We have about eight leaky faucets - some more serious than others. Made an appointment for Hovey to come out and give us an estimate to repair all of the faucets and also to look at a few other plumbing problems.

We had an appt for them to come out between 1-3 in the afternoon, but they called at 10am and wanted to come then. I said that would be fine....THEN she said it was a fee of $135 to come give us an estimate, but if we hired them, it would be subtracted from the final total of the work. $135 to give an estimate!!!!

Obviously, we cancelled the appointment with Hovey and have a more reputable company coming to give us estimates.

My bathtub faucet had been leaking for over 2 weeks, texted Hovey and they responded quickly and came on my next day off. They have me a timeframe between 9-10, and he was right on time. Since the part was older he needed to go to buy a new one, but he was back quickly and completely done with the job by 10. Super friendly, professional and quick. I'll be recommending them to friends and family.

My house had a leaking faucet last week, so I gave Hovey a call.

When I called a very nice, polite lady answered and asked about my problem. I told her I had a leaking faucet and she said she would have someone come out to the house between the hours of 9AM and 10AM in two days due to them being booked the next day. I thought this was pretty quick and was surprised by how fast they could put me on their schedule.

Two days passed and a plumber by the name of Jay arrives. He arrived about 30 minutes past 10AM, but blamed his tardiness on the traffic. I figured that was fair since he was coming out from Riverside to my house in Eastvale on a Friday. He inspected my faucet in my master bedroom bathroom and told me that a center fitting that fed hot and cold water through the center spout was worn out. However, since each fitting is unique to every faucet the entire faucet needed to be replaced. I guess that's how these manufacturers make money... I said that sucked, but I understood what needed to be done. Jay gave me two options. Option one was to have Hovey purchase ($225) a faucet for me and install ($165) it for me or option two would be for me to purchase my own faucet and have him come back and install ($165) the faucet for me. I went with the latter option.

As Jay was leaving I asked him if I owed him anything for coming out that day, even though he didn't do anything yet. He said he would have to charge me a service call fee ($135) for coming out. A $135 service call fee for doing nothing!? I was pretty blown away. However, he told me that if I were to call him back to install ($165) the faucet that I would only have to pay the difference. On top of that, he told me that if I were to install a second faucet in the master bedroom bathroom to match the faucet he was replacing that he would install the second faucet free of charge. After he said all that I was fine with the service fee. In my eyes I saw it as a large deposit for the faucet installation. Gotta give the customer incentive to call them back right?

***THIS IS WHERE THE STORY GOES DOWNHILL***

A few days past and I have two matching faucets for Jay to install. Again, Jay came out between the hours of 9AM and 10AM and arrived early this time. I showed him the new faucets and he started working on the install. As he was working I asked him for confirmation of how much the install would cost me. I was thinking it was going to be $30, difference between the faucet install ($165) and the service call fee ($135) that I was previously charged. Jay then told me the total would be $165! Wait, I thought that the service fee would be deducted from the faucet installation fee... He then told me that the service call fee was deducted... from the sum of the service call fee AND the faucet installation fee! WHAT!? Jay totally flipped the script on me! Essentially, I paid $135 for Jay to do nothing the first time he came to my home and now he was gonna charge me the full faucet installation price and install the second faucet for ""free"".... I seriously couldn't believe it! I was able to get him to knock the price of the faucet installation to $135, but that still was not what was agreed upon. Shame on me for not getting a quote in writing the first time he came out. Lesson learned...

I called Hovey to service my mom's septic issues and he did an amazing job at a great price. He treated my senior mom well and he went above and beyond for her. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a plumber.

Great family-owned company. Great service at a fair price. Fixed my plugged kitchen drain line and replaced all kitchen plastic piping (at my request) for a very reasonable price. No attempt to sell me unneeded services.

I called at 4:30pm on Tuesday, November 13th to ask for help as our main water line to our house had ruptured and we needed help. I was told someone by the name of Eric would call me back. At 5pm, I hadn't heard anything, so I called back. The woman I spoke with said she would mark that it was my second call and mark it as urgent and have someone call me ASAP. Thank goodness be my husband is proactive and had already started digging where the leak was. At 6:30pm Amy called me to tell me she was sorry, but they couldn't send anyone. Good thing having water isn't an emergency!!!
I am very angry and disappointed that it took 2 hours for anyone to contact me and tell me they couldn't help. A water main rupture is not something to take lightly!! We had no water to our house!!! My husband was my hero and managed to fix it thank goodness!!!
I will NEVER call this company again, nor will I recommend them!!!

Brent did an amazing job. 1 hour to unclog a master shower drain that I worked on for 3 days with household snakes and plungers. Pulled up handfulls of stuff that I dare not remember. Was nice and professional. Earned my business.

This review is for service I received this week in 2018 as well as back in 2013 from Eric and his crew. This company is amazing!! They are prompt, professional, fair-priced, good people!!
This week our water heater stopped working. I called Eric and over the phone he diagnosed the problem and quoted me what it was going to cost to repair. I called on a busy Monday midday and he came to our house at 7pm that night to do the job so that we could have hot water again to take showers, etc instead of waiting one more day. He was willing to come by late after he finished up for somebody else because he remembered us from our previous really bad luck plumbing problems....
Back in November 2013, our house built in 2005 had a water leak due to a rat chewing into a plastic water line. Eric found out what the source was and warned us it was likely to happen again. We had 6 different water leaks in a 6 week timeframe until we could finally kill the rat and seal off the attic space! Eric came out right away every time we had a new leak. He even helped us on Dec 23rd so that we could turn the water main back on in time to host a Christmas party.
This guy Eric is a genuine professional who explains everything, charges a fair price, respects customer loyalty, and does a great job!! We highly recommend Hovey Rooter!

We recently bought a 1989 house and the drains in the back overflowed when I washed down the back patio. I wanted to make sure the draIns would work correctly and ensure our backyard wouldn't flood during the rainy season. Eric came out on time and was very professional. He and his partner uickly assessed the drains and then set to work in removing the clogs. They used a hydro-jet device to clear as much of the built up debris from the drains as possible. After about an hour and a half, the drains (which were probably never cleaned out before and could've been up to 28 years old) were thoroughly flushed and working perfectly! To top this, Eric's price was very reasonable and far better than the competition (and I priced around quite a bit). Thanks Eric!!!
