Terrible company that has a poor understanding of the systems they sell/install in people's homes. I purchased a new heating pump/HVAC system for my home on 4/28. After promising they are HVAC experts and have the best teams in the business, Horizon proceeded to do an absolutely terrible job installing the system THEY sold to ME. You would think a company like Horizon would have a great understanding of the systems they sell home owners.

On the day of install, their team arrived at 7:30 AM and worked to install my system, ""completing"" the job around 5 PM. The employee showed me how to turn on the system and left. The system immediately started blowing hot air. I tried to turn the entire unit off, but it continued pumping hot air getting my house to 80 degrees (almost 10 degrees hotter than it was outside). I called the salesperson that sold me the system, and he told me someone would come back to check on this issue (that I was having on the brand new system they installed). One of the original installers arrived back around 6:30 PM and was clearly panicked and did not know what was going on, he had to call multiple other employees and was running into and out of my house for over an hour. He claimed to have fixed it and left saying someone would need to come back in the morning to replace a broken part (on my NEW system). No sooner does he leave does the hot air continue to blow. He told me I could turn off the system at the breaker and it would turn off, I did this but that didn't work. I had a heat pump constantly blowing hot air in to my home and couldn't get it to stop. My house got to 88 degrees before I figured out how to manually shut off the emergency heat that had been triggered by the faulty equipment Horizon installed. During that entire time, I could not get anyone from Horizon on the phone to help me other than a dispatcher that could only tell me a tech would get to my house at some point that night to check on my new system a third time (the tech eventually arrived at my house at 10:30 PM, over 15 hours after the job began at 7:30 AM. He was able to temporarily fix the issue but someone had to come back the next morning to finish installing a system Horizon is supposed to be experts on).

These people installed a faulty piece of equipment that was malfunctioning in my home and left TWICE. If I hadn't called them multiple times that evening, they would have left my home in that condition overnight potentially causing a real disaster in my home. This was dangerous, period. I had to call again in the morning to make sure someone was coming to help as I didn't receive any follow up after the last tech left my house at 11 PM that night. I then had to request a manager call me to review what in the world went wrong and why Horizon did an absolutely terrible job on this install. After the 4th tech left the day after my install, Horizon was content to leave the matter closed instead of calling and offering a simple apology for the disaster of a job.

Overall, it was an embarrassing experience for them and a potentially dangerous one for me. I don't even know what would happen to my home or the system if it had been left to continuously pump emergency heat into my home? What if I had left for the night and my pets were left in that home because I didn't realize there was an issue? Deal with these people at your own risk, they don't know what they are doing and are fine leaving your home in a potentially hazardous condition.

They replaced my furnace and AC unit last year with no problems and I was happy with the service. I have since been trying to get some reimbursement from my home warranty company (I insisted the seller of this house provide me with a warranty precisely because both units were 30+ years old). The warranty company requires me to get a statement from the contractor that the units were replaced because of their age, and I have been trying for more than 2 months to get the information from Horizon with no luck. The woman who sold me the job is ghosting me completely now, I'm starting to wonder if she even works there anymore. As a result, the claim is held up at the warranty company and I feel like Horizon has screwed me completely. They're only interested in the sale, after-sale service is apparently not A Thing for these folks.

We are trying to sell my parent's house. My father passed away in July. As part of the house negotiations, I called Horizon to ask for the records (since the technicians never filled out any of the cards on the actual units).
You'd have thought I was asking them to rebuild the Brooklyn Bridge. In this day and age of emails and reports being able to processed quickly, they told me it would be 7-10 days!!! What is the value in over-paying Horizon all of these years to be able to show that you've taken care of you HVAC with service records, when they can't even send an email with a summary! Then, try to talk to some one in management is IMPOSSIBLE - FOR THAT -they tell me to go to their website and I can request the report!!! What the friggin kind of service is that - Buyer Be Ware! These guys only want to take your $$ not help you when you need something - like documentation or a report.

do not use this over priced awful company! i had a heat issue & their guy came out & told me the corbon monoxide was at beyond dangerous levels. i have worked in the industry & i asked the repair guy to show me where he got his reading from. he put a carbon monoxide meter in the exhaust system & said these are dangerous levels. i said are you sure. he said absolutely. i said take your meter out of the exhaust system & he was shocked that i knew wtf he was doing. any exhaust gives off carbon monoxide. i said gtfo out of my house.
never ever again! worst place ever!!

