This business was called in by the previous owners of our house to fix a leak that was found during the home inspection. The plumber they sent out said there was nothing wrong, he couldn't replicate the leak. Within days of moving in, we discovered the leak again. We called our own plumber and he was able to determine the source of the leak within 5 minutes. When we called to try and discuss the matter with the owner, he would not make himself available to discuss his employee's performance.

I generally do not enjoy paying for services that don't have a widely available industry prices. A/C Repair would fall into that category. Because of that, it took me a few months before I finally called Honest Abe to come look at my central air unit that was only blowing lukewarm air (last spring). They came out, spent about 45 minutes trying to diagnose the problem, before finally fixing a faulty valve. The guys were very nice. Late in the summer, the problem recurred, but since the summer was over, I decided to put off another service call until Spring 2015.

I called Honest Abe again. They gave me an 11-4 window. They called at 10:45am saying they'd be there in 30 minutes and did indeed arrive promptly at 11:15am. They immediately checked the valve and found that to be the problem again. They fixed it. It was a $0 charge visit, and I didn't even have to remind them of their one-year service warranty. Good guys, good work.

They met with me and we went over what they could do. From there we discussed prices; which I found affordable. Then they offered to do the work the very same day; no coming back at some other time. They come prepared to work; awesome. They even covered their feet so not to mess up my carpet; I appreciate that. I felt that they were professional and affordable. They get my recommendation.

I called my home warranty company yesterday and Honest Abe PH&C was at my house today. They were absolutely wonderful. They left a message on my phone this morning and was able to accommodate replacing my water heater around 2:00 this afternoon. The lady I coordinated with on the phone was so pleasant. The 2 gentlemen that arrived were very professional. They diagnosed the issue immediately and was prepared with everything needed same day. It wasn't the usual where the company comes out, diagnoses the issues, then says they'll have to come back another day to do the install. No, they did everything same day, in minimal time. They used protective gear to prevent tracking mud through my home (snow is melting and it is very muddy outside), cleaned up after themselves and provided detailed instructions on various settings and warranty information. I am very particular when I have services done, because I want things done correctly without a bunch of fast talking. I'm even more particular when I list high ratings on Yelp, because I don't want people to be taken advantage of. I absolutely trust this company and HIGHLY recommend Honest Abe PH&C to anyone.

we recently called them to free up a stuffed toilet and we were verydisatisfied.they quoted us a price over the phone and when they came jacked up the price .thet were paid for their visit and did nothing real con artist

I picked up a Groupon or Living Social Deal for them (I can't remember which) since just that morning one of my tenants let me know that his kitchen faucet had no water pressure. They were fast, friendly and upfront and honest about all work and pricing before they started. They stock almost everything on their truck so you won't have to wait for replacement parts to be ordered. Super clean work!

Very pleasant crew, respectful to my property and privacy and unbeatable same day service. On the other hand, I totally disagree with EN about them being up front with the cost. All I was told that if I do not get the job done by them, there will be a 65 dollars diagnostic fee but other than that they would not give me a range or idea of what the cost would be in spite of my detailed explanation of the problem. For two small jobs , their estimate was over 300 dollars. I let them do the urgent job, replacement of a couple of dollars worth part in less than 10 minutes for 152 dollars. I know the other one that they would charge me over 150 $ , will cost me 50 dollars or less once my usual plumber becomes available. Expected hourly rate or discounted price for the second job since they were already in the property. They have a price guarantee, so if you have an non-urgent big job, get estimates from others and have these guys do the job for 10 % less if what they advertise in their web-site is true.
