Terrible company. I was digging up a sewer in Elmwood Park a couple blocks from Hunter Sewer's Company address. I was approached by 1 of their employees questioning what I was doing and taking pictures of me and my work. 1/2 hour later I get approached by code enforcement. I explained what I was doing and everything was fine, but this employee from Hunter appears out of nowhere again shouting and saying I'm working with no permit. I asked him to leave and he threatened me with violence. "". The code enforcement called Elmwood Park Police on him and he ran. Then I find out Hunter Sewer gave a bogus estimate saying this same homeowner needed to dig up a perfectly good sewer. Bad news company. Liars and Thugs. BEWARE.
10 years ago they called code enforcement on me while digging up a sewer in Elmwood Park, also I had permits too.
I HOPE THIS POST MAKES YOUR WALLET A LITTLE LIGHTER.
Do not call Hunter Sewers if you have a sewer issue. There are too many qualified companies that are local. In September I had a slow draining bathtub. I called Hunter to rod out my toilet line yearly as recommended by Pete in 2019. In 2019 Hunter claimed that I had a broken pipe in my parkway, and I paid them over $2600 to dig up my parkway to repair the pipe. I trusted them, so I did not get a second estimate. So when I called them in September, they told me that they could not get thru toilet paper, that I had a break under my landscaping. They said it needed to be jetted and have a camera dropped for the exact location and that was a total of $645. The estimate for the breakage was $4500. In 2019 when I had that break, I took out a provision on my State Farm Homeowners Policy. State Farm needed me to get 2 or 3 estimates. When I told Gina I needed more estimates, she said no problem and gave me a written estimate from her sister's company A PETE Sewers for $5700. Of course, at this time I stopped trusting her. Hunter Sewers filled out all the requested paper work from State Farm. I called John from Permidt Engineering to see if he could repair the break without damaging my landscaping. To my very shock, I DO NOT HAVE A BREAK OR BLOCKAGE IN MY SEWER LINE. When I told Gina, she did not even apologize for having me file a fraudulent claim on my home owner's policy. I requested to have a refund for the money I was out because of this fraudulent claim and she refused any wrong doing. I am taking this as they knew all along that I did not have a break and this was a scam. I am so sorry that I trusted them from last year. Always, always get a second opinion. Especially when dealing with Gina. She is very good at convincing you that you have serious plumbing issues.
I am a recent widow.I needed some necessary plumbing done immediately. They blew me off two days in a row ,Thursday and Friday! I waited three hours with the dogs in my bedroom and they never bothered to showed up. Then supposedly the owner called me and promised me that the next day someone would be out there first thing in the morning and that I would be first on his list. Well guess what, nobody showed up so I would advise anyone who calls Hunter Sewers BEWARE!
Wow what an awesome family run business. I had a clogged tub and I called numerous places to no avail,on top of that the other places I called had ridiculous prices. But when I called Hunters even tho they were extremely busy they took care of me first thing this morning. People listen to me they are honest hard working local folks that really take pride in there service. They been around for a long time. Again if you have any problems with your plumbing, sewer, clogged drains You must not waste your time calling anyone else call them my God they are Angels God bless them. I highly recommend them period.

Virgil S.Top notch all the way.
Got my backflow control installed last year. Waited entirely too long to post this well earned 5 star review. I would definitely have flooded, badly, if I didn't have the system.
Thanks for saving me a bunch of money in repairs.
Great job!
C B.This company came immediately to fix our basement problems. After having 2 other ""reputable"" companies com and not be able to fix our problems. We no longer get any water!!!! The cost was better than the first two places. They were honest and did the job immediately! This is not something that you want to pay for especially if it doesn't work! Hunters plumbing was the best price & the only one that came through with what they promised. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs help in this situation.
Diane M.We used Hunter Sewer to install a check valve with a pump, also known as a backup sewer flood control system. Hunter Sewer was so easy to work with. They were efficient in their work, kept us inform of the whole process and was always at our house when they said they would be. The project went very smoothly and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing to have flood control installed. Gina in their office was very friendly and she helped make the whole process worry-free, which is exactly what you want when you are dealing with a basement that previously flooded.
Hunter Sewers was recommended to me by my neighbor and we are very happy with their work! Gina is very knowledgeable and answered our questions quickly, and Pete and his crew were very quick and thorough installing our check valve system. We've flooded every year since 2008 whenever there was more than 1 inch of rain. We are loving rainstorms again!
Shanie R.Hunter sewers came out to my home as expected. They're pricing was by the far the best and cheapest I've seen around. Would I highly recommend these guys? ?? Yes without a doubt. tHey are very professional and explains in detail what is happening...he's is as honest as they come. Not only did they show up on time but the job was done the very same day!!!! The best part about is I called at 6 am and by 8am these guys guys were already working on my sewage system. I live by the des Plaines river and I'm definitely keeping Hunter Sewers on speeddial.
Hunter sewers was wonderful. We discovered a rusted, collapsing pipe under my basement floor. They had to replace the pipe across my entire basement, which meant breaking up concrete and digging a trench.
What could have been a horrible situation was made livable by Pete and his crew.
He fixed my pipe enough to give me running water for 12 hours so I could get caught up on laundry before he started.
They used drop cloths and plastic everywhere.
They estimated 4 days and finished in 3.
They were all polite and friendly.
On the last day I arrived home to see my basement put back together better than it was before. They even did some dusting.
I would recommend again and again.
