Recommended Customer Reviews
Due to life circumstances, I ended up relocating shortly after retiring back to West Virginia. As part of the move, I bought a home but it needed some HVAC work done. I paid for it before I arrived and was VERY pleased to find my wonderful new home with a shiny new furnace AND central A/C along with some ductwork, I believe. Very simple controls and keeps the house just right. Excellent workmanship and again, all done before I moved in. I HIGHLY recommend Hughart's Supply and will turn to them first with all my plumbing projects in the future. WELL DONE!
Had them come out for a project and give a quote which was reasonable. However when we requested there documentation of insurance and contractors license they refused to provide and withdrew from doing the work 1 day before being scheduled which delayed the project.
Contrary to the other reviews, I found the guys from Hughart's very helpful, courteous, & professional.
I had a horrible experience with this plumber. They came out and charged me $200 to fix a dripping faucet. I wouldn't mind that much, but $80 of it was from the plumber going to two different stores to try to find the part. I would have thought he could have called before hand to see if they had the part.
To add insult onto injury, the very next day, my hot water heater sprung a leak and damaged my basement floor. I haven't had any plumbing issues for 5 years, and the day after they ""fixed"" my leak, I had my hot water heater break. They said that the two issues were completely unrelated, but I find the odds of that very low. In any case, they were going to charge me $1500 to replace the hot water heater, so I decided to go with another plumber, and I'm hoping I will have much better luck.
I want to write a review of this company on BBB.org, but they are not listed on BBB. I would avoid this company at all costs, they will overcharge you and break things and overcharge you for the next repair.
Gary at Hughart's Supply/Fix-It-Man has no integrity. I grew up in the family plumbing business and usually do my own work, but I was short on time so we made an appointment with them and put my daughter in daycare so they could do the work. After we made several calls, a subcontractor finally arrived hours late to tell me their workday was over and I would have to reschedule. I was agreeable to that as long as they covered the additional daycare expense, but neither the front company nor the subcontractor wanted to be accountable for their screw up.
This is what happens when the company you hire does not actually do any work, but subcontracts it out in exchange for a cut of the charges. The result is higher costs and no quality control.
