Michelle n.UPDATE: clearly you can see how professional these people are (look at their response!) I don't understand how they are NOT to blame when they never attempted to even check any pipes or snake. Smh. The guy they sent out said he didn't even deal with snakes. So ANYWAY. The plumbers who took care of the issue used a STANDARD SNAKE and said that length was covered by warranty and that HURST should have even tried. Again they were flabbergasted. So they're Clearly talking out their ass now. And really, if what they are claiming is true, tell me why the BOARD OF INSURANCE sided with me and home warranty had to cover my unclogging because it in fact WAS A STANDARD CLOG AND COVERED BY WARRANTY and ALL IT NEEDED WAS A STANDARD SNAKE THE FIRST TIME ? owner could have just issued an apology but is so unprofessional, he had to leave a rude response
They screwed me over with my home warranty.
Unfortunately, my home warranty uses them. We needed service on a main drain clog. FIRST off they sent the wrong type of plumber out (yes, apparently, there is a difference). He said his work order only said ""toilet broken"" and they figured it was just a broken flapper (*EYEROLL*) but i needed a snake which he didn't have. He said he needed to call it in and wasn't sure if a snake would reach. And i told him, it should reach because we've had our drain snaked before and it worked.
So, He flushed one toilet in my house and then he leaves, we do not hear anything for DAYS. Mind you, my toilets have not been able to flush properly and we have a family of 6. So i tell home warranty, they tell me they are waiting for Hurst. So i give it another day. Then ask Home Warranty again. Home warranty suggested to call them. I call Hurst and they tell me they already sent the report. So here is where they EXTREMELY effed up. They tell my home a warranty that based on their ""professional opinion"" , I needed a WHOLE NEW main drain created on the other side of my house, in order to snake the problem which is obviously not covered by my home warranty. Apparently they claimed my drain was too far to reach through the whole house. Which i asked, how do they even know? They never even ATTEMPTED TO TRY. Besides the fact that we have had it done before and it WORKED. So of course my home warranty declined it. I had to call a REAL plumber, (message if you need the number.. guarantee those guys know what they are doing!!) who came out the SAME day and said he CANNOT BELIEVE they did not even try. and GUESS WHAT? He fixed the problem with a standard snake and even gave me a discount of HURST's STUPIDITY.
Dishonest is putting it nicely. Referred by my home warranty for a leak upstairs in the bathroom. Had lengthy discussion with Ramon about the source of the leak and how to find it. Ramon recommended putting a hole in the ceiling of the closet immediately downstairs so the source of the leak could be found. Told me that's what his report would indicate needed to be done. My home warranty said Hurst plumbing reported there was no leak! Seriously? And they got paid to lie! Wow, I don't know how such a dishonest business stays in business.
Very disappointing experience with Hurst thru First American warranty. I don't know how and why the experience has been so poor - perhaps because there's First American involved in between. The contractor did not communicate via email, does not answer phone calls, does not return voice mail and gives no estimates. I have a broken faucet and an upset tenant - it should not take 15 days to replace a simple faucet. These guys are not professional & do not care. Would NOT use them again.
WARNING! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
This company was assigned by our Home Warranty company to replace our water heater. They were slow to respond and bad about communicating with us. We had to pay about $600 for ""modifications"". After they were done, we checked the new heater 2 days later and it was leaking like crazy! Of course it was a Saturday and they had no weekend service. We hired an emergency plumber to repair the poor work done by Hurst Plumbing.
