I just had a complete HVAC System replacement.
I first called Rumpca and had a consultation with them of our equipment. They did a furnace inspection which cost $250. They gave me what seemed to be a good review and price for the furnace and water heater. My furnace was working fine but was 27 years old. My water heater was 12 years old and had some signs of leaking.
Then on a recommendation I called Hurlburt Heating & Plumbing. They came out the next day, on Friday. Both companies are Lennox dealers. Hurlburt was much more thorough in his questions and answers. Because of this we upgraded the furnace we were looking at to the top model as it had a better value to us. And he also asked about other HVAC equipment we had, and we realized our air conditioner was also 27 years old. So we added a heat pump which will take advantage of our 52 solar panels. Rumpca never asked or looked at this. To compare apples to apples, Hurlburt was $1000 cheaper on just the furnace and water heater. I tried to give Rumpca a chance to give us a quote on a air conditioner but they were a no-show. So we went with Hurlburt for that and the better comparable price and the added value of the heat pump. And mostly because of Ben, the salesman, and his knowledge. You could really tell he loved what he did and had an outstanding product that he was proud of. Also wanted to mention that the furnace we got has a Lifetime warranty on the heat exchangers (2). I didn't know that was even possible on ANY furnace nowadays.
They came out the next week and did the total installation. They were all very professional and worked together like a well-oiled machine. They answered all the questions I had along the way. They were quick and the utility room was left cleaner than when they arrived. They walked me through each new piece of equipment when they were done. Showing me how to use and maintain everything. They reviewed the warranty information, showed us how to properly use the many new features of the thermostat. Which is really a small tablet. I am a geek and love tech, so I was impressed that I have all the same control on my phone to control it. It can also automatically know if we are both away and adjust the temp to our pre-set away mode. Lennox/ Hurlburt is also connected to it and can diagnose most problems remotely. So, If it's the middle of the night on a winter weekend, they can show up the first time with the correct parts. I'm very impressed with that. And the icing on the cake is that they filled out and sent in all the rebates for us. We already got a notification from Excel Energy that they received the rebates from Hurlburt.
Bottom line is that Hurlburt Heating & Plumbing was extremely professional, courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. I feel we got the best product, price, warranty, and service anyone could ask for. I can, and already have, recommended them to friends and neighbors.
I already have Ben scheduled to come back out to discuss a home water filtration system and garage furnace with thermostat.

Jeremy was dispatched to our house to investigate a bathroom leak. He immediately identified source of the leak despite the complex architecture of the house. He carried me along throughout the investigation process and was able to tell me right away what caused the leak, add what I need to do to get this issue resolved. I really like his professionalism. sincerity and honesty. I definitely look forward to inviting him again for any plumbing related projects, and will recommend him as well to anyone needing help in plumbing projects.
