I had HomeServe for a few years now, my wife purchased policy through an offer from SCG ( Southern California Gas), we had several electric repairs issues and HomeServe sent technician right away, Everytime the repairs were done correctly, both HomeServe and their technicians exhibited a great degree of professionalism.

Last week we had a major leak in the water main connected to the water meter, they send Frassica Inc. a pluming company in Corona and got the job done the next day after the claim was approved. I don't understand all the one star rating, because with our 5 or so claims we had nothing but excellent experience.

BEWARE! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I had been paying them for 3 separate contracts on my entire plumbing for 5 years and the VERY 1ST TIME I need them, they turned me down! It was for my water heater that flooded my garage...I had coverage for the water heater to be replaced or repaired. When they sent their choice of plumber, he told them it was just the plumbing and not the water heater! Scam! It WAS the water heater and my homeowners insurance plumber already came out and confirmed the issue. I was always told not to use these companies but I wanted to be safe in case my underground pipes broke or my water heater gave out....then THIS kind of service!!!! It was terrible. I asked for a 2nd opinion and was told...no. SHAME ON YOU HOMESERVE...You didn't and wouldn't SERVE or stand by your customer, you just know how to TAKE money year after year!! SCAMMERS!!!!

Horrible owners that make working conditions terrible. They wont allow the customer service employees the time to help with problems because they threaten them with call handle times but have over charged my credit card for the past 5 months and I have to prove it. ridiculous.

this is crazy. you need to get your information correct when giving it to a client. I was told that the exhaust cleaning was covered and now you call and tell me its not. I told the service person the problem i was having and they told me what need to be done and it was covered by one of the policies I have with them. 2 guys came to the house unknowledgeable of the service that was supposed to be performed. They got her and said that they don't do what was called for/needed to be done. I then got a call from the company saying it wasn't covered. The people that I called,I could not understand because of their language. Its like they don't want you to understand what they are saying.

You have to really really think twice before signing up. I signed up a few years ago and used it twice. Both repair was substandard. In my area, only 4 plumbers are part of their plan. So, as a customer, you have no choice. All their 4 plumbers have below average Yelp review. One even has 1 star with single digit reviews. First repair only lasted for 2 months. The second repair lasted for 1 second. I guess, this type of plan will give you ""so-called"" a piece of mind ONLY if it is a simple task. If it is a complicated task, like mine, involving pipes underground, I ended up paying out-of-pocket to hire another plumbing company in town ( not one of the 4 companies). BUT... this is really sarcastic. We purchased the plan because we wanted to have protection when big problems took place.. like bursting pipes, right? So.... Anyway, I stopped the plan.

We have had gas line insurance through Homeserv for years and had to use it due to a gas leak at the meter. Gas company advised it was in our side of the meter. This was Friday night. Called Homeserv Saturday morning and was advised someone would be out that day. Called back at 6 that night. Was on hold 20 minutes until they hung up. Called back to be informed their contractor refused the job. Finally after numerous calls was told someone would be out on Tuesday No one showed. Then Was told on Wednesday between noon and 4. Left at 5:15 for a volleyball game. Came back at 8 to find two young me working on the meter. Had to borrow a shovel from us and then at 8:40 run to Menards for a pipe. Finally finished in the dark using flashlights. Was without hot water for 5 days. What a nightmare dealing with them waste of $5 a month all these years

I purchased 6 hours from Groupon, I get a text advising she would be here the full 6 hours. She arrived at 6 pm, I asked if she would be here till 12 she said no and that I would be credited back for whatever time she was not here. Instead, she cleaned for 4 hours and missed many spots/ did not even sweep / counters were not wiped down. she leaves with 2 hours remaining and then waits till the time she is supposed to leave to send a thank you text saying she has completed the work though she had left 2 hours prior. She is trying to say she worked for the entirety when this is not true. I have called customer service for a week, call says I would have someone return my call within 24-48 hours and it has been 5 days at this point and 3 calls have not been returned. I am not sure why this is so difficult as I am just trying to get my money back or the 2 hours of cleaning done. This service is terrible and would not recommend it, save your money.

My mom's hot water went out. The first available appointment was nearly a week out. The appointment day came and the company was a no show. My mom is a senior citizen and has no hot water and is a paying customer. This ridiculous company had no reason as to why their vendor was a no show. STAY AWAY from this company. Their actions are completely UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

I was double billed for 13 months or my water heater plan and it took weeks to get a refund, although I had proof with the double billing on my bills. It took several calls to get them to agree to the right amount ($129). they kept insisting that 13 months X $9.99 was $87.00. That was two months ago. I recently cancelled 3 plans with them, including Interior Electric. The other two were cancelled, but this month I was billed for the Interior Electric. When I called, billing confirmed that it had been cancelled and put in a request for a refund that will take up to 3 WEEKS to receive. Based on my last experience I am not holding my breath to receive my refund. I'll bet it shows up on my next Dominion Energy bill again!

HORRIBLE!!! HomeServe sent an electrician, Morrison Electrical, to my home. The electrician could not fix the problem and caused additional damage to my breaker box. HomeServe told me that they are not responsible for any damages that is caused by their assigned contractor. I would reconsider using another warranty company.
