I have a failing sump pump. I contacted Howe Plumbing based on their reviews, here and on their linked website. I sent an e-mail at 1:40AM, but asked them to call me when they began working, as I didn't feel like my situation was an emergency.

They didn't reply to my e-mail, so I called them after 9:00AM. I was routed to voicemail and left a message.

I was called back at 9:28AM. I asked when they could come over.

I was told by Linda that Friday was the earliest (it was Wednesday morning).

I explained that, while I had determined it wasn't an emergency in the middle of the night, that I had experienced flooding twice in the past 14 hours due to a failing sump pump, and that several days wouldn't work.

I was told that there weren't any earlier appointments.

I then asked about their 24/7 claim on their website, specifically, if I had called in the middle of the night, or if I declared I had an emergency now (which I absolutely will have if the failing sump pump quits again; our basement was filling with water very rapidly when it failed earlier).

I was told that what they advertise on their website was not accurate, and that they no longer offer 24/7 response. Linda said they needed to update the website.

So, if you want a plumber who can fit you in days later, Chris may be your plumber.

If you have a problem that requires attention in less than 50+ hours (the quickest they could respond to me) then you probably should move on to the next option in the area.

Note that I write more positive than negative reviews; I'm not just a complainer....

Chris how replaced and old cast-iron drain pipe for me. He also replaced the water inlet valve in my basement. He did a great job and I would recommend him to anyone. His company even negotiated with the city to turn on and off the water at the street. He worked quickly and had the water back on within two hours. I'll definitely be calling him again when I need more work done.
