We have had the WORST experience with this company from incompetent technicians to ""managers"" who won't return our call. Our terrible experience started in June 2016 when they charged us $500! to fix a leak in our system. They came out this past week and charged us another $400 to discover that they never fixed the problem in the first place. They now want to charge us an additional $3000 to fix the problem that they never fixed the first 2 times - and charged us close to $1,000 to fix. The technician, Antonio, was terrible and convinced us to do a ""major leak search"" for $361 at 10:30 at night after arriving 5 minutes before the arrival window ended. He did not even know that the Lennox system he was recommending we correct has a RECALL and needs to be replaced! When I called customer service, they said the manager, Evan, would call me back and he never even gave me the courtesy of a return call.

Sales process for new a/c system is insulting -price for unit is ""only good if you sign tonight "" otherwise the price will be $1000 more if you wait. Showed me some photocopies of other competitor estimates while making disparaging remarks about other brands. Indicated that other competitors will also use these tactics to get you to sign immediately. These sales techniques would give used car salesmen a bad name.

This company markets itself as honest, transparent and differentiated from its competitors.This may be true opon the service side but the sales side is the same old sales techniques that most educated consumers will be repulsed by.

(For those reading Nicole's response from Horizon, please note the following:)
1. I appreciate the response and will get back to her directly. However, know that this is a fairly canned response that I have seen Horizon use on other negative reviews.(to blunt the impact of the review)
2. The sales approach that The Horizon salesman used with me last night was undoubtedly a result of sales training he received. There was a well rehearsed sequence, script and sales materials used including the price that's ""only good for tonight "". I welcome the opportunity for Horizon to state in their response to me (and for all to see) that they do not train their sales team to offer special discounted pricing only if you sign during the sales visit vs one price regardless of when you agree to the terms (e.g. In the next week or some reasonable period)

Skeptical at best. A/C tune-up $59. Hardly worth Horizons time to send a tech. so expect an up-sell. 14 years old heat pump, never any issues. Checked the condensate pump, phlegm temps (were ok) then to the outdoor compressor. Determined the capacitor was bad, contacts corroded and the motor likely on its last leg. Mind you the capacitor had no problem starting the motor, nor had the reset on the motor ever tripped due to any overload.

Offered a ""partner plan"" (with monthly membership fee) for a 15% discount. Repairs well over $1,000 or unit replacement est. $10,000 - $15,000. Strongly suggest, find another company. The Horizon business model is really a marketing / sales, heavily advertise pitch. Contacts did not look corroded or burned, the motors ran in spite of the ""faulty capacitor"", motor was diagnosed as an impending failure. Yes the heat pump is reaching its useful life span, first thing that was mentioned. Then the sales pitch.. When the price is so inexpensive it can't even cover the techs time, the real purpose is steer the consumer to purchase their service and system. Find a local guy with a reputation earned by servicing your friends and neighbors.

Be very careful when dealing with these people, they can empty your wallet fast. They advertise heavily which is expensive and you end up paying for it. Part of their advertising is a low cost Heater / A/C tuneup. Once you let them in the door they seem to find a problem with an expensive fix. Their techs work on commission so they're not making money unless they find a problem. Horizon is well known in the HVAC industry for their ripoff prices. Better to deal with a local dealer who wants to earn your business with honest pricing. Buyer beware.

Here's another example of their ripoff pricing. I needed a new kitchen faucet installed and asked for the labor charge. They wanted a whopping $350 dollars!!! I found a local handyman who did it for $75 bucks. What thieves!!

While technicians might be ok, the call center lies cheats and steals to get into your house. They don't tell you the prices before hand. I got a quote of $380 for a a/c leak check + service charge and frown if needed. When I paid $225 a few weeks by by Andy there service provider. Then the guy quotes me $2300 for a job the other provider charged me $725 for.p the same job. They lie. Stick with more reputable local repair companies stay far away from Horizon or pay the price. Argh they wasted my time and day.

I called Horizon this past Saturday night at 9:30 for emergency service for my stopped up toilets...I was told no one was available until the next day between 11 am and 2 pm....don't call for emergency service....not available...

Total rip-off. The service man told me I needed $1800 in repairs for my central AC. When he left the heat would not go on. I had a local company with a good reputation look at it. They got the AC in good working condition for $238. Also he showed me where a wire to the heater had been deliberately cut! Stay away.

We are repeat customers of horizon. We called Thursday about a water problem in the bathroom. They said they were backed up and could not make it out until Saturday between two and six. Then the next day water was coming through the ceiling into the basement we called them back they said they didn't have anyone that could come out until Saturday between two and six my husband asked if he needed to get someone else they said no they could get him there and so we told them to come Sat. We turned off all the water to prevent any more damage but it continued leaking. We waited until 6 PM Saturday and still no one arrived. I called them and they told me we had canceled the appointment Friday. And that we had told him we were going to get someone else to come in. We did not cancel the appointment we told them to look at their records and listen to the conversation. They were very belligerent and treated us like we were liars. We asked to speak to The customer relations manager but they said he was not available on the weekends. Right on their service agreement it states that if you're not happy you can talk to the customer relations manager. We will not use them again.
