I looked on Yelp for recommendations. I had called another highly rated service first who made me wait for over a month. I finally gave up and called Horizon and I had a complicated job but Darren was up to it. He is amazingly good at heating and air conditioning and knew exactly where to get parts for my older system. He was able to replace my old heater with a newer model and patched things up expertly. I would highly recommend him and this company.

My heater was not working properly. I got in touch with Darren at Horizon. He came out and installed a new unit after a no fee diagnosis. He explained the problem, why it happened and showed me the damage that had built up over the years. He stayed true to his estimate of cost and I am very satisfied.

Do you like being scammed? Do you like spending thousands of dollars for no reason? Well hire this company. They took a call at my friend's house for a no cool call and informed him that:

A. Had a refrigerant leak
B. Needed a new system due to age
C. Said they could charge the system but didn't know how long it would last
D. Compressor wouldn't run due to low pressure safety

Well let me tell you...these were all lies to steal money from my friend. Don't screw over someone that has friends in the industry. His system had a full charge and did not have a leak, he needed a $10 compressor run capacitor...that's it! So do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This company is an abomination to the trade.

I went through 3 other Heating and Air Conditioning companies - all with great reviews on Yelp before I found Horizon. One company kept me on the hook for a month and then said they couldn't fix my problem, another stood me up and then booked me a new appt for a month later, another said he doesn't work on my type of heater. Then I was lucky enough to find Horizon. Darren is the ultimate professional. He knew exactly what to do and where to order the parts. He took out the old heater and air conditioner fairly quickly (part of my heater is in the ceiling). Even though the furnaces made now are much larger and my space was limited he worked it out perfectly and patched it up expertly. I would highly recommend Horizon as the BEST!

Darren did a great job on our duct work and running a gas line for us to our fireplace. He and his assistant worked really hard in the small difficult space under the house. It did take a little longer than they had thought because of the limited space they had to work with, but it was done so much better than what was originally there that we cannot believe the difference in the warmth of our entire house. Before we could not get the whole house warm on the very cold days.. Not any more!!! Thank you Darren so much for sticking with us even when it looked like this job might of been impossible and doing such a great job! WE will definitely be calling on Horizon Plumbing and Heating when our old furnace needs replacing. We highly recommend Horizon if you are looking for someone who really cares about doing the job right and at an affordable price. Thank you Darren and crew!

I'd give Darren more than 5 stars if I could. My wife and I purchased a true fixer upper. Darren has been outstanding in replacing plumbing, installing a new furnace, replacing vents and duct work, and a installing a new hot water heater. He also made time in his schedule to repair issues at our old house during the closing process. He is collaborative in discussing options and he has met all agreed upon costs and timelines.

We were recently in the market for a new home furnace as our original was more than 40 years old and on its last legs. After receiving estimates from a couple of companies in our area (the North Bay), we met Darren Wheeler of Horizon Plumbing, who impressed us more than the others with his knowledge and his ability to communicate that knowledge to a layman. We selected Horizon to install a new furnace and to design and install the associated duct work. Darren and his assistant installed our new heating system in just a few days and I am happy to report that it works beautifully! For years we thought there was something wrong with our house because it was always cold during the Winter even with the heat on. Now we know better. I can't recommend Horizon highly enough!

Darren was referred to us by some friends. We really like to support local businesses. I called Darren and we scheduled a time for him to come and look at my AC unit. It was done. He installed a new AC unit and we also got Nest. He did an amazing job for us. He explained everything that he was doing and resolved all of our issues.

We had construction going on in our house, so he even offered to come by and change out the filters for me. He went above and beyond the scope of service, which I really appreciate.

Darren is extremely thorough and knowledgeable and CARES about his customers.

I highly recommend Darren if you need help with your AC or Heating. He is tremendous at what he does!

I met Darren through a referral from a friend.

I contacted him to give me a second opinion and estimate on a time-sensitive plumbing job.

His estimate was far more attractive, which was great to hear. But you know you have to be a little cautious when you receive a considerably lower quote.

Thankfully this was not one of those disappointing cases of 'you get what you pay for'.

Darren completed the job according to his quote and time frame.

So the service, communication, and pricing was great.

But here's the primary reason I would recommend and refer Darren to others. The previous plumber told us we had to dig up the pipe in front of the house so they can access the sewer line.

Darren did not rely on what the previous guy had told me. He wanted to check it himself.

Well, it turned out the sewer line did NOT run out to the front of the house...it actually went out the side of the property.

Needless to say, we would have wasted a couple hours of labor cost to dig up a big unnecessary hole in the front yard.

Thanks to Darren we saved both time and money.

P.S. He even contacted the City of Santa Rosa to come out and work on the sewer line at the street, which was actually part of the original problems for the sewer backing up.
