Terrible company to work with, they are not trustworthy . I had my furnace serviced because it was not working, someone came and told me that it needed a part to be replaced, it took them 2 days to come back and install the part, the furnace worked for 1 month and when I called back to have them go check again the owner himself told me he could not find any of his technicians willing to go back to my house, after I paid $350 for the service they were not even responsible to send someone to respond for their labor or a failing part that needed to be exchanged. I can't believe the owner himself told me I was better off calling someone else. Unbelievable . Don't hire this company for any service to your home.
I brought a 600.00 mattresses set in 2017, from home appliances. Well I didn't have a problem at first. However, in 2019 I seen a leather couch and matching chair I wanted to buy. I went for a second look before I spend over 3000.00 and seen the switches didn't look right. So I decided to wait until I see what was going to happen with my defeated mattress that was visible to the eye. They took pictures. I was denied a new mattress, which made me very upset. After buying three different pieces of furniture with them and had problems with my new dresser and headboard. I decided to just beware.
This is a great establishment to go through. I went through this company many of times and it is the only company I would trust to go through in Kankakee county.
This is not a reliable operation. Had my A/C service and was talked into buying a priority service package that would expedite my fall service for heating. I called to schedule appointment in October, and was told next avalible was 5 weeks later. Priority? I think not. Then on scheduled date, no one showed so I counted the $99 I had paid for priority service a loss and found someone else to do it. Don't waste your money.
Very helpful staff and very knowledgeable technicians! Be sure to check out their Home Care Club Agreement plan; it's save my household a lot of money with affordable maintenance and repairs including Plumbing, Electrical, AND Heating/Air conditioning
Don't EVER use this company for electrical work. Their customer service is horrific. The electrician, Luke is accountable to no one apparently and doesn't share his quotes, progress on a job, etc. with the office. Had a question....did the price we were charged for five commercial outlets include electrician coming back to finish the boxes, put the plugs in the boxes after the drywall was done. NO ONE in the office knew the answer to this question. Waited practically all day, called 2x no answer yet, hadn't got ahold of electrician, Luke. FINALLY a little after 4 I called a THIRD time talked to someone - of course he didn't know. Luke was in the office apparently and told the guy i was talking to it would be another $100. I got a little heated and was complaining about the poor customer service and he hung up on me. Said I shouldn't be talking like that representing a church, which I am. I'm sorry, but bad customer service is unacceptable to anyone. Just because we are a church does not give them the right to think they can do whatever whenever and we will just say, OK. I don't think so.
Oh - and when he completed the bulk of the work prior to the drywall being patched, two of the 5 boxes were significantly crooked. Totally unprofessional. He just left, didn't tell the office he was done and for them to call me. Only way I knew he was done was when I inspected the work later that day. He also DID NOT tell me the price would be $750 before he started work. He may be a good electrician, but without customer service skills all that is for naught.
I represent a church doing a small remodel, and apparently they thought because we are a church they could give sub-standard work/customer service.
It is really sad that so many contractors, including Home Appliance no longer take pride in their work and strive for superior customer service.
Very nice and helpful staff. The sales associates were able to answer all my questions and they have great financing available. The store is very clean and you can always find something that you want.
Had made online HVAC service call w/advertised $20 off coupon. 1st call cost $375 for A/C freon add, dye test...would not take off $20, 2nd call two days later A/C didn't work again another $140...would not take $20 off & then quoted additional $1700 (totaling $2215) for new coil/line. They wouldn't recognize past charges and reduce pricing at all. Found Affordable Comfort/Jason who completed job next day for hundreds less!!!
I went to their showroom Saturday as online I had learned they are (supposed to be) a Dimplex fireplace authorized dealer. An older lady got up to greet me, I told her I wanted to buy a Dimplex electric fireplace insert. She just looked at me. I went on to say that it was to convert a gas fireplace to electric. She replies with ""I don't think you can do that"". Oh boy, I knew at this point, I stepped into the year 1950.
I explained once again what I was looking for, told her Dimplex does indeed make them and they've been on the market for years. Now she says ""We don't sell parts"". It is not a part, it's a complete unit!
Finally a blonde haired middle aged lady sitting at her desk 20 feet away speaks up and says she knows what they are and tells the older lady to go look in the catalogues. She then says they could order one for me. I asked if they can do the installation, which just consists of sealing the gas line, taking out the gas log set, putting in the electric insert and hardwiring it.
Now the blonde says ""we don't do electrical work"". This made no sense. This would imply when they install a gas furnace, they put it in, connect it to a gas line but don't do the electrical associated with it? ""We can seal the gas line, but you'd have to get an electrician to do the electrical work"" I what I was told.
What an unbelievably poorly knowledgeable sales staff. There was a third salesperson in the showroom, but she didn't know anything about the product I was looking for. It was no surprise to me that the showroom on a Saturday had no potential customers except for me. Not that I'll ever become a customer of Home Furniture Plumbing & Heating. I was actually going to get bids on a new furnance next month, but since Home Plumbing, per their sales staff, can only connect it to the gas line and not the electricity??.... I surely won't be hiring them.
I felt good leaving the showroom, stepping out of the year 1950 and back into 2016. I'll spend my hard earned money at business who pay sales staff that are competent. Don't waste your time or money with Home in Kankakee, IL.
