Make sure you get a detailed estimate, invoice and eventual bill from Hunts. It will help with any warranties, rebates and tax filing for credits if you replace certain equipment like water heaters and furnaces. Make sure Hunts line items the product, model, serial number, price of material or product and labor cost. Putting all of this in one large quote without delineating each item leaves you stranded when utilities and the IRS, for rebates and credits, wants you to report it to them. Hunts failed to supply me with information of the water heater I had installed on the initial invoice. After contacting them, they finally added it and sent it to me. After looking at the IRS form needed to receive Energy Credits, it requires a cost breakdown for the product. Hunts is reluctant to send me that information claiming they cannot give any further breakdown and that the invoice has already been exported and closed out. I believe you have 30 days to ask for an itemized bill in Washington State and plan to contact the AG's office for guidance.

DO NOT HIRE THEM OR USE THEIR SERVICES! They are dishonest and they look for opportunity to scam you. Their price is more than 5x of the average price on the market.

I don't know how they have so few negative review on Google but their Yelp reviews tell a different story and you wouldn't hire them after seeing those reviews.

On 12/20/2024, their technician (Marc) arrived at 2:08 PM and I showed him where the issue was. It was in our bedroom and some of the outlets were not working. He mentioned that it was due to one of the outlet not installed properly. He also mentioned that he would give me a quote or estimation on the job before start working on it. However, he did not provide any quote or estimation and went ahead start working on the issue. He rewired 2 outlets on the wall of our bedroom with no complication on accessing the outlets. There was no parts installed or replaced, the original parts were not broken but only the wires were misplaced. After the job was done and we confirmed all the outlets were working. He then proceeded to give me a form to sign which showed the cost of the job $539.99 pre tax and he collected the credit card from me for the payment. He also mentioned this price is for ""fixing only 1 outlet."" He should've presented the estimation to us before proceeding working on the issue because I would turn him down after knowing this insane price for fixing only 1 outlet.

I spoke to one of their manager (Lissy) over the phone shortly after the technician left our place. And she provided me with the timeline of what their technician have done during the job. The timeline from their system showed that the technician presented the $539.99 estimation at 2:39 PM and then accepted the payment at 2:41 PM ""and then proceed to work on the problem. She mentioned that the estimation was presented to me ""BEFORE the job."" However, it was not true. The technician left my house at 2:44 PM which doesn't make sense because he did not work on the job ""after giving me the estimation."" Otherwise, it would take much longer for him to depart after 2:39 PM. The manager eventually provided me partial refund of the cost because there are evidences showing that they did not follow the SOP. Still the remaining of the cost was far higher than the market.

I hired Hunts Services for a look into my furnace. The technician had it fixed and tested it twice. The price was perfectly reasonable for the work. I will hire them again for my next utilities job.

Hunts has saved my bacon a few times now! Leaking old pipes required quick remedy...plus putting in an overall water shut0ff in my garage is so comforting!
New spigots on front and back, new toilet and more! Discounted for the old folks/military was nice too. All the Hunts service folks we've had out have been knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to work with.

I found Hunt's Services when I lost electrical to half my home. Said visit would be $49.00. After Marc arrived, he said it would be $400 to figure out my problem. It took him an hour and said if he spent more time, it would be more. I reminded him it was $400 to find the problem and time wasn't mentioned. He located issue. It was the end of the day, so he would come back the next day. The problem was fixed, but was charged an additional $1900! He had to work, but now know that Hunt's is just another company that overcharges to the max. Will not use again.

It is important to note that the tech assigned to our service call (Marc) did a fantastic job in diagnosing and solving the electrical issue we had. He was courteous and very friendly.

I must add that he was also doing his best to be a positive filter for his company's deceptive and misleading rules and policies.

When we first looked up options on Thumbtack for our electrical repair need, we came across many service providers, most of whom had highly positive reviews. The only reason we chose to work with Hunt's Services was their lower service call fee of $49! As the landlord of a rental property, we felt that such initial price point was reasonable for inspection of an unknown problem.

As soon as the tech arrived at the property we received a call to inform us that the all electrical problems require a quick test of the electrical system at the location and that such a test will cost an additional $300+ to perform!! So much for the low service call cost of $49....The company not once gave us the slightest hint that additional charges would be required before the issue is even identified!

According to our tenant, the tech was able to diagnose and fix the problem within a very short time after his arrival. A few disconnected jammed wires behind one of the wall AC outlets caused a other outlets not to function. The repair literally took minutes to finish and required no parts or special tools, let alone any wiring or new installations, yet we ended up with a bill for over $440!

I even found out in the course of conversation with the tech, that just changing a single AC outlet (generally costing $10 + a few minutes of screwing the cover) would cost over $300 if done through Hunt's Services....WOW!!

Lesson learned and I have no one else to blame but myself, but I'm writing this review for the benefit of other potential costumers who, like me, may get drawn to Hunt's attractive lower initial service fee:

DON'T BE FOOLED!
