Kearston C.We had a great experience with our plumber who was knowledgeable, professional and wore proper PPE to protect himself and our family. We were able to have a quick turn around time with a response form the company along with a fast dispatch time for service which was very helpful. We would recommend this company for plumbing needs in Indy.
Called to set up an appointment. Dispatcher was not able to give me any price quotes. Tech showed up and it was clear this company uses flat rate pricing which is a rip off. Don't be fooled by this tactic. He negotiated a price with me and did sort of fix our shower valve. He then checked my tankless water heater and said it was leaking and needed a new heat exchanger. He said he was an authorized agent of the mfg. I asked him to take photos so I could submit it to warranty. He sent 3. When I called the factory, they said they need way more and the company should have known that. When I called back the tech said he would only come back for $250.00. I called back to speak with Justin and he came out to take the correct photos which was great. I then was able to get the part under warranty. The factory said this was a 2-3 hour job. When I called back to Juston, he quoted me $1200. I was shocked. He then lowered to $900 ($300 per hour) to which I declined. Never heard back. Needless to say, be very careful with this company.
Tom S.We were looking for an estimate for installing a tankless hot water heater. Setting the appointment was smooth. Jeremy was on time and contacted us prior to his arrival. Jeremy was honest with us about pricing and offered suggestions. The reason for one star was that they wanted to charge $89.00 for an estimate. They mentioned that the $89.00 charge would be applied to any work we had done. We did not, however, use their services. They waived the fee after we raised our concerns. If my elderly mother had called for an estimate, she would have paid this ridiculous fee. Shame on Hope plumbing for even trying to make this charge. This is a guarantee that I will not use them in the future and will send out warnings to those wishing to use their services.
Lauren P.They have been awesome to work with! They specialize in older homes and we bought a fixer upper last spring. Had a huge plumbing issue and they were great to work with us and our crazy busy schedules! They gave us several price range solutions and were always proactive and upfront with us every step of the way! Strongly suggest that if you need any plumbing work done, consider Hope Plumbing!
Liz K.Very disappointed. We have used Hope Plumbing in the past but not any longer. I contacted Hope Plumbing this am and was assured that someone will be out to fix/replace our faucet today. I was given a window of 9am-5pm. I received multiple texts throughout the day with updates that they will definitely be at our home today. At 4pm I called and was told that their current projects were running behind and they need to reschedule for another day. No apologizes for the inconvenience. I was told that a message was left that they won't be at our house today - I won't be calling if I received a message. I was reading some of the previous messages left on yelp and was getting anxious as the day went on and I can confirm that it has happened to me. Very disappointing.
Christine C.When the sump pump goes, you need it fixed quickly. Hope was able to fit us in same day and was at our house within an hour to replace the system. We will gladly use Hope plumbing in the future based on our experience this time. Thank you!
Just spent the day waiting around for Hope Plumbing to show up after scheduling them 3 days in advance. They confirmed my appointment and sent texts all day to confirm that they would be arriving by the end of the day. I called them around 1:00pm and they assured me that they would be there before 5:00pm. When I called them at 4:30pm, I was put on hold and then told that they were too busy and wouldn't be able to make it out to me today and wanted me to reschedule...no thank you. Don't take an appointment and tell me all day that you are going to be there and then just not show up. Now I have to find another plumber after wasting 4 days thinking I had someone that could handle the job.
My review emcompasses 2 completely different experiences with this company. I hired the company to do some interior plumbing tweaks that I thought was overpriced a bit but they were friendly and the guy did a good job.
Had a sewer line issue. The guys that worked on it did great and were very helpful and friendly even though they got their 40 foot snake stuck in my line. We knew then we needed to get a camera in the next day to understand our options and what our plan forward will be. The guys said the ""expert"" coming tomorrow will be able to answer all my questions, find out what the issue is, and give me options. That was great.
Next day the ""expert"" comes out. I put expert in quotes because really it was some millennial sales kid that obviously came to see how much money he could squeeze out of me to up his (i assume) commission. Here we go:
First, he got the camera stuck and immediately quit and said we need to redo the entire line and tear up my driveway and it would costs somewhere between 5k and 20k...and actually seemed to expect me just to say do it. I had to talk him into trying the camera again since the day before they were convinced the problem was 40 feet out and this guy got the camera stuck at 10 feet and quit. So in fact he was able to get the camera the full 40 feet by trying again.