When I called Hurst Plumbing the next week to request a refund for the emergency repair work we had done, they refused to respond. I called and emailed them a few times, but they never got back to me. They never apologized or took any responsibility for their work. In fact, they told me they were ""offended"" when I first called to complain. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Hurst Plumbing still refused a refund. This company does not care about customers. They will do a crappy job and leave you in the lurch. Too bad there's no 0 star rating.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. This is my first time writing a negative review on Yelp but I could not help myself. This company is hands down the worst company I have ever worked with. They have been out to my house on 3 occasions before due to my garbage disposal leaking underneath the sink and backing up. Each time they poured my own soap down the drain and said it was fixed in a matter of 30 seconds and charged us $75. The third time they came they said it needed to be replaced because it is leaking. Then they said someone would call me the next day to schedule an appointment. What do you know. They never called. 2 days later I called over 14 times and finally left a VM. NO call back ever. Just kept calling every day until they answered and they scheduled an appointment for a week out. Then day of the appointment after taking off work they sent a text cancelling the appointment. No call. No explanation. No opportunity to reschedule. Tried calling to reschedule. No answer. Left a vm. No call back. Kept calling until the receptionist answered. I told her I had been calling and calling and leaving VM's and no response. She said ""you're about the 5th person to tell me that today, we have new phone systems and they don't seem to be working"". Then I rescheduled asking to be the first time in the am bc my husband and I have work. What do you know. No call, no show. When I called to reschedule YET AGAIN she said he could come in the afternoon. She said it could be at 5 bc his other jobs were going to take a while. I said great. She said we would receive a text when he was on his way. Our security system showed him at 1:50pm knocking on the door and then leaving. No call, no text, nothing. Tried calling the office and their phone lines said they were closed...at 1:50?!?!! Their hours say they close at 3. Now our sink is leaking, mold is growing, can't wash dishes and can't use the dishwasher 2 months later.
Yes, of course my experience was through my home warranty company First American Home Insurance. It was smooth in the beginning. The company came out to diagnose the problem, which they said was a new water heater needed. I authorized the additional payment needed through my home warranty company (over $400) and then waited about a week with no communication. I left two messages with Hurst since the insurance company said they will contact me. No one returned my phone calls. This morning I called and someone finally answered, placed me on hold and then hung up on me. After many calls back and only getting the answering machine (which I already know no one will call me back), I gave up. I think I may just have to call another competent plumber on my own and pay the entire cost, but then I at least know I will have a working water heater.
Steve E.So before i get into the meat of my review let me state that a home warranty company involved there in of itself is a difficult situation with vendors as there is always difficulty with 3rd party communication and than certain authorization processes the plumbing company has to go through before they can do the work or change the work order. Couple this with ""get this done yesterday"" urgency thats always a factor when dealing with a plumbing issue and the whole situation is just a bit difficult already, in light of the actual service so lets give that a break shall we?
Im in the public service industry as a Realtor so I know, people love ya when things are going perfectly but God forbid someones human and isnt perfect, people love to give a lashing, specially on Yelp. Bad news travels fast and good news gets lost and forgotten specially on yelp.
And for the couple weird reviews on here give me a break, sounds like people hanging Yelp over the companies head trying to get something for nothing to me, yep there are people who do that with Yelp because they know how powerful Yelp is to a business.
Now heres my experience with Hurst plumbing and Todd the installer: 5 days ago I made my claim with HW company. Hurst immediately came out, on time, submitted my claim for a new hot water heater, 2 days later it got approved, they came out within 24 hrs after that, on time, in and out of my house in 90 minutes with new hot water heater installed.
The whole experience with the home warranty company , Todd the installer and Hurst plumbing was 5 star all the way, to bad there isnt a sixth star. Oh and also they have the latest technology that texts and emails you when they are on their way, reminds you of your appointment and asks you how everything went when they are finished. Again, fantastic experience from a to z.
I had Hurst plumbing come out and replace my hose yard water connections, replace pressure regulator and valves. Very nice work, all copper pipes. Worked with me setting pressure for the house, plumber had passion for the work he performed. Very impressed... By the way, final bill was less than estimate. I appreciate honesty.
very prfessional and quickly relaced a water heater covered by my home warranty. Tech showed up on time
Home warranty company assigned these jokers to me. I was told to expect a call within 2 business days. It's been two weeks, I've called them numerous times and they've never answered the phone nor attempted to call me. I can't imagine the shoddy plumbing work they must do.
