I reached out to Howard County Plumbing Services for a garbage disposal replacement after seeing a positive review and recommendation of them from a neighbor on Nextdoor. They responded immediately to my online estimate request and offered a very reasonable price, as well as a range of estimated times for the service (estimate cost was per 15 min time block). The tech showed up exactly on time and got to work. It only took 45 min which was the lowest time estimate. Additionally, he noted a pinhole leak in our kitchen faucet which could have eventually caused more water damage. They were not pushy or trying to upsell us which I really appreciated. I would definitely use them again for my plumbing needs and would recommend them to friends and family.

Called today and received a call back within five minutes. Our sump pump was making a noise that sounded like a garbage truck and dump truck put together. I was told someone could be here between 4-5.
Steven arrived a little after 4:00.
He was awesome. He didn't try to sell me something we didn't need. That alone is worth five stars. I know nothing about sump pumps and he could've taken advantage of that, but he didn't.
He pulled a handful of debris out of the well where the pump is located. Dryer sheets, a Lego man, plastic flossers for teeth, a bottle cap. That is what was causing the loud noises.
The cost was extremely fair, and had I not called it would've ended up needing replacing because of the stuff blocking the sump pump. He saved us a lot of money.
I would absolutely use them again.

Really interesting. to see that the other reviewer got an immediate callback. I have been trying to contact Howard County Plumbing for a week. I am having an issue with a 2nd sump pump that was installed by them. Since they refuse to contact me I will try to use this as communication. I had the sump pump diagnosed by another local plumber they indicated that the float switch is bad. The cost of repair is 2/3 the price of a new pump and suggest replacing. My pump was installed 6/18 so I am still within my window of warranty. I would like a call to resolve.

I had my husband remove his negative review he is now questioning if the constant running of this sump pump has caused a spike in his electric bill. I couldn't answer or deny that one.

Hopefully thanks in advance!

Needed to get a main shutoff valve & about 4 feet of copper piping that had an unseen pinhole leak. The valve & pipe was located in my lower level closet & and although the valve was visible, the pipe responsible for the leak was unseen behind the drywall.

Because the pipe was behind the drywall & the wall insulation & closet carpeting absorbed a lot of the leaking water, it was some time before it became apparent. I ripped out the drywall, insulation & closet carpet and was able to temporarily stop the leak with a small piece of rubber & an auto heater hose clamp. Cleaning up the water & starting to dry things out, including adjacent carpet was my main concern before contacting a local plumber.

I found Howard County Plumbing Service on a site that had a number of comments about their service, so I called them later that day about replacing the valve & pipe. Since I had a shutoff valve & enough heavy walled pipe leftover from a previous plumbing job, I supplied most of the material except for a few required elbows. They said they could come out the next day between 1 - 2 PM that they charged by the hour.

The next day, their service man, Brett called to verify he would be there at 1:45 & did arrive when expected. He visually inspected the work area I had prepared & quickly shut off the water at the outside main line & got to work making the repairs. Brett was professional & worked quickly to complete the repair in an hour. The labor & copper elbows he supplied resulted in a $150 billing. Brett was very pleasant & we shared a conversation about our joint interest in vintage / collectable cars as he left.

The only thing I missed was a $20 fee reduction email from Howard County Plumbing that was sent out shortly after I made the appointment but failed to see in my inbox until later that day after Brett left.
