I would like to give them negative 5 stars for lying to us, I'll explain why so you can decide for yourself if you would like to take a chance of getting ripped off.
Our central air at our house (less than 4 years old) stopped blowing cold air last night. We called around 11pm last night and was given a window of 10am to 2 pm today. Tech shows up 1:55 in the afternoon. Inside my house the temperature had reached 90 degrees. He goes outside to check unit. Approximately 10 later the tech comes in and says; ""I have some bad news, the condenser is shot and we would need a new unit."" I asked the obvious question knowing I am confident I'm not going to like the answer. Here it comes, $5,000 and 6 hours we can have it back up and running. Told him we would have to get back with him. Called Harris plumbing and air and they came out within 2 hrs and had it fixed within 10 minutes / $500 for a new starter. We also got a years service contract for our air and heating system in that quoted price. Since I have no need for horizon it is a great deal. Don't be up sold by this cheating or unqualified company.

don't believe the Google reviews.
my problem is I trusted the guy (Dennis).
he's not honest.
our ac wasn't cooling.
he said we needed the refrigerant topped up.
He charged me $1100 for 4lb of r22 refrigerant because 'it's very expensive'.
I agree people should be paid well for coming out but a markup of over $500 for 10 minutes of work is ridiculous.
I googled the cost of r22 after the left.
I've learned an expensive lesson.

7/9/23 Again, another poor review for Horizon. And, yes, their Customer Service is worse than the services they provide. Friday am they left a message on my phone, I coukd not call back till after work. I asked for the person who left the message. They said she was away from her desk and put me on hold - for 13 minutes. I hung up an called back again as I did the day before. This time I got a guy who said he thought she was busy on the line. I asked to speak with a Manager - again put on hold, again no one available, and again I was told she would call as soon as she is done. Well here it is, 24 hours later, and no call. What is it with these people???? Horizon strikes again with their lies about superior service.

I called Horizon to come and relight the pilot on my hot water heating - it had gone out after some flooding in my basement. They arrived 4 hrs late to start but I could live with that. The young man was pleasant but obviously did not know how to light a pilot on a water heater. He came back to me and told me the water heater would have to be replaced, that it could not be re-lit because the insulation was wet. They wanted $3000 to replace a water heater you can buy at Lowes for $569.00. The next day a friend of mine with some knowledge came by and checked it. He tried and it lit immediately and I had hot water within 20 minutes. I have heard stories of Horizon over charging and saying things needed to be replaced. On top of everything else they charged me $128 on Sunday just to tell me it needed to be replaced when it did not. What a rip off!!!

Horrible absolutely horrible -customer service needs fine tuning and in addition to that you are not properly educated they have to call you prior to the appointment an hour before to confirm!!!!! I didn't have my phone and they canceled the appointment not to mention cncled it 2 weeks ago bc I guess they didn't want to come in the rain - STAY AWAY

Horizon took over First Class I guess, and not for the better. They are way over-priced and don't seem to have qualified, seasoned technicians. They come up with one or more costly problems every time you have them do a simple seasonal tuneup (even on a new system). Give me a break. I'm stopping at 2 strikes. No more seasonal checkups by them at this house. (And stop adding a fuel charge to your 'advertised' tuneup 'specials'. Gas is no longer $4.99 a gallon!)

STAY AWAY !! Somebody named Joey Peters was sent out to my house to give me an estimate to replace a furnace. It was almost 2X what other established companies wanted. He sat at my kitchen table for so long trying to give us the hard sell that I came close to throwing him out of my house.
FYI... I called SABRS but the person who answered the phone said I had reached Horizon Services. I then got a text from First Class Heating and Air Conditioning. Those two companies were apparently purchased by Horizon.

Worse company I've ever worked with. Not only did they overcharge me for a new HVAC system, but their service is unreliable. Have tried getting my system serviced for the season and on the day of the service they cancel. This is reoccurring. They have scheduled for a month later. Do you homework and check pricing and services with other companies. Fooled me once, never again. Terrible company.

I'd give zero stars if possible. The worst experience I've ever had with a company. Lied about our heater being ""broken"". A friend who works in the industry came to our aid after horizon made us sign a waiver saying if we ran our system and got carbon monoxide poisoning it wasn't our fault. The problem they ""diagnosed which allegedly rendered our heater useless"" was non existent and we went 2 months last winter without running our heat before we turned it back in and haven't had any issues since. They said we would need a new unit at the cost of close to $10k. The most ironic thing is that they told the same story to our senior neighbors and they bought into it.... Shame shame shame
