As a community-focused organization, Horry Electric commits to providing resources and electricity solutions on a fair foundation. Horry Electric Cooperative, Inc. was founded on April 24, 1940, with 627 charter members. Our network was energized on January 7, 1941. As a member-owned entity, Horry Electric focuses on offering services and electricity solutions on a just foundation. A nine-member board of trustees, elected from and by their respective members at the annual meeting of the cooperative, manages the functions of the Cooperative. The board appoints the CEO who, in turn, takes charge of selecting the team that operates and supports the network.

Worst electric company I've dealt with I don't advise moving to Conway South Carolina you have to deal with them and they are ridiculous to deal with i've been a customer for eight years and for some reason my bank sent back a payment so they charged me extra $35 I'm on a prepaid plan so I went in to pay my bill it was more than what the phone said when I looked it up on my account as I was $20 short they didn't want to give me till the end of the day to have the time to go to my bank and find out why they sent it back and bring them back a letter so luckily somebody gave me $20 in the parking lot to get my bill paid but the ridiculous part is they said we can't do it for you because we have to do it for everybody else why can't you do it for everybody you can't wait a day for your money we wait for our paychecks it's ridiculous it's a monopoly and it's not allowed in America and everybody's ignorant for allowing it to happen

Showed them a completed fax authorizing them to leave the power on in the house I bought after previous owner left. They had cut it off and charged me a reconnect fee to pay for their mistake. Didn't matter to them. Conway is filled with mouth breathing morons like this.
