Two Bathroom Remodel

At first we were hesitant to go with Hua Construction. We had gotten multiple estimates & decided to go with Hua Construction because they were willing to start almost immediately and after communicating my concerns with Yan, she made me feel comfortable with my decision. It also helped that their proposal cost way less than other estimates and included most materials (tiles, mirror, sink, vanity, etc.). On the proposal there were budgets for each item and we would be responsible for the overage cost when choosing material over budget, but we were able to choose what we wanted. The only purchased items were out of pocket were our 2 toilets, the shower door, & the closet barn door.

The renovation took a total of 3.5 weeks. We stayed a week at our home on the North Shore, but I work in town so commuting was a hassle. But because of the cost, we were able to stay at a Waikiki hotel for 2 weeks while the brunt of the job was being done.

I would also like to mention that we live in a small condo and only had one parking available, Mr. Lin (owner) organized it where one man specialized in certain parts of the project were scheduled to work. If there were any problems, Mr. Lin would stop by and solve the issue (with translator via cell) personally.
It wasn't really an issue for me, but for most people the language barrier may be an issue. English was translated by Yan (Mr. Lin's assistant) who was available if not by phone, by text and ensured all concerns were addressed timely (either by Yan or directly in person by Mr. Lin). Their attitude is very frank and to the point, which is how I am, so I felt they provided exceptional & professional customer service without wasting any one's time.

When our first bathroom was done, we were shocked, extremely impressed, & excited to see what our bedroom bath completion would look like.
When our 2nd bathroom was done they exceeded our expectations. I love my bathrooms and can't stop showing the pics to everyone.

I highly recommend Hua Construction. I will refer family & friends who are looking for a contractor, and will definitely be using them when we decide to renovate our kitchen in our Honolulu Condo or our vacay home on the North Shore.

Extremely professional and went above and beyond. Hua construction is the perfect blend of quality craftsmanship and affordability .
We have used Hua construction do several projects for us. We started with plastering our cider block Staircase we were blown away at how courteous and professional they were. They were timely , efficient , polite , and did wonderful work at half of the price of other companies that we got quotes from. We then had them back to do our kitchen remodel and again they exceeded our expectations. They fixed little things that weren't apart of the original quote at no additional cost and every time an issue with the remodel popped up they were quick to resolve any issue. Our kitchen is beautiful and we love it. We just finished up with a new tile shower in our daughters bathroom and it is another job that has been completed with attention to detail and quality craftsmanship. We will Continue to use Hua construction as we finish remodeling our home.

JOB/PROBLEM: Leaking from underneath tub after showering. Multiple companies told me I would need to cut out the tub to find the plumbling problem which meant an entire shower redo. Only 1 shower in unit so needed it done ASAP.

To be honest, I was a little hesitant to go with Hua construction at first because I had a poor experience with another company that primarily spoke Chinese a couple years ago for a bathroom renovation, but I needed to get it done ASAP and Hua construction was very responsive. Their quote was also more affordable and could start right away. In addition, other estimates included a stipulation that they could end up charging more depending on what plumbing problem they found but Hua construction assured me no matter what plumbling issue it was, they would fix it and the price would stay the same.

I did most of my communication with Lin. She was very responsive, extremely courteous, thorough, helpful, and reassuring. She made the process very easy.

They worked most of the day every day (except Sunday) and the shower was completed in a week. I appreciated that their schedule was also quite predictable. They would start around 8/830 and take lunch around the same time each day. They were clean and respectful of the surrounding walls/floor since only the shower needed to be redone.

One part of the process I really appreciated was when the owner, Hua, met me at Home Depot to pick out tile. At the time I did not realize he was the owner! I'm extremely indecisive and I took a while to decide but he was SO patient. He did not make me feel rushed and he gave me options to choose from his experience.

In the end, the final product was BEAUTIFUL. The attention to detail was really spectacular. The grouting and caulking were very well done and they cleaned after themselves which was something the company I worked with years ago did not do.

Overall, I am very very impressed with Hua Construction. They were speedy, helpful, courteous, kind, respectful (of me and the property), responsive, neat, clean, and professional. I will definitely recommend them to friends and family and call them for my next project.

Very fast response! We had a leaking kitchen sink pipe. It was fixed by Hua construction. Glad we don't have a leaking pipe any more. Thanks again Hua Construction!

Sorry, just a bad experience. Wanted to get me tub converted to a shower. They emailed quickly to ask my address. I responded quickly, then no response. I followed up for a response but never got one. No explanation. Sorry to have bothered this company.
