Nice people working there but a rip-off. Over $150 for 15 mins work to shut the system down after I took care of shutting the water off in the basement. Avoid!

Be aware of these thieves. They will rip you off. I contacted them for checking and repair of my sprinkler system. After cancelling the initial appointment, First guy came and told me that almost all the heads are bad and needs to be replaced. I told him that almost all of them are brand new and asked him what is wrong with them? He had no good answer. He did some small repair and gave me a verbal bill of approximately $1200 just for the worked he did on that day and warned me that it may exceed more that 1500-2000. He refused to finish the work. Few days later another guy came and told me that there is nothing wrong with the heads and first guy did not know what he was talking about. He did some quick adjustment of the heads and did not finish the work. First guy came back again on the next day and wanted to change all the heads and I told him the second guy warned me that there is nothing wrong with the heads except one and should not be changed. So he left angrily. Second guy came back again and did some work and again and did not finish the work. We found some leak at the relay station and he refused to finish fixing it. And mentioned that it will need another visit. So far I got 1200.89 bill which I already paid and my system is still leaking and all heads are not properly adjusted and there are many dry spots on the lawn. I called them first in April and now it is July and they did not finish the work. The tactic this company plays is that they will not finish the work in one visit. They will lie to you and will give you an impression that there are many major problems and if you confront them, they will change the story. They lie and deceive and rip you off. Extremely dishonest and not competent. BE AWARE. This company should be reported to BBB.

I was in the process of selling my house and had already moved out. I set a date for them to come to the house and they never showed up. They claimed they would call ahead but that never happened. I set another date that no one showed up for and when I called they said it would be the following day on a Saturday and that they would call ahead. I told them that a few days earlier I had lost my 14 yr old daughter and to please show up. They never showed on Saturday and when I looked them up they did not have any weekend hours so they lied even when I explained the situation. My daughters funeral is tomorrow and I can't believe that they would handle a customer like this under any circumstances, but especially under my circumstance. I will let the new owner of the house know not to use their services and I will have a friend show up at their offices in person on Monday morning. I cannot deal with them anymore.

Avoid this company.
They are very expensive for basic opening and closing (almost double the price of a few, more reputable competitors).

They initially came out to bid adding on to my existing system, which they originally installed a few decades ago. They ballparked an amount which was a little high but within 10% - 20% of a few competitors. I waited over a month for a formal bid and decided to call them. The next day, they emailed a bid for almost double the amount they told me! I replied back questioning the amount and have never heard from them.

While waiting for the bid, I had them come out, open the system and inspect all the heads and equipment. They told me almost every head needed to be replaced, that almost all were broken and even the functioning heads were too old and needed newer heads. I noted that the first guy who came out to bid new work said he personally replaced a dozen or more heads and that we should be in good shape. But the tech insisted everything was original and needed replacing. He mentioned the new heads were obvious because they had a distinctive red circle on the nozzle.

After he left, I found that he did not flag or find several heads (which I had to do myself). He claimed to have found some heads and marked them as broken, yet the flags were more than a foot from the actual sprinkler head and the head never came up because there was too much mud/debris on top. When I cleared the ground, several ""broken"" heads popped up and worked just fine. Also, almost a dozen of the ones he did find, were the newer models with the red circles (which he flat out lied about).

The backflow valve was broken and had not been inspected in almost 2 years (system has been shut off for more than 5). The county had not reached out about missing inspections as we had fallen off their radar (which I hear is common). When the tech noted they needed to replace the valve, along with almost every ""broken"" sprinkler head, I guess they decided to let the county know so we have the added pressure of getting the work done to pass the inspection within a short window or face fines/penalties because ""coincidentally"" within a week of having the appointment, the county notified us that we were delinquent on the inspection.

So, they're overpriced, dishonest, don't perform the work they bill you for and use shady tactics like calling the county and reporting you, so you feel pressured to pay them to due the work. Like I said, avoid this company.

I've used this company for a few years to open and shut off my sprinkler system. They've done good work at average prices, no complaints. However, I would suggest avoiding them for any sprinkler repairs or other extensive work, basically anything more than a simple sprinkler shut-off or turn-on routine procedure.

Firstly, they don't have an estimator and the guys who do the repairs only (conveniently) provide verbal estimates. I was told that it would take a maximum of 12 total hours by a 2-person crew (6 hours each) and that the total would be $1100 at the highest, but likely nowhere in this range if they work fewer hours.

One guy worked for 2.25 hours and the other one showed up, smoked a cigarette, and worked for 1 hour. Despite working about 75% less than their maximum time, I received a bill for $1058 with an internal note that was left over, showing ""customer authorized work up to $1000"". Two local competitors analyzed the invoice and told me that it was a $500-$600 job tops based on parts and labor. Hydrodynamics charged $92/hour PER PERSON and $700 for parts, which were mostly plastic sprinkler heads, (about a 400% markup on quite a few of them compared to even retail online pricing).

To be fair, the owner was nice enough, called me back, gave me a discount on parts that brought the total to $880 and thanked me for my suggestions on hiring an estimator, hence the extra star for trying to salvage the situation. I understand that we all need to make money, but I like clear communication and clear estimates, so that I can make a decision on whether I want to work with your company.

This company has been around for a while, but I have to wonder if they are under new management? They are VERY expensive and have done mediocre work. I recently had new , expensive landscaping installed. They put soaker hoses around the new plantings and I have had noting but problems since then. Some plants actually drowned. The landscaping was,in the ground for 3 months and looked perfect. I added the soaker hoses, and half the plants died. Then they clearly cut the wires for my landscape lighting. My lights keep shorting out. The first person they sent out to repair them was totally clueless. This was literally a 10 minute fix- ( when they finally sent the right person)- yet I was billed almost $500. They charged about 40% more than an accredited electrician!! Then they raised the shut down cost by almost 30% in one year. I have a fairly small yard - yet people who have 4x the yard are all charged the same. This doesn't make sense to me. I'm just tired of getting ripped off. I'm a new customer- but think they lost me.

We switched our irrigation service from another company several years ago and have been very happy with Hydro Dynamics. The people in the office are so friendly and accommodating and the service technicians are excellent. We had a situation where the water remained on even when the panel showed the system was off. It was caused by a lightning strike that damaged a solenoid. Though not a common occurrence, they found the issue and fixed it. Their rates are fair and service is great.

I have never really thought about our sprinkler system until we had problems. Our current company was unable to solve our issues and I got a recommendation from my friend about a company called Hydro Dynamics. Wow! They came out and solved my issue immediately. Bill was our tech and couldn't be nicer. Not to mention they handled a water drainage issue we've had for a while. Thanks Dave! Great company.
