Stay away, find a different organization to work with. For years my experience was good, but recently I had one of the worst experience every with one of their Technicians Frank. The person came to my home annoyed that he had to be here, then proceeded to not want to do the work that a previous technician requested be done. Then When I requested that he do the work I asked him to do, he got visibly upset and began to do the work all the time banging the components out of the unit. then when he was not able to take apart the piece that he was replacing, he proceeds to then try to dismantle it on a piece of furniture, while doing so he began move the piece back and forth which then cause scratches on top of the piece. The manager of the felid service called me about the situation and basically said I am screwed call my homeowner's insurance. Then I received a call from the ""Office of The CEO"" (what a joke) Dasha basically wasted my time pretended she would make the situation better but after sending her pictures, she proceed to say oh sorry nothing we can do. take it up with your insurance company. Do as you want but I would stay away.

Called HomeServe because of heating radiator malfunction. They send the same technician twice who will not do his job; His name ""Salah"" from New York - Queens area; he will only come to the home visit and see, doesn't like to do anything, and for the second time in 3 months his answer was ""get a new system"", instead of trying to repair, or to investigate what it is wrong; a lot of attitude towards customer and very challenging; giving explanations and justifications that doesn't make sense; he even mention to me not been a ""Carpenter"" so he can not touch, open or check the radiators from the heating system. I hope the company read these reviews and follow up with costumers because after this experience i will no longer recommend their services to anyone. Seems like he is the only one around the area or assigned to zip code 11370 because it is the second time that same person "" Salah"" shows up and do nothing. I also put a complaint with the company directly twice but No one at Home Serve follows up until now. Still no resolution.

boiler erratic, shutting down, house freezing,...called homeserve.
visit #1 tech replaced temp guage on boiler, said it was fixed...not!
visit#2 called h.s., tech replaced thermostat, said problem fixed...not!
visit#3 called h.s. again, tech changed 1 setting on thermostat, said problem fixed...not!
visit#4 called h.s. again, tech changed another setting on thermostat, said problem fixed...not!
!visit#5 called h,s,..finally!!!..tech dug into boiler, cleaned sensor, replaced spark box...fixed!!!
why didn't previous four techs take the trouble to diagnose the boiler instead of running out after 10 minutes?
homeserve...your sub contractors stink and employ techs who dont know what they are doing...i froze in my house for more than a week...zero stars!

This is by far the worst company on the planet. They take advantage of the elderly. Are rude. Horrible techs. Don't come when they say they will , and try sell overpriced equipment you don't need. !! My moms heat stopped working when it was the coldest day of the year. My parents are elderly with heart conditions. We explained this to the person and said it's an emergency. It is 30 degrees in their house. She said. We are short staffed. I'll see what we can do. We called again. Finally at 10 pm a tech came out. He seemed annoyed to be there. He said the pilot light is out and fixed it in 5 minutes. We asked why it went out. He said I don't know. It's just out. So the heat turned off at 4 am. 18 hours later someone arrived. Another tech , annoyed at being there was in a hurry and said. You have a leak and need a new boiler. It's 10 grand so take out a loan and we will get you one. He was beyond rude. We said. What do we do if the heat goes off again. His rude reply. "" call , if we're not busy we'll come over. But it's a holiday tomorrow so call Tuesday. Today we had a plumber come over. He was there for several hours. Diagnosed it and said there is nothing wrong with this unit. They were wrong about why the pilot light went out but it's fixed and you don't need a new unit. Aside from a nightmare trying to get someone over ( 1st call was at 8 am, took 14 hours for a tech ) Homeserve techs are rude , horrible diagnosticians and try to overprice and sell things you don't need By the way. A new unit would have been between 4-6 grand. Not 10. They tried to take advantage of an elderly couple.

They really need to tell their technicians to take class on how to talk to people. We gently reminded the technician to wear a mask and he replied in a not so nice way that he has one. The company really needs to review with employees how they should talk to clients

We've had a service contract with HomeServe for years. Fortunately we haven't needed them for our forced hot air furnace very often, but they've always come through when we have a problem. Our furnace went off last Friday , apparently due to a problem with the thermostat I phoned that night and was connected with their answer-not which, wonder of wonders, actually WORKS. I got an appointment for Saturday afternoon. The technician arrived on time, verified that our thermostat was indeed defective, and replaced it. Everything works fine.
FWIW scheduling an annual maintenance call is more complicated. You need to phone well in advance, but , since it's not an emergency situation that's OK.

I have contract with Home Serve for Interior Plumbing and drainage.

Readers, please be aware, the maximum you can call on this contract us only 2 times a year.

They send some incompetence plumbers over more interested to send invoice to Home Serve rather than actually doing the plumbing job.
One can and refused to work because it ll take a bit of efforts to bring the hot water tank through backyard hatch.

2and one came looking for unclog a shower base inground floor at my 4 story brownstone .Right at beginning he had perception that it is a multiple family .In fact it is a two duplex
and started to judge my house as multiple family.
So he did not unclog the shower base. But he used up my 2and call and billed Home Serve for his trip

So do not be fooled by Home Serve glossy advertising.
They do not have good plumbers in their networks.
And Home Serve Office management is a mess. Often you ll be sending around from one dept to another dept and still not answer your questions.

I have been using Homeserveus for a few years now and had no problem until someone changed my service plan without my authorization from yearly maintenance to as the lady told me on the phone ""repair or replace which I never authorized. Taking $379.00 from my account in this hard time. I am going to their office to get this fixed. I don't care if I have to go to the better Business Bureau, the attorney General office or wherever because this is madness! I am so my now I am steaming. Who is the thief in their office doing this.

Hvac blower motor started making grinding sounds last night. Homeserve was able to dispatch Allen the very next afternoon. He quickly determined the motor needed replacing. He had the part in the van and quickly took care of the problem by swapping it out. He was knowledgeable, polite, and, along with Ernesto, represent the best Homeserve has to offer. I hate dealing with HVAC repairmen since they always seen to be trying to get over; but these guys were A+.
