We asked for a water heater to be replaced. Mohammed came and didn't install it correctly. He then came by and we had water leakage throughout the walls the next day. We then called to show him. He first said he'd come the day of and 10 minutes later he claims he suddenly has ""no record"" of us. When I called him he then hung up the phone and denied all responsibility. We paid over $1500. He has since been sending all calls to voicemail.

Extremely rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend this company to anyone. He is out to scam you and steal all your money. I have emails, texts, etc and he has now chosen to ignore everything denying any accountability. Stay away from him.

We will be taking legal action.

Update on 3/16/21: I got a report from two other plumbers (one AHS sent for a second opinion and one I hired to check) that the water heater is faulty and a code violation with modifications.

The plumber I called not AHS sent found the exact issue with the Anode rod.

Called House Call Plumber to get the money back, still, Mohammed says no issue with the water heater and I have an issue with him so calling to report. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY. He is thinking this is a smart way to put blame on me.

Mohammed does not know what is cause and claims installed more than thousands of water heaters and never had this issue. He can come and fix the issue but without knowing what is the issue how he is going to fix it. SO

In the end came to know, no money I am going to get from Mohammed and going to get another plumber to fix the issue.

Right now, the water heater is turned off and no hot water at home.

American Home Shield sent House Call Plumber to replace the water heater. The water heater was installed by a House Call technician (Mohammed) on Feb 18th, 2021. Just installed, did not check if water heater working. By the way, he went out to get the parts twice during the installation. The second time when he went did not come for 4 hours. Came around 6 pm to continue on installation in the dark with a small torchlight. An appointment should be for two hrs but it took the whole day to complete.

After a few hours and days --- all faucets made a loud noise with air (sound louder than firecrackers), milky water. He came three times to check the faucets inside the house, saw the issue but did not check the water heater. He does not know what is the issue or cause.

He was more interested in how my house is arranged and looks good than fixing the issue.

The fourth time, he flushed the water out from the water heater and switched off. Opened all faucets in the house one at a time. There was no air or noise or milky water. The pipes are ok. He turned on the water heater and left without checking the water again in the house. After two days all issues are back - March 3rd, 2021 recalled the issue again on American Home Shield.

WISH ME GOOD LUCK! The issue is not resolved yet.

Looks like he learned how to install a water heater but does not know how to fix it if there is an issue.

Just installing a water heater is not important, technician have to make sure it works, and cover the water heater with proper insulation is important. I have never seen using foil to cover.

See the picture...left side - old installation, Right side - New installation. He even made bigger holes and burnt did not fix them.

Took $795 for the modification fee.

Somehow or somewhere in the water heater air is entering. I am not a plumber but can understand that...Common sense.

Negative rating if I could. Ran the water for 5 min but didn't find a link in the pipe. I was in the shower at the time. The leak was a faucet origin, not the pipe. He would not come back to fix the problem. Another American Home shield handyman, not a real plumber.

DO NOT USE! SHODDY WORK, AND WONT RETURN CALLS OR COME BACK TO RE MEDITATE! Now I just need to figure out how to post a picture of this hacks work. Was supposed to install the vent pipe from the top of the heater to the existing pipe. He literally taped 6 elbows together to span about a two foot gap. It looks like the hot water hose was interfering with the run so he used a piece of duct tape as a strap and taped it back to the earthquake strap. Even after that brilliant piece of engineering the connection to the top of the water heater is still not even. One side does not even tough the top of the heater. BEWARE!

It is challenging to find good water heater replacement service. All other shops set up traps to get more money from you (Upstairs? $100 more. This is not up to the code, $150. That is required, $200). Until I found House Call Plumber on Craigslist. After sending pictures of my old water heater, I was quoted a straightforward and reasonable price over texting.
The installer showed up in hour and the job was done within 1.5 hours.

Just for comparison, I contacted 4 water heater companies. One quoted 2X price on installation to ""start with"", one did not show up to, and the third one quoted me a high price and tried to call me back 6 hours later to offer me a lower price.
