Recommended Customer Reviews

We have used Electric Today/Home Service Heroes since we bought our house in 2017. They have come out on several occasions throughout the years including most recently when we had some residual damage from Hurricane Milton. We had technician, Mark, come out and he thoroughly checked out everything for us and took extra time to show us how to use the setup we have for the generator direct connect. He was so helpful and even gave us some quotes for requested work. He helped give us different options and explained thoroughly the warranties behind each option. We really enjoyed working with Mark!

Jon and the fellas did a great job on my A/C. Family business that stands by what they say. They haven't been on Buisiness for twenty years for nothing.

Wow! As a Realtor I deal with all types of service companies. I'm rarely inclined to take the time to post reviews- good or bad. Electric Today, family-run company servicing the Tampa Bay area, was a refreshing break from the """"norm"""". They came out (on time) the same day I contacted them and provided me a quick, confident, no-B.S. quote. When we hired them for the job, they showed up (again on time), and got to work quickly and efficiently. The technician was very friendly and helpful and went above and beyond in helping us out. They just left a great impression on me and the best part was that my clients were thrilled with the work and the price. Kudos and keep up the good work!

We had them install recessed lighting in our living room and replace three outlets . They did a good job and were very nice and on time. The price was very reasonable and they offered a military discount, which we appreciated. However, they made a mess and didn't use any drop cloths or cover the furniture. I would have loved it if they had told me that they don't do that and I would have done it myself. They did sweep up but there was a lot of dust on everything. I would recommend them but be warned that you should do your own prepping of the space!

I don't usually post negative reviews, but I am as hot as fish grease right now. I own a gaming company and have never gotten a bad review, because I do what I say I'm going to do, which is not what this company does. I should've listened to gut and went with someone else in the first place, especially after I read the reviews about Electric Today. I called and scheduled an appointment yesterday and spoke with an individual who had to be driving ( from the background noise ). I asked him about running some Cat 6 cable for me in my attic. He said """" We can have someone out there tomorrow (which is today June 12 2019) between 1:00 and 3:00 pm"""". I was ecstatic because they were able to do it so soon. I took off work to make sure I would be here when they arrived. 3:00 passed and I never received a phone call, so I called them. A young lady answered the phone only to tell me that my appointment was never put in the books and was I sure I had the right company (1st dumb question) Then she had the audacity to ask me if they could come out tomorrow around the same time to do the job, which means I would have to take off work again. I almost cussed her out for being an idiot, so to keep from doing that, I just hung up in her face. I will be posting this on my community website and the 8 other community websites where my military buddies live. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! A COMPANY WHO CARES ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS WOULD NEVER TREAT PEOPLE THIS WAY. 1 NEGATIVE RESULT IS 1 TOO MANY AND ITS EVIDENT THEY DON'T CARE.

Prompt and professional. They were a little more expensive than some I have used in the past, but they did an excellent job.

Office staff is great. Techs are professional and polite. Prices are excessively high. Literally twice as much as 2 other electricians we called to do the same small project. AND they don't give you a price over the phone so I had to pay 59 dollars just to get told they are twice as much!

I was watching Hell's Kitchen on Hulu and you all bought every ad space for the entire hour long show? I had to mute cause your ad was the only one that played and hearing 'home service hero's saved the day' for 120 seconds , how ever many times there was a commercial break was just to much lol was kinda annoying and too repetitive

The first thing you need to know about this company is that they do not charge hourly - they charge by the job. I thought that would be a good thing because the electrician won't drag their feet to rack up more fees. Turns out, not so much. More on this later. Another thing you should know is they don't charge for an estimate. All they charge you is a fuel fee for coming out to your house. $12 or $15, I think, which is much better than the $60-$80 other places will charge you for an estimate (though most of them will also roll that into the fee if you use them so that you don't end up paying for the estimate and the services). On the other hand, Electric Today charges you the fuel fee regardless of whether or not you use them. My experience here was mixed. I called them up on a Wednesday and they offered me an appointment the following day. However, I asked them for a Friday appointment instead, and they gave me that Friday from 10-12 and told me I would hear from the electrician on Friday with a more specific ETA. Friday, 12:15, rolls around and I haven't heard from anyone nor has anyone showed up, so I called. Turns out, the person I spoke to 2 days prior never actually put my appointment in the system. Some people would call that a sign and to move on, but I was convinced their pricing model was the best option. After all, if I went with another company and didn't like their prices, then I am automatically starting at the $70 or so for the estimate, plus whatever else My Electric would charge. That's how they get you. Anyway, I did call a couple of other places to see if they could do same day appointments. When they couldn't, I called My electric back and scheduled an appointment for the following Friday. This time, everything went as planned. I needed 2 services - a new wall switch for a light/ceiling fan fixture and a new security light installed outside. I was advised the total charge would be about $180. I had no idea if this was a good price, but I did know that if I said no, then I would have to get someone else out there and would inevitably end up using that other company, even if they were more expensive, because otherwise I would have to pay the estimate from company B and the $180 to my electric plus another fuel charge. Therefore, I said yes and hoped the work would take 2-3 hours to justify the charge (I had no where to be). Unfortunately, the work took under an hour, which means I effectively paid $180/hour for an electrician. Chris was great - I like efficient people who get work done right the first time with minimal hassle and time - but $180/hour is highway robbery. I know, it is my fault for saying yes, but where do they come off charging those prices for work that only takes a short amount of time? So, I had a poor customer service experience with my first appointment and got ripped off with my second appointment. Lesson learned. And again, this is not a bad review of the service itself. Chris would get all 5 stars, but the company he works for would only get 1 or 2 if it weren't for him. Hence the 3 stars.

Needed some out door lighting, fans and electrical sockets fixed in our house. Got it all done just in time for holidays. The customer service was excellent. They came immediately after my call and the price was right! I'd definitely recommend #electrictoday for any home electrical installations
