I was double billed for 13 months or my water heater plan and it took weeks to get a refund, although I had proof with the double billing on my bills. It took several calls to get them to agree to the right amount ($129). they kept insisting that 13 months X $9.99 was $87.00. That was two months ago. I recently cancelled 3 plans with them, including Interior Electric. The other two were cancelled, but this month I was billed for the Interior Electric. When I called, billing confirmed that it had been cancelled and put in a request for a refund that will take up to 3 WEEKS to receive. Based on my last experience I am not holding my breath to receive my refund. I'll bet it shows up on my next Dominion Energy bill again!

HORRIBLE!!! HomeServe sent an electrician, Morrison Electrical, to my home. The electrician could not fix the problem and caused additional damage to my breaker box. HomeServe told me that they are not responsible for any damages that is caused by their assigned contractor. I would reconsider using another warranty company.

I've had it with this company! Everything from backed-up plumbing to hvac repair, everything dealing with this company has been disastrous! I'm in South Carolina and it's presently around 95 degrees. I called in a work order for th HVAC 3 days ago and a rep came out the next day. He informed me that he would need a part and it should arrive by the next day. Surprise! It's 2 days later and my home is sweltering. This isn't an isolated instance. Last year my inside plumbing backed up. It obviousy wasn't a priority for them because they never repaired the issue. The phone rep informed me that there was no one available to do the repairs, BUT... I can hire a plumber and get reimbursed. Rather than wait for them to do what they're contracted to do, I hired a plumber. I'm still waiting on reimbursement.
There is nothing posititve I can say about the interactions I've had with this company. Always excuses for not doing repairs. I've been with them for quite a few years, but I might as well look for alternatives.
Everthing posted here are my experiences with this company and I stand by my comments. Trying to get a definitive respnse from the reps is like pulling teeth. Very dissapointed...

SCAM ALERT!!!! I've had this service with home serve for number of years and just until recently June 15th 2022 I had a air condition failure so I call home serve paid the $50 for the service charge. After paying the service charge fee of $50. I was instructed that I will be contacted by contractor or by home serve on the next day for work to be done on AC unit. June 16th 6:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. no contact whatsoever from contractor or home serve. At this point I attempted numerous phone calls to home serve to get this issue resolved. I was told that there was no one in my area that can service my AC unit. WTF at this point hot frustrated and angry. I never received a call from anyone to to resolve this problem. So be aware of this company Home Serve USA that have you paid premium every month of $16.95 and a service charge $50 and never show up or contact you. After attempting to contact the office of the president at Home Serve I was denied. It's a SCAM

Constantly get mail from them claiming to be UGI. UGI is a natural gas company and I don't even use gas. Attempting to mail them information I do not use UGI, they don't have the name of their address spelled the same. Three different pages for this HomeServe spell it different ways. ""Merritt 7"", ""Merit 7"" or ""Meritt 7""! They are said to be a legitimate company. But they don't know how to spell their address?

Received a letter saying that was a ""Contract Agreement"" and their terms. Never met or even talked to anyone in this company. If they charge my account in any amount, I'll press charges since they seem to be fraudulently sign contract with people without their consent.

I am a plumbing contractor that has been trying to get some information verified before scheduling a job for one of HomeServe customer's. I have talked to at least 6 people, get transferred, no one can seem to help me. I finally was able to talk to someone in my area and she asked me why I was even involved in this job. We are not a vendor with HomeServe. She said that they have plumbers in this area. The first plumber that HS sent out gave this customer a bid that was 6 times higher than ours and then he never showed up to do the job. The next few would schedule appointments and never show up. This homeowner has been trying to get a leak repaired since October. We have provided a bid and ready to do the work but before doing so I want to verify that HS has any and all info regarding our company that they need, i.e. Certificate of Insurance, W-9, etc. Can not get an answer. I know that payment will never be made if the i's aren't dotted and the t's not crossed. I have left numerous messages with the gentleman that has been working with the homeowner. No response. Just in case HomeServe is wondering why we do not want to be a vendor with you, start at the beginning of this review, the answer should be very clear.

Sent me a fraudulent notice falsely stating that I had agreed to a service contract to be ""conveniently charged"" with my gas bill. They even included fake service agreement numbers. I never agreed to any service from HomeServe, and thankfully there is no charge for HomeServe on my gas bill. I suspect the fraudulent notice is intended to get you to call them so they can rope you into an actual service agreement.

I have had a backup recently ( i have sewer coverage). When the tech showed up (3 hours after the promised window of 4 hours) the backup had cleared on its own but the flow was NOT gushing through ( as observed by the external cleanout about 15 ft from the wall of the house). This clearly suggested there was a blockage between my shower drain/toilet drain ( inside the house ) till the external cleanout. THe tech did nothing and said as no more complete backup they will not do anything. I got and external company to do a camera review and sure enough they have found a blockage externally. Now i called the company ( service provider) back and they said they do nothin until there is a complete backup even though there is a sewer block eternally.
This insurance is NOT worth buying as they have all kinds of reasons to NOT fix the problem

Biggest scam company on the planet. Sells you a service contract and when you request a repair they find 47 reasons to tell you that your problem is not covered. Even though your contract clearly states that it is.

They tell you someone will call you back but they never do. I had a contract on my gas boiler and when I requested service I was first told they didnt service that type of equipment. When I pointed out that was clearly in the contract I was told that particular part was not covered. When I showed them that the part was clearly stated as being covered in the contract I was told it was a pre-existing condition!

I am currently filing a complaint with the BBB against these people. They are participating in consumer fraud. And judging by other comments this is not an isolated instance.

Run as far away from these people as you possibly can! They are rip-off artists and are not to be trusted at all!
