They gave me a quote of $131 to fix an old dryer. It just needed a belt. They didn't have the belt so they ordered it. Not my fault.... I was up North or I would have fixed it myself. They charged me for a service call $99 said I wouldn't be charged again for that. But when they returned they did $131 I ended up paying $230 to fix a $18 belt on a 12 y/o dryer. I can get a new one for $299 I called them 3 times before getting a return call. The wouldn't do anything but a $30 credit. They rip of seniors and snowbirds. Go eleswhere

Service with a smile! Drove 45 mins to showroom and spoke with the head of service. We were impressed. All I wanted was a fridge with ice and water that is dispensed on the outside of the door from a company company which stood behind its product. We were guaranteed that. HOWEVER, we did not mention we wanted cold water. We live in Florida. Water the temperature of spit is not too attractive. We got a service tech to come out, who called his boss, the same man we had spoken with in person. who, incidentally has the same model we bought from him. Turns out there is nothing he or we can do about it. NO, I would not buy from this company again.

We have had occasion to use Home Tech for a washer repair this week and we had Joe 794. When we bought our house in fla this is the first advise we got. Use home tech and we have found them to provide excellent support. On this occasion our washer quit working and joe had to order a part for it. We did not think we would get it for 2 weeks but he was able to get it within a few days and have it installed and our washer is working perfectly. Joe 794 is a polite, clean cut young man who knows what he is doing and understood our need to get our washer fixed quickly. My wife was getting ready to have surgery. We could not be happier with his service. Atta boy Joe''John Kilkenny Sanibel island Florida

What about 2-4pm don't they understand? No phone call from them. When I finally called, I got an attitude when I asked when I could expect the tech. I guess when you get the money up front you're no longer accountable to your customer

Called home tech for our large wine cooler here in Port Charlotte which was no longer holding temperature. I was told there would be a $99 service charge to come and have a look. Very personable young man came out, we discussed the problem and then he told me it would cost $35 for every fifteen minutes he spent trying to find the problem. He mentioned that he would have to empty out the entire stock of wine in order to check it out. Since he could not tell me how long this would take, I did not wish to take the chance of running up a huge bill. He never checked the cooler for anything for the $99 service call. He mentioned that the bill could wind up being more than what the unit was worth so I declined. Paid the $99 bill and before he left, talked about and gave me a pamphlet illustrating their home appliance warranty program. We subsequently found another company that came out, checked the back of the unit with a meter, knew immediately what the problem was, never had to empty out the cooler and added some Freon gas which immediately corrected the problem. Even though this was a temporary fix, that cost less than $130, the entire brand new condenser will cost $329 with labor included. Lesson learned. Will never use Home-Tech for anything.

I had a """"gold"""" service agreement with Home-Tech which should provide really speedy service. It doesn't. The air conditioner went out Saturday, December 26th, five minutes after their office closed (2:05 pm). So we left a message. It qualified for emergency service because the outside temp was over 85 degrees. We got a guy out the next day, Sunday, December 27th, who didn't have the part he needed and said it could be a week. We got the service done Monday afternoon, December 28th. That's two full days without air conditioning. Then, Wednesday, December 30th, the dryer decides not to heat anymore. I call and it's well within their timeframe. The rude woman on the phone tells me it will be next week before they can get someone out because, you know, Friday is a holiday. I asked her what I'm supposed to do until next week. She said, since my washer is working, I could hang my clothes up to dry. Really? Is it 1957? I live in a condo, and I guarantee there is no place I could (or would) put up a clothesline. I can't go to the laundromat (ick) because I broke my tailbone and can't carry heavy baskets of wet clothes and would never use laundromat washers because I can't triple rinse my clothes (hubby and I both have contact allergies). She doesn't care and starts to go off on me. I tell her I refuse to argue with her and ask what time she can get someone out here. She says Monday, January 4th, and they will call after 8:00 to tell me what time (could be anytime up until 5 pm). Fine. So I have to call them Monday because I got no call and it was 9:10 a.m. She said he would be out between noon and 3. The guy who came out was okay, not particularly friendly, just wanted to do his thing. He did take his shoes off and I appreciated that. He worked on the dryer for about 40 minutes or so and told me it needs a part he doesn't have. Says he put in a request and when it comes in, they will call. Got tired of waiting for them to call me, so I called Thursday, January 7th, for information. Left a message, since the woman I need to speak with was away from her desk. She called me back and said soonest they could get someone out was the following Wednesday, January 13th. I asked her how she could make an appointment since I hadn't gotten a call to tell me anything about the part. She said that the part """"just came in"""" and she was going to call me if I hadn't called her. January 13th has come and gone, part tech installed doesn't fix the dryer, so back to earliest appointment, which is January 18th. It got fixed after I had left for a month to visit my daughter in Ohio. Needless to say, I won't be renewing my yearly contract at the end of the month. There is no sense of urgency with this company, no customer service skills and no apologies for taking for fricking ever to fix my dryer. I've already signed up with Choice Home Warranty - better price, better coverage and they are the #1 rated home warranty company around.

My tech was Henry and he couldn't have been more helpful and more informative. He was very helpful and I would highly recommend him. I normally don't post reviews but as a stay at home mom he definitely made me feel comfortable.

Do NOT buy this plan!!! We bought an expensive $600,000 house and the plan transferred to us. They had this for over 10 years. Day before closing, did a walk thru, Refrig. Was not running. Called them out, he said it would cost more to repair and they could give us a $100 discount at their store. We were out $2600 to buy a new one, which we did not buy from them. If that's the best they could do after these people paid into this scam for over ten years, plenty enough to pay for a new Refrig. Six months later, I get dripping water coming thru the bathroom ceiling. We called our close friend, who is an air repairman, he said when home tech installed the air unit in attic, they cut the wire that shut down unit when water filled overflowed of pan, leading to overflow of water and creating several water damage..thanks guys!!!! We bought our new home from an elderly couple, who had plenty of money. I believe this company took full advantage of them.

I have been a service agreement customer for 10 years with Home Tech and I must say I am now very disappointed in this company. They seem very happy to take your money but if there is any issue that requires a bit more than a simple call out they are not helpful and become very defensive. When you call to speak to a customer service rep they are patronizing and show little sympathy for your needs. Not good at all .
