I would give 2.5 stars if it were an option. Vicki was very nice and professional. She worked with us and was very accommodating. However, there are a few things that should have been done differently.
1. There should have been some sort of contract written up that included an itemized quote. Yes there was a quote, but that's all we got. The quote states ""plus materials."" I get that, but we should have been provided with a breakdown as to how much they expected the grand total to be. I attached a picture of our original quote.
2. We had to pay out of pocket TWICE for the debris to be taken away, once by them and once by Got Junk. That should have been included in the quote.
3. The original quote said ""rip out and rebuild deck."" We asked them to add boards to the frame so that the joists were not further than 16 inches apart. Richy told me that the frame was not part of the quote. Is the frame not part of the deck? They did end up adding boards, but they added boards to the side of the joists that were already there. They should have added joists between the existing ones to lessen the space between. There are still a couple spots where the space is more than 16 inches.
4. They should have put the fencing up THEN added the Trex boards around the bottom. I think it just doesn't look good.
There are some parts that I'm very happy with. They completely refinished the pillars, and they turned out amazing. I also love the railing they picked out. I like the finished porch, but I wish I could say I love it. Lesson learned on our end. Always go with an actual construction company for big projects.