Jason inspected our furnace. Told me it was literally falling apart. $8000 to $10,000 for a new one. Got Horizon's sales department on the phone and expected me to set an appt. right away. I set it for almost 2 weeks later. Thank goodness I put it off! I had a neighbor recommended HVAC contractor come out. After spending 2 hours checking the furnace, he determined that our furnace was perfectly fine!

The Horizon rep also broke our thermostat. After telling me he was using all of the coupons and discounts he could, he installed a CHEAP basic thermostat (that you can buy for $28 at Home Depot) and charged me $300! He put a ROUND thermostat in place of the RECTANGULAR one. Now, I have to wait (and waste more time) for Horizon to come and assess the damage to the wall.

I am thoroughly disgusted with Horizon Services! If you think of using them (which I won't), make sure you get other estimates!!

If you live in the Philadelphia area DO NOT USE HORIZON SERVICES! Major ripoff! Came in and told us we needed an entire new furnace. Got a second opinion from real professionals. We don't need a furnace. Wait there's more. Then the idiot service tech broke our thermostat and charged us $300 to fix what they broke. Oh by the way the cost of the thermostat was $28 at Home Depot. These guys are the kings of deception. DO NOT FALL for their baloney. Now they want to send some out to look at it and of course you'll never get an opportunity to talk to David Geiger the president.

I will say I've been or was a fan whenever I needed plumbing work and would call Horizon.
Recently I had them come for a problem that needed an HVAC person. The guy pretty much told me the repair I needed was a band aid with no guarantees because my entire boiler system needed to be replaced ASAP. He proceeded to give me an approximate $3,000 quote for the band aid and that one of their sales people would have to come out to give me a quote for replacement. The ball park range he gave me was 12,000-14,000. I felt pressured to make a sales appointment right away. Thankfully I did get a second opinion and canceled the appointment with the Sales rep. Their band aid quote of $3000 was done by the second opinion for $150!!!!! My heating system is old however the second Company stated I should get it done by next winter so I had a time frame to save some funds. That heating system quote was $1500-6000 depending on what I wanted.
Now the company won't stop calling me to set another sales appointment. I'm not answering your last 5 phone calls for a reason.
You lost all business with me!!!

I know your response will be some generic response you seem to do with negative reviews.

It will be something to the effect that ""you can't seem to find a file "" insinuating that I am not making a real review or that I even had contact with your company.
If I had seen these prior negative reviews and your generic responses to them before using your company the first time I would never have even used you for the jobs I did!!!

I needed a replacement gas stove installed. Not a new stove, just swap out the old stove for a new. I live in a community where a county inspector needs to check the work before I get a certificate of inspection. This certificate is needed before I sell my condo. Horizon Services gave me a quote for install that did not include the price of the permit ($155). This is a big change in price, and their bid was not competitive with the added charge, but I didn't know they hadn't added this charge until the tech had completed the work. My mistake, I should have verified. The tech did not install a tip bracket, and he should have, and without this bracket, the install failed inspection. The tech has been out a total of 3 times. I still do not have the inspection notice. It has been 3 months now and I can not sell my condo until I get the notice. This is HORRIBLE service. I wish I had chosen someone else.

I just wanted to replace my heat pump and would not give an estimate without trying to up sell everything they could think of. Ended up asking them to leave ! Telling me that the service panel had to be replaced. That's when I told them to leave the house. Call a different contractor and nothing wrong with the service panel. My recommendations are to stay away from horizon services one big con job trying to sell things not needed! You will end up paying double if you hire horizon services!!!

3/1/21 we contacted Horizon services in the past and the work performed was fine. This most recent interaction was horrendous! We were in need of a sewer lateral inspection because we are selling our house. We explained in depth on the phone what was needed. Truthfully it's really just another BS township money grab like everything else. I digress. We were delighted to book the appointment for the following morning.

Later that same afternoon we were contacted and we were questioned if it was a sewer blockage or proactive inspection. (We had already explained precisely what it was) - we re-explained it was a sewer lateral inspection. Then they told us they won't do it because it's proactive. Translation= no money to be made. They cancelled our appointment hours later after booking it sending us scrambling. THANKS HORIZON!

To us, this company is unethical and unreliable!! If you need this kind of inspection you can forget this company! They play games. Selling a home is stressful enough without these shenanigans!