Second, the expert immediately started selling a complete sewer line replacement....without even telling me exactly what was going on or presenting me with other options. I had to talk him thru a problem solving exercise and a different line of thinking to get any options out of him other than using my emergency sewer issue to his advantage.
Now we agree to do a dig and replace from the problem spot to the street. Basically it was going to be X amount to do the job. I agreed, and asked several times repeating myself to make sure we are clear on the ""x"" amount which was significant amount of money. After about 10 minutes that amount changed. Instead of it being the price X which we talked about several times to a repetitive amount, now that was the price for just for first day of work. The REAL price is double that. So either I am just clueless or..when you hire someone to fix a sewer line that is out...why would I only want to know what it costs for 1 day versus the total cost to me to get it working? It was again his lame attempt at increasing his commission.
At this point, I felt I had no other options and agreed. He said they have no interest financing they use for 12 months with a third party company. Not true. As we agreed on the work and cost and filled out the financing on his ipad, it was time to click ACCEPT the terms of the third party financing. First, the amount I entered which matched the cost mysteriously now is 1k more. Second, the terms were 24 months at 24.99% interest??? I have great credit and told him no way to I agree to this and refused to accept. We call the third party lender and the lender and this guy try to convince me that those aren't the terms of the loan just the terms if I don't pay on time. But on the screen it says, ""Loan Terms"".
In the end, I got the entire run repaired by another company for less than the amount he quoted for 1 day of partial work. They did the entire deal in 1 day, didn't need to tear up driveway, and even removed the snake line that Hope left at my house with no plans to ever get it and remove it. Maybe they thought at that point they used that as leverage to try and get the big job. Fortunately I was able to spot their BS and find another option that I am super happy with and was up and running in no time.
This company has some knowledgeable plumbers that did a good job, but I feel they overcharge and have a horrible ""sales/expert"" that will prevent me from trusting them in the future.
Morghan C.I had this company come to my home today for an estimate. Their communication and punctuality were top notch and if it hadn't been for their dishonest plumber I probably would've used this company in the future (though not for this particular job because their quote was $800 more than the plumber who came out the day before). I had a leak in my water meter pit so the plumber drained all the water to assess it. It was clear where the leak was coming from and I told him that the water company had been unable to tighten it so they said it needed to be replaced. It was a drip drop of water when he came, similar to a leaky faucet, but by the time he left that drip was now a constant stream of water. He explained to me that the meter and valve were very corroded and he would need to replace it all. Okay, that's certainly understandable! He told me the cost would be $1317 and asked if I'd like to proceed. I told him that was not in my budget but thanks anyway. Well for whatever reason he goes back into the pit and starts over tightening the screw/bolt until BAM, what do you know, that drip has turned into water shooting all over the place because he stripped the bolt! He then stands up and says ""we have financing options available."" I can't believe for one minute that a plumber didn't have the common sense to not fumble with an already leaking, already corroded bolt. Hmm, seems to me like someone wanted to force my hand to go forward with the work. Well I still declined but was in total disbelief at what he had so obviously done to sabotage me. He then spoke with a manager and offered to do the job for $998 if I did the work today. I still said no, at this point my mind was made up to NEVER use this company. He offered to shut the water off completely to stop the leak until I could get it fixed and suggested I simply turn it on when I needed it then off again. If he knew I'd have to do that, explain to me why he tightened the lid on the pit to where I could not get into it without a tool? So now I'm in the house all day with my children and no way to turn my water back on until my husband gets off. In closing, the plumber sent to my house today has me writing this review to suggest no one uses this company. Update: I had another plumber out today who confirmed that someone stripped the bolt. I'm very upset that I ever called this company because that stripped bolt now means my previous quote has increased.
Didn't even show up! I'd been waiting with no working kitchen (and 2 small kids) for 2 days until my appointment day - and after moving my whole schedule around to wait all day (my time frame was anytime between 8-5?!) they called around lunch time to tell me - sorry, you've been bumped..we don't have time for you today. What?!!! The man I spoke to wasn't even very apologetic - just said, well we'll try to get you in tomorrow. Yeah - no thanks. I've called someone else. And they have lost all my future business. That is no way to treat customers.
