STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

I'm currently a college student living with my aunt. She's 64, Korean, 0-gen immigrant and the sweetest lady you'll ever meet. I come home to her crying after the worker came by this morning. She's been trying to get her shower fixed for over a year now and never saved up enough money for it-- and today she finally called this place to have workers come and get it fixed. Her and her husband had been using this place for 10+ years and after he passed they scammed her once already-- and this time again. The worker said they charged hourly rates and did not specify that they were also going to charge for however long it took for them to get to her house-- she bought all the supplies herself and estimated that it's going to take an hour, but the guy charged her for two and a half hours for the time it took for them to get to her house (we live in calabasas). The worker lodged a piece in the piping and couldn't get it out, and when he left the shower was still leaking and he said he couldn't get it fixed and told my aunt to just run to Home Depot to do it herself (literal bs) and she stood in front of the leaking shower all wet trying to get it done for like an hour and a half. She got charged $230 and her stuff didn't even get fixed at the end of the day and she had to call someone else over to do it for only $60. She was originally scared to have other worker come over to get it fixed cause she was alone in the house at that time and finally decided to try with this one again, but this is literally the worker blatantly leaving out details about pricing, overcharging her for basic piping work, and then proceeding to not even get the job done. BS.

I have used Allen Plumbing for over 10 years. Robert and Andrew REALLY know their business. There has never been anything they couldn't fix/install with perfection. Robert and Allen Plumbing are awesome! He arrives in a timely fashion, assesses the situation quickly, and gives an estimate that is reasonable. My hubby and I were going to remodel our kitchen late 2018, but we had a drain issue in early 2017. Robert applied a temporary fix that he said would be good until we remodeled. Hadnt had a drain problem since. When we remodeled Robert came and did the final repipe for the drain. Amazing work. I would recommend him in a heartbeat! Once you go with Allen Plumbing you'll have your plumber for life!

We used them a couple of years ago to snake our sink and the plumber was nice, but he spent a lot of time complaining, and drawing us diagrams rather than focusing on the job. We had them come out recently to snake a drain, again with the diagrams and lengthy discussion. He could not get it unclogged and wanted to consult a specialist. Instead I looked up another plumber, and they cleared it with a standard snake in 15 minutes. I was happy to pay Allen Plumbing for their effort to try, but was shocked when they sent me a bill for $275 considering they failed to snake the drain. In sum, I paid Allen $275 for hours of complaints and no progress. I paid another plumber $80 to snake my drain in 15 minutes.

Stay Away! This is the first review I have ever written for I usually let things go but not in this case. I am not going to get into the details but my home warranty company put me in touch with this HW Allen Plumbing. The first things they wanted was payment before they even conducted any work. They were at my house for no more than 15 minutes before they left telling me that they had to get in contact with the insurance company for they did not have the equipment or capability to do the job. Would never recommend and Andrew who answer the phone better learn better customer service rather than acting as a ""know it all"" when he doesn't know the facts. Customer Beware!

They misdiagnosed the cause of a plumbing problem, which resulted in significant damage. I called two days after they ""fixed"" the problem to tell them it wasn't fixed. They wanted me to pay an additional service charge to come back.

I had a bit of an odd project that was not necessarily plumbing, per se: I was trying to build a desk, using 1"" black pipe for the legs. I don't know how many places I went across the Valley until I was finally referred to H.W. Allen. Black pipe is available many places; the problem was that I needed the pipe custom cut to size and threaded. The moment I pulled up to the workshop, I knew I had found the place that would be able to help me. Andrew was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable (and didn't give me a skeptical look like many of the places that I went), and provided *exactly* what I was looking for in a timely manner. It seems like it's getting harder and harder to find places that provide good--let alone outstanding--service, but Andrew and H.W. Allen delivered. I literally can't recommend them highly enough!
