Can't really rate because left a message on 7/26 never called me back. Called second time , he picked up but claimed was on a 10' ladder and couldn't talk, was abrupt and rude. If you're on a 10' ladder why pick-up the call?
Update, received a call today, 8/27 with a very nice apology for not getting back to me and for being rude. Family run business so, I'm a firm believer in giving someone a second chance.
Dan W.I recently used Homestead for some basic plumbing needs. Mark was responsive, prompt and courteous.
He was able to quickly identify and solve the problem.
Everything is working fine!
Highly recommend this company.
nonresponsive, came saw said we need to schedule the work since 2 months have passed, I called over 10 times, the phone number is a messaging service, take note said will call me back, no one called. again and again.
I have been using Homestead for over 20 years. Not only is Marc a great, respectable, honest, family oriented man, but his work is outstanding. His employees are always extremely nice and respectful towards my family and I.
When you have this company come to your home, don't expect the image we all think of when we think of a plumber, because these guys are from that. They wear TUCKED IN buttoned work shirts with collars, and are 100% there to make you happy.
I've never met a company where every man in the company is just as professional as the owner. All great, outstanding men.
The 5 stars isn't only for what type of people these guys are, but also for their skill in their profession. Their work is honestly art. So with all this said, these are definitely the plumbers I will be sticking with until my time has come. Don't hesitate to call them.
:D
Call to have them come over and service my hot water tank.
The representative told me they are NOT taking new customers and I can only become a new customer by referral....
I am not sure how I should react.
And I want to share this information with folks that are looking for new plumbing services. This review might save you a call.
But I am sure, judging from other reviews, its lucky customers think highly of the business.
Owner contacted me and asked me to delete my review which I totally understand but after giving it some thoughts, I am keeping it since I think it has valid information and it was my true experience but I am updating my rating from 1 star to 4 star since 1 star was just not fair.
Timothy G.Although I didn't actually receive service from Homestead Plumbing, I feel like I got a good idea of how they treat their customers. I own my first house which is a 1 bedroon 1 bath right down the street from Homestead. This is the first plumbing issue I have ever had, and like with most service related things, I looked to local businesses on Yelp.
My toilet (remember, my 1 toilet) was clogged by a guest and I tried every trick in the book to unclog it and had no luck. I desperately called Homestead at 8am, expecting either an immediate answer or a quick reply as mentioned in more than one review as this was clearly a time sensitive issue. If I couldn't get quick service, I needed to find a place to temporarily stay (or go to the bathroom in a bucket, which wasn't happening).
I explained the issue to (I'm assuming) the secretary, stating that I would need someone to come either today or very soon to fix the issue. She told me I'd get a call back soon to schedule an appointment.
Around 1:00pm this same day I still had not received a call and called them back asking whether they would be able to schedule the appointment. The lady again was polite and took my information down again and said ""ok, I'll write down you called a second time."" What a waste of a half day. Any luck of getting an appointment that day was now shot.
Minutes later, I received a call from Mark. Mark talked in a degrading tone to me. You know, the kind of businesses that make you feel like they don't even want customers? I told him what the issue was, and he said they couldn't do anything for me today. Thinking they at least had an opening in a week, I asked them the earliest they could come. His response was ""3-4 weeks"" and I said that wasn't going to work. He seemed annoyed with me, stating that he was giving me a ""courtesy"" call (almost in a ""we didn't even have to call you if we didn't want to"" way). I promptly hung up.
Waste of my time, and my toilet is still clogged with a giant crap.
I felt it necessary to post a Yelp review warning anyone who is expecting a ""prompt call"", ""very positive experiences"", ""promptness"" and ""5 minute call backs"" which are all mentioned in other reviews and lead me to commit to getting an appointment with them. If this place was seriously booked for 3-4 weeks, the secretary should have let me know right off the bat.
I called to have someone look at our plumbing issues. The person who returned my phone call was prompt, but was very rude. The quote for ""diagnostics"" the first half hour was $124, then they quoted me $58 per half hour after that. I then said,""Ok then, your hourly rate then is $116."" He replied back by saying,""No, our rate is $58 per half hour."" The man can't even do simple math. He then interrupted me in the middle of my sentence, and abruptly put me on hold. This gives me a great insight into their customer service. I will never call them again. It's too bad they lost this client, because we have a big renovation to do, and they just lost a big account. But, I'm glad I dodged a bullet from this company.
Very responsive -- and this was not for an emergency, just a couple of faucet installations. Ryan was professional and speedy (which counts for a lot when you are being charged by the hour!). Great attention to detail. Cleaned up and took away the old stuff.
B L.I have had 2 very positive experiences with Tim. He snaked a nasty blockage in our kitchen drain and more recently came to address a leaky disposal. Turned out I needed a new one and he had it right on the truck. Lucky for me he was able to diagnose and replace in the first 30 minutes. I am not sure if they are competitively priced but they are professional, prompt and honest. I hate having to call the plumber but these guys make it easy.
PS you'll never meet a plumber as cute as Tim!
When one needs a plumber, one expects a prompt call back after leaving a message, a clear answer on whether somebody can come by and when, a clear explanation of what is broken and what needs to be done to fix it, a quick conclusion of the work and a detailed invoice.
Homestead delivered all that and more - my thanks go to them for doing all the right things. Will definitely call them back if my burner or water heater act up.
