I feel terrible this did not get posted sooner, but thank you to Jarod for taking such great care of us back in June! We had 1200 gallons of water pumped from our basement due to a pipe burst in a shower that we never use. Our air conditioner was freezing up and not working properly in the home. It was a really hot weekend when this happened so I contacted John Dougan to troubleshoot and he got me in touch with Howe to assist me in not only finding a quick solution but made me a priority in getting a technician out to my home to fix the entire problem. They called to let me know they were on the way and upon arrival the technician wore booties over his shoes when entering our home. He was extremely respectful and listened to our concerns to ensure he could take care of us properly. We are so lucky to have this kind of service in our community and we will be a repeat customer with all of our heating and cooling needs. Thank you Howe!

DO NOT recommend these guys. Guy showed up and was here for couple of hours when it should have only taken an hour - moved really slow and could tell he was trying to drag it out. They also over charge as originally they wanted to charge me for more than double the hours and after arguing with them they reduced it but still wouldn't agree with the correct hours of work. Said they use GPS to record time but if guy is near or sits outside of house for a while before or after job, charges are applied thus overcharging people for non-work time.

I would NOT recommend these guys. Was quoted over the phone itd be $4-500. To change a tube heater from propane to gas. Sent guy out. Didnt do it right. Had to send another guy out. Still have to get re fixed. Then tried to charge me a bill for $1250. Everyone else in town was $350-500 and they included a part that Howe didnt replace the first time. Now my tube needs to be taken down n clean all the soot off it and the shop. I called then and they dropped the bill to $950. Still almost double there quote. UNLESS U PLAN TO PAY TRIPLE TO DOUBLE BEWARE. thats my review. Thanks.

After years of keeping fingers crossed and hoping to be able to ""get through one more summer"", my wife and I finally had to replace our air conditioning and furnace. This was not a small expense for us. After talking to three companies in the Sioux Falls area, we decided to go with Howe, Inc. While they weren't the cheapest they were certainly competitive, offered the quality brands we were considering, and represented the best value for the money. They were professional at every turn: they responded to our request for an estimate promptly and courteously; they gave us several options to fit our budget; their proposal was clear and understandable and contained no 'hidden charges.' Because we had to leave for a vacation, we asked them to come a day earlier than originally scheduled. The installers showed up on time,conducted themselves in a polite and professional manner, worked all day and made sure all the debris was completely removed and the area clean. One of the technicians even stayed on for an hour past 'quitting time' to make sure that the air conditioning unit was operating to specs. They even provided us with the forms and paperwork--completely filled out--for us to qualify for a rebate from Xcel Energy. We would definitely recommend Howe Heating & Plumbing to anyone considering repair or replacement of heating and air conditioning.

On February 22,2016 I called Howe to our home. The guy arrived looked at the issue and said call an appliance guy. I'm being generous when I say he was here five minutes we then received a bill for $55. When I called the office to discuss this they stand behind this bill. I paid it. But I find it offensive to pay this amount. It works out to be $660 per hour.

Truly terrible business experience. I had a problem with my electric heat pump in June when air conditioning was needed. Howe's tested the unit and said the coil needed to be replaced. Parts were covered under warranty and would be in at end of the same week. The following week I had heard nothing so called Howe's. They finally came at the end of that week (10 days after initial evaluation). Howe's then tried to repair the unit for 11 hours without success. Finally decided that entire unit must be replaced (parts still covered by warranty). After another call to office workers came to install new unit 2 weeks later. Workers intalled unit, but needed another part and finished job 2 days later. Unit in house drained condensation water on floor due to improper installation. Called Howe's again and worker came out next day to repair. Job finally done 6 weeks after initiating. I was then charged nearly $3000 for labor. I attempted to dicuss this with the office many times as I felt the charge was unfair given their poor performance. I called the office a dozen times. My calls were only returned twice. No resolution was reached and I was forced to pay the full amount. Both Howe's work and customer service was extremely poor.
