Biggest scam company on the planet. Sells you a service contract and when you request a repair they find 47 reasons to tell you that your problem is not covered. Even though your contract clearly states that it is.
They tell you someone will call you back but they never do. I had a contract on my gas boiler and when I requested service I was first told they didnt service that type of equipment. When I pointed out that was clearly in the contract I was told that particular part was not covered. When I showed them that the part was clearly stated as being covered in the contract I was told it was a pre-existing condition!
I am currently filing a complaint with the BBB against these people. They are participating in consumer fraud. And judging by other comments this is not an isolated instance.
Run as far away from these people as you possibly can! They are rip-off artists and are not to be trusted at all!

We have a Homeserve contract for our boiler and hot water heater. This is an emergency service contract. Our hot water heater stopped working. First guy came out and said that we needed a part but they did not have it in stock. This is one of the largest hot water heater manufacturers in the country and they don't carry the part? So they ordered the part. They installed it on day 3. Next afternoon I smell gas. Gas company comes and shuts off valve to hot water heater and says it is leaking gas from the part that Homeserve just installed. Gas was leaking in to our house for 24 hours. in addition they shut gas off to boiler too which Homeserve maintains too. That is right 2 gas leaks in our home. Thank god I smelled the gas or we could all be dead. Now it is day 5 still no hot water. I don't expect hot water until at least day 7. If I called a plumber I would have had it repaired right within 24 hours. Never again. You would think if you make gas connections which is toxic and explosive you would ensure that the connection is not leaking.

This is a SHAM company. I bought an Exterior Waterline Repair policy. I called them because of low water pressure and 6 weeks later they still have not located my isolation valve outside so they could to run a fish tape thru the line to find the clog or if it's pinched. They won't dig to locate it. They say the water in the whole subdivision has to be turned off cause I'm on a community well. Well the subdivision won't turn the water off until a hole is dug. I have even emailed their CEO John Kitski twice. They are seriously deliberately messing with my head by talking circles around me. I have filed a complaint with my Attorney General and am probably going to take them to small claims court. If anyone knows how to file a class action, I'm in!!! I rate them -10 stars. Aargh!

This company sells policies that cover things such as ""Exterior Sewer/Septic Line(s)"" or ""Exterior Water Service Line(s)"" via Home Emergency Insurance Services or HOMESERVE. The San Jose Water Company (SJW) markets these policies in San Jose CA via the water billing statement.
DO NOT BUY POLICIES FROM THIS COMPANY!
The policies are junk and are practically useless. I just found I had a leak in the water line between the water meter and the house. The pipe is an old galvanized service pipe, probable 30-50 years old (the house is 110 years old) and the leak was caused by rust and decay. With a pipe that old there is undoubtedly more than one leak. The entire pipe needed to be dug up and replaced. It would seem like a simple application of the insurance policy that I've been paying into for 2 years, but NO!
The junk policy that HOMESERVE sells only covers the repair of the one leak! You have to have 3 leaks before they will replace about 30 feet of pipe!
So according to the policy, you have to suffer 3 potentially damaging leaks before they actually repair the problem. So that means that you have to call for a repair each time, possibly wait days without water, and have your yard dug up 3 times before they will solve the problem. This is an insane approach to having insurance so don't waste your money. I had a plumbing service repair the entire line once and for all!
HOMESERVE should be ashamed for making money marketing such a shabby rip-off. What's next on the list? Having some of the worst YELP reviews around? No, according to the YELP reviews below you have that one aced! Congratulations.

Hello! We have had this warranty company for about 4 years.We needed service on a toilet and bathroom sink.The call was made in the morning they stated that the plumber would call.That evening a plumber showed up and said he fixed the problem! Next morning the sink was leaking more water! Called HomeServe again plumber showed up again stated that he could not fix the sink! Told me to go hire another plumber! Homeserve called me and said my sink was old! No you're plumbers are inexperienced! Called Homeserve the next morning and cancelled my policy! This company is basically worthless!

This company is purchasing service agreements from Dominion Energy. I called to cancel my agreement and you also have to listen to a 3 minute message about how great Home Serve is and why they were chosen to take over the service contracts Dominion no longer wanted. Then no matter which prompt you press, the system hangs up on you! I even called Dominion and there service was just as bad. No one there knows how to cancel a simple service agreement.

I purchased the 3 separate plumbing coverages offered. I am now on day 5 waiting for them to send a plumber to repair the leak in my water line from the meter to my house. The coverage is void if you find someone to do the work. I have called at least 6 times and am told each time they're trying very hard to find someone. One would assume they have providers in place to handle the plumbing issues reported by contract holders, many of which will be emergencies. The contract states they are not responsible for damages incurred by them not performing the duty of sending a plumber. I would never purchase anything from them again and may request the money back that I've paid them over the past few years for services they are incapable of providing when you need them. I have to rate this business to submit my review so have elected one star as zero stars doesn't indicate a rating. My rating would be negative if that was an option.

I got insurance to air condition and I was paying for this insurance for 2 years until I had to used them in November 2017 and they said that they are going to send some one to fix the problem but no one showed and I call back in January a month after and they told me that my unit didn't qualify then I cancelled the insurance and they said that they are going to refund but 4 months later I haven't get my refund and when I call the operator said that they send the refund I have to call back 3 times and they keep telling me different things please do not used them they still your money I'm in California may be this company is not real I check their license don't exist

This is without a doubt the worst home service company in existence. If I could give them minus stars, I would. Believe it or not, I spoke with 13 people from HomeServe to try to get them to fix a water leak that was supposed to be covered by their company. I had to get someone else to fix it after waiting for 5 days for one of their plumbers to come to my house. The first plumber they called never came out, even though the representative said he was on his way. The plumber who finally did come out didn't even look at the pipe but felt around and said it was not water pipes, it was the irrigation system. My irrigation guy came out and had his men dig until they found the problem. It was the water pipes, not the irrigation system. These people do not know what they are doing. Every time you call, you speak to a different person. Each person says they don't know anything about it but they are working on it. IF YOU NEED RELIABLE HOME SERVICE DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!

Very dishonest people. I had a appointment to fix my furnace back 11/11/2016 and as now they keep telling me that the part been made and don't know it will be in. Ask to have a manager call me twice and nothing. The operator ask me if I would do an survey about their service, I agreed, but they never send me reply.
