Most home inspections are conducted when one is buying a house. Yet after living in my house for 25 years, I wanted a full house inspection to determine what I should fix or not.
I have already fixed or remodeled many parts of my house and many of the systems have already been repaired and or replaced with varying degrees of competency. There are also many other problems waiting for attention. In fact, there are many problems I didn't even know I had! I am sick of being ripped off by contractors, so I wanted someone with no financial interest to inspect my house and point out exactly what I need to do, or not do. John LaForme and his assistant, Telle, did exactly what I wanted. They inspected the entire house from roof to foundation. Two days later, I received a lengthy report and a summary report of problems illustrated with tons of photos. There were even arrows pointing to the specific problem areas with detailed explanations. Now I feel much more confident calling contractors and showing them the exact problems that need repair. I learned about John LaForme from a relative who raved about his work and she was right; he is a great house inspector.

I have had the pleasure of working with John on three home purchases over the years and the reason that he is the first person I call in escrow is his professionalism and accuracy. What a great experience! John came out to inspect a house that we made an offer on to buy, and he was absolutely wonderful. I requested his services for the home, pool, sewer, and termite inspections. He had fantastic subcontractors come out for the sewer and termite inspections (he coordinated them for us so everyone was there at the same time), and he performed the home and pool inspections himself. John was fantastic to work with, extremely thorough, and explained his findings in a way that was easy for us to understand. It turned out that he uncovered some significant areas of concern that we would not have been able to identify without his expertise. I have nothing but praise for John Laforme and Home Inspection Authority.

John is the real deal!! So this is my second property but my first home. The guy I used in vegas was amazing and I seriously contemplated about flying him out to do my inspection on my home here in LA but my realtor highly suggested John and I am soo glad he did! John was actually ahead of schedule which was great for me and it was a full production when he was at work. Extremely meticulous, saw things I didn't and not one inch of my home was not inspected by him. John literally just came out yesterday and I just received my extensive home inspection report this morning. He not only tells you what's going on with the property, the good and the bad, but he provides a history of materials that are currently being used, has recommendation tabs that sit next to the info tabs on the highlighted items and he also links in techs he recommends for issues needing to be resolved i.e plumber. It was obvious the first few minutes after meeting John that he was a real professional. We were at the property during his inspection, and he was very informative. His follow up was also very good.

Man oh man. Where to begin. I contacted a bunch of inspectors trying to get someone out to inspect a property I'm interested in. Got a response from everyone. What set John apart from the others was that he was the only one that did not care what city the house was located in. He did not ask for the address until we agreed on a price. He instead asked me what the square footage was. Fathom that!!! A home inspector professional that cares about the size of the house vs the the city it is located in. That right there made me feel that I'm dealing with an honest person.the day came to inspect the house. John immediately started working. Started by flying his drone. Inspected the roof. After that he did the exterior of the house. Than the interior. Pointed out few things here and there. 3 hours later he was done. Gave us an out brief right then and told us to expect the full report in 24 hours. His report was extremely detailed. He was available after the report was issued to talk about the findings. My wife and I really liked him. A totally different experience from another inspector we dealt with 4 years ago. John is now part our Profesional contact rolodex. Highly recommended.
