Why is it that my air conditioner always stops working or has problems on a Sunday night? Lol! It actually is not a funny situation. I was minding my own business and taking a nap. When I woke up my thermostat was blank and I couldn't believe it. I had a feeling something was wrong earlier today, when the temperature rose about 2 degrees and the humidity to 72%. But then everything went back to normal. So I called Home Tech! I have a contract with them for the last few years. They promptly sent somebody over within 2 hours! It seems that the drain backed up even though we recently had the unit serviced and cleaned. The gentleman quickly fixed the problem and let us know that there was a lot of slime in the drain. This is the best company that I have dealt with since I moved to Florida in 1975! Our appliances aren't that old, but we had service calls for the dishwasher and washer too. So if you're looking for a reliable, reasonable company to cover your appliances Home-Tech is the one! We love supporting our local community businesses!

Purchased a washing machine from Home tech. The first problem the washer was leaking which they repaired in a week. Three months later it quit working. They sent a technician who said is was a board A week later he came back. Installed the board and left. The washer still didn't work. Sent out another technician He said need more parts.Now there saying another two weeks before they can repair it. Will be 30days without a washer.Used to be a good company.

Very unsatisfactory service! Had to wait over a week for someone to come out and check an electrical problem that took less than 30 minutes to fix. This is not the first service problem I've had with Home-Tech and I wouldn't use them at all if I had a choice (we rent).

My dryer was not functioning and a Home Tech service technician indicated that a part needed to be ordered. I paid a service visit charge and a deposit for the part to be ordered. I was informed the following day that the part was no longer available and my deposit would be refunded. After a week, I called to find out why my deposit was not yet refunded - I was told it was in process. After two weeks and no refund, I called and was told someone would contact me about the refund - I received no callback. After a month and no refund, I called again and was told the service manager would contact me - he never did. I finally had to call my credit card company to get my deposit refunded through a dispute. Were they ever intending to refund my deposit?

First, let me say I have always had a high opinion of Hometech. Their technicians, whether it be HVAC or appliances have usually been very good. With that being said, I recently had them bid a new HVAC system and am thoroughly upset and disappointed. The salesman who came out seemed like all he wanted to do was scare me to death telling me my system was on its final legs, and if I didn't do something immediately, it was basically going to implode. The questions I asked a number of questions which were based on my research, other bids and my daughter's load study as she is a mechanical engineer. I was told that I didn't know what I was talking about. I freely except I am not a genius nor an expert in HVAC. His condescending manner was very offputting and I was offended with his comments. Finally and I think what upsets me the most is I have now received four quotes. Hometech is $11,000 higher than the highest quote I've received. I was told that he was recommending Trane because Hometech is the only Trane distributor in the area. I asked about Cattier and he said he would not bid Carrier as they were even more expensive and two of the three other bids I have are for Carrier products. I am convinced the salesman only was trying to pad his numbers to increase his income. I am so mad at this point. I'm considering canceling Hometech because I think this is deceptive practices when the salesman also told me since I was a good customer he gave me a 15% decrease. That 15% decrease should've amounted to more $4500 on a what he bid as a $31,000 system.

Do NOT buy this plan!!! We bought an expensive $600,000 house and the plan transferred to us. They had this for over 10 years. Day before closing, did a walk thru, Refrig. Was not running. Called them out, he said it would cost more to repair and they could give us a $100 discount at their store. We were out $2600 to buy a new one, which we did not buy from them. If that's the best they could do after these people paid into this scam for over ten years, plenty enough to pay for a new Refrig. Six months later, I get dripping water coming thru the bathroom ceiling. We called our close friend, who is an air repairman, he said when home tech installed the air unit in attic, they cut the wire that shut down unit when water filled overflowed of pan, leading to overflow of water and creating several water damage..thanks guys!!!! We bought our new home from an elderly couple, who had plenty of money. I believe this company took full advantage of them.

We are in a new home (3 years old) and have had Home Tech out to fix one of our a/c units multiple (6+) times. Today will be their 3rd service call in one month. Per their tech each time it's either slime in the drain line, air flow or dirty filters. Whatever the cause(s) is,they have not been able to fix it. On top of this I've left two messages with management and have not received a return phone call. I'm extremely disappointed with their service. I've had a contract with HT for years and never experienced this unacceptable level of service before.

These people came out in October to fill the air with Free-on. They charged $285 and 6 months later, when called again for the same problem, they said my credit card was declined in October so they needed to double charge in order to fix it. NOT!!! Why wouldn't they call if that was true. They put $570 through on my credit card, but I have proof the first charge went through and was NOT declined. These people are CROOKS and should be investigated. Renee

I don't mind the $99 service charge...I don't mind the $35 an hour fee... what I do mind is getting charged $184 for a dryer belt that cost $34.52 !! Outrageous and absolute highway robbery. I will definitely not give this company any referrals at all !!

I have been a Home-Tech customer for over a year now, and I have to say, they are absolutely wonderful. I have been having issues with my oven and dishwasher and needed repair, fast. Home-Tech was able to get my an appointment right away. The serviceman who facilitated the repair was SO nice, professional and clean cut. These are good guys, and very trustworthy. I even told my Mom about how professional they were, and suggested she contact them for her repairs. I can say this about them, the staff and the service agreements are great. That service agreement saved me a boat load of dough on repairs. I am a Home-Tech fan for good now. Give them a try, they are absolutely worth every single penny.
