the wood floors and when the rest of the work would be completed, empty promises. On 1/2/19, we once again asked for an update and on 1/3/19, Carelis wrote with another apology about the subs taking time off and the holidays causing delays but they were hoping to get things done and provided timeline (again??). On 1/14/19, Ian sent an email stating he was sorry and was out of town but here is what was left to do, but they would be getting the items completed soon. Three days later, Ian writes and says that he cannot afford to finish the job and it has been a hard year for him. We are out more than $15000 and according to some of his subs, no pay for them. This is like a licensed ROBBERY!!

We recently posted a review for IM Home that was filtered out of the main view by Yelp, possibly because I have not done many reviews on this site. I'm reposting to help others make an educated decision. We hired IM Home to do a fireplace remodel in our home - from demoing the existing fireplace to installing the new one and rebuilding the surrounding frame. It included plumbing, electrical and tile work. The job went very poorly. The most important thing for another potential customer to know is that the fireplace - the new gas insert - would not turn on when the project was ""complete."" Both Ian and his subcontractor said they would be back to ensure it was fixed and both chose not to come back and fix it. Both stopped communicating with us. We had to hire another professional to fix the fireplace, who also showed us the many other mistakes made with the installation, from the wiring to the vent placement and even missing parts. This is the biggest issue we faced but not the only one. Our project should've taken only 2-3 weeks of Ian's team's time. Instead they dragged it on for several months, fitting us in for a couple days of work here and there, between other big projects. (We were informed - one of the many excuses we heard - that they ""no longer take projects this small."") The fireplace frame was built to the wrong measurements and is crooked. The work completed was often rushed and sloppy; we still have a bump in the wall where plaster was applied and not properly sanded before being painted. I have text message, email, picture and witness proof of everything I've stated here and this is only a small summary of what we experienced. I highly recommend that you explore other contractors for you renovation work.

I had Ian redo a guest bathroom and am extremely happy with the results. He was professional throughout and made sure to offer suggestions to make sure I'd be happy with the finished result. The job was done timely and on budget, would definitely use his services again.

We hired this company for a complete TREK deck rebuild for $24K last fall. Despite initial reservations as a result of references they provided, we contracted with them because of a family connection. The project went $2K over budget and 3 weeks over schedule with a design poorly executed. Initially, they left gaps in the handrail and required cutting a major tree that the stairs were to be built around. They were also apparently unfamiliar with code requirements as the City Inspector failed the initial inspecton because of non compliant handrails. As a result of going over schedule there was snow on the ground when they finally finished. They trashed our yard and didn't pick up fully after themselves. They treated the yard like a construction site rather than a finished residential property so much so that when we cleaned up in the spring we collected a full trash bag of left over construction materials. The onsite foreman has said it was a top to bottom warranty including finishes. Unfortunately, 6 months from completion date we contacted them regarding peeling finishes on the redwood surfaces only to be told they wouldn't stand by their warranty. The company's on-site foreman returned to inspect and agreed that the surfaces appeared not to have been sealed and had degraded sooner than it should. He agreed they should be refinished but deferred to the owner, Ian Murillo . Structurally, the deck is sound but their business practices leave much to be desired. Pictures available.

I had initially come in contact with IM Home through matchnest.com after months of trying to find a general contractor directly to repair a water leak on our deck. Ian and Mark were quick to come to take a look and both provided reasonable expectations what type of repair would be required. The initial quote was on the higher side, but came in under budget and I found their pricing copletitive. I also had them complete some smaller repairs inside our home and the quality of their work was great. The only area that could use some improvement is providing scheduling a few more days in advance and providing a courtesy call prior to arriving to complete work. Overall, I would recommend them for your home improvement needs!

I recently contracted Ian and his crew from IM Home to replace our fence. He and his crew did an excellent job designing and building our fence and stairs. Their prices are competitive, and their attention to detail, design suggestions, and craftsmanship exceeded our expectations. They were able to start our job quickly and completed major phases, working around rain days, to get the fence installed with minimal impact on us and our neighbors. Their communication was excellent. We couldn't be more pleased.

We recently contracted Ian and his team to do a renovation on our bathroom and kitchen in our vacation home. He was professional, kept us update on the progress of project and really seemed to care about our feedback. Before we chose him, we felt alot of contractors wanted to do what they felt was best for them and their workload and didnt give much thought to our ideas for our home. Communicating long distance, required alot of trust and after seeing the final result, I can say it was very worth it. We will definitely use him again on our future projects.

IM HOME, LLC is a wonderful construction choice. Ian, the owner, is a reputable, experienced, kind and talented general contractor and he is highly skilled and trustworthy. He is professional, hard working, honest and experienced. I would trust IM HOME, LLC and Ian M (the ""IM"" initials of IM HOME), with any project, whether corporate or residential. I can personally attest to the workmanship and professionalism. With a special talent for design and detail, this choice is the way to go. Our project was also bid below many competitors, with more features and personal attention. A rising star in the Denver metro/ Front Range area!

If I could give negative stars I would ! After dragging on a three month remodel for handicap accessibility Mark Vargas and his team disappeared with check in hand. Shame on me for paying ahead of time! If you want a horrible job, bad craftsmanship, and no regard for your property then use these guys. If not, don't even bother looking any further. If you are foolish enough to go with them watch the ""hourly"" rate and get a contract and estimate in writing. They are anything but reliable or professional. As for a reference - Hell No ! Now on to find someone else to finish the job and someone to haul away all of the debris left behind.
They run MI Builder LLC and IM Home and Delgado Landscape - beware !
Per Ian's comment below - Mark Vargas is his partner - the ""M"" of both businesses. Last year Ian and Mark installed hardwood floors in my home and due to lack of professionalism there was no contract. Ian immediately ran to the back to cash the checks before the ink had dried! As I have said, beware! The guys on the crew are the ones that will work for you as well.
